  1. Here are some screenshots of the Team Evil base.
  2. You need an RSS reader to view a feed. RSS is usually used to aggregate information (like posts on a blog or a board) into a single location for easy organization and display. The Dev Digest already does half of this -- it organizes all the dev posts so they're easily accessible from one place. What Atiaxi is doing is running a program that, every 15 minutes, grabs the information from the dev digest, combines it with the actual posts, and formats the information into the standard format of an RSS feed.

From a user perspective, if you're obsessive about following the dev digest, you no longer need to hit refresh every 15 minutes on your browser. Instead, you can run any one of a number of RSS readers, the reader will keep an eye on Atiaxi's feed, and whenever the feed is updated, the reader will alert you. It basically changes the tracking method from "user checks every so often to see if something has updated" to "program stays up to date with any number of feeds and alerts the user if and when one of them is updated".
  3. Well, it only goes back to 5/11/04, but there are some archived patch notes over at the CoH Vault at IGN.
  4. Excellent guide, Majik! As another useful command you may want:

floatdmg -- Causes damage and healing numbers or arbitrary messages to briefly float above a character's head. The first argument is the reference of the character to float over. The second is the amount of damage to float: positive numbers float red damage numbers, negative numbers float green healing numbers. If the second argument is zero, the message in the third argument will be floated. Otherwise, the third argument should be the empty string. This is normally used for heal/damage numbers and messages like "Critical!", but it can definitely be used for other messages as well. (See All Star's Go. Hunt. Kill Skuls. The Movie. for examples of how to use this.)

On a side note, if you want to use some automated tools to help you edit demo files, check out this thread where I'm in the process of building a demo editor. It's still not quite feature complete, but it will allow you to do things like cut out the middle of a demo file, time-shift and location-shift actions, automatic PYR command generation (so characters will face forward on custom movement paths or moving cameras will track moving objects), and a few other things, too. To run it, you'll need the Java Runtime Environment v1.5 or higher (available from java.com) and the installer (available here). Check out the thread linked to above if you need more help, and feel free to post there or PM me if you have any problems, suggestions, or other comments.
  5. Heh, good old memory lane. A few things you might find worthwhile to add:

    1) The first big nerf was actually to hasten (predated smoke grenade by 2-3 weeks). You used to be able to perma-hasten with just the initial slot. This was changed back in May to an incrediblly long recharge time (impossible to perma), but it was later adjusted to its current form after mass protests on the forums.

    2) One of the biggest early bugs was getting the Vahz disease permanently. Players had to petition GMs to get cured. This was fixed sometime in May/June as well.

    3) The tfm fix and the purple patch both came at the beginning of June. TK (mind control) was also changed at this time -- it used to be an ally fly power.

    4) Issue 1 was released at the end of June.

    5) MA wasn't the only powerset to get new animations in I3. Prior to this, katana's animations were all exactly like the broadsword ones.

    6) The winter event? Powerlevelling, ice skating, and snowball fights -- who could ask for anything more?

    7) It was only live for a couple of days, but there was a brief bug that completely removed all villians from Galaxy City. Citizens didn't know what to do with their purses, police officers had nobody to run from, and heroes rejoiced at their rare victory over the forces of villany.
  6. Just got the (Ice Controller) Flash Freeze numbers for you.

vs lvl 1 Vahz Reaper, no damage enhancements

    Brawl - 66.05
    Flash Freeze - 18.34 cold + 18.34 lethal

Glacier does no damage, by the way.
