  1. Wow, I didn't think this discussion would "blow up" like it did! *rimshot* (I, too, gotta million of 'em.)
  2. Thanks for the replies, all! I shall endeavor to nuke appropriately if I'm ever on your respective teams.
  3. I don't play blasters much, but I'm close to getting one to 32 and I plan on taking the nuke (Psychic Wail). My question is: what are nukes for? Are they an opening move to be used on large spawns in a team setting, or are they an "oh sh*t" power? What is "nuke etiquette" on a team, for that matter? I guess it probably depends on the nature of the nuke (knockback vs. other effects). Any advice would be appreciated, and as always, I assume YMMV.

I should mention that I have a lvl 50 nrg/storm corruptor who has Nova (6-slotted with Scirocco's Dervish), and I never seem to use the power because I'm too busy spamming Lightning Storms, Tornados, O2 Boost (yeah, I said it) and Freezing Rain. Plus, Corr nuke damage seems somewhat meh.
  4. I have a lvl 50 energy/storm, too. He's really fun to play, and is the undisputed KING OF KNOCKBACK! That being said, he's pretty useful on teams against AV/EBs. With Hasten activated I just sit there spamming Tornados (which won't knock back an AV; they just chew on them for decent damage) and Lightning Storms while debuffing them with Freezing Rain and Hurricane (which also won't knock back AVs), all while sneaking in the occasional Power Burst. I have Hurricane 6-slotted with Dampened Spirits for max-debuff (and 7.5% status protection), not knockback.
  5. "Roman?" Isn't that "Namor" backwards. . .?
  6. Looking for the owner of the name "Neptunus Rex" on Champion. I'd like to move my toon of the same name from Infinity over to Champion. Whaddaya say?
  7. Aw, shucks. Oh well, I'll just have to come up with something equally "fishy" sounding. Lemme see, science origin sonic/electric blaster who gets his powers from cetacean sound-producing organs and torpedo ray-striated muscle tissue. Hmmm. . ."Screamin' Seafood?" Nah, too self-deprecatory. "Amphibiman" doesn't really roll off the tongue. "Aqua+anything" is probably a copyright violation. . .

This is going to be harder than I thought!
  8. Looking to move my "Manphibian" toon from Liberty to Champion but it's taken on that server. What are the mechanics involved with trading names? I don't have any names to trade, but I'm willing to part with an old issue of Judge Dredd signed by the members of Anthrax. . .
  9. Sounds like a great team. My alt on this server has a fairly traditional, "Silver Age" look to him. I couldn't get your guild portal link to come up, so please consider this as an application to the SG. My in-game chat handle is @battlechop, and my alt's name is Manphibian. Thanks for your time.
  10. Oh yeah, how could I forget my on-again, off-again main 'toon? Here's his origin (again as it appears in his "Personal Info" window):

    Battlechop
    Magic INV/EM Tanker
    Champion Server

Navy lieutenant Roger Cameron was your average submarine supply officer, or "chop" (so-called because the Supply Corps oak leaf collar device looks like a pork chop). That all changed one day when, while pinning on his gold submarine warfare insignia, or "dolphins," his body was suddenly filled with raging might! Apparently the spirit of Tench Francis, father of the Navy Supply Corps, felt the need for a champion to logisiticians everywhere, so he magically endowed LT Cameron with the powers of a fast-attack submarine! Now he has the stamina of a nuclear reactor, his fists hit with the force of MK-48 ADCAP torpedoes, his skin has the tensile strength of HY-80 steel, and he can cover hundreds of feet in a single leap just like an emergency surface procedure! Never very creative, he cut up a pair of his old submarine coveralls and stuffed them into his boots as a costume. The dolphins themselves transformed into a golden, scaly shirt and thus was born the mighty Battlechop!
  11. Here's my Tank's origin as it appears in his "Personal Info" window:

    Sunwrath
    Fiery Aura/Super Strength
    Level 14

One stygian-black night in a sub-basement of the Paragon City Museum a group of Hellion amateur mystics found themselves in mortal combat with a demon they'd summoned and accidentally freed. Three floors above, curator of Egyptian antiquities Dr. Roger Cameron was studying a bas-relief depicting Ra-Herakhty, or "Horus of the Two Horizons," an amalgam deity combining the traits of the Heliopolitan sun god Ra with those of Heru, the falcon-headed god of vengeance and patron of the pharaohs. A stray Hellion spell struck upwards and collided with the relief; instantly Dr. Cameron's body was filled with raging might! Apparently the relief had acted as a summoning mechanism and had transferred the god's essence to the curator. Possessed of the burning power of Ra and the unearthly speed and strength of Heru, he made short work of both the hellions and the demon. Now he battles evil as Sunwrath!

    Inv/SS "Lasher"

"Clubbed baby seal weak." That's good stuff! Especially since my concept is a human killer whale; I can club 'em and then eat 'em. Thanks for the advice!

Pretty much a noob here, so forgive this stupid question: Is it really okay to hold off on resisting energies and elements for so long? Is that because everything does smash/lethal at the early levels and the other stuff doesn't come in until the 30's?
