Villainy doesn't necessarily have to result in opression.
There were a few times in the comics where Statesman thought he knew what was best and took action all by himself. Often to the detriment to the rest of the heroes. A little bit of "Villainous" behavior there. -

Quote:I read an interview where the creator said something similar, except that he died and glimpsed God and that's what gave him the knowledge and the mark on him was just incidental and didn't mean anything.Oh believe me. You REALLY don't want to know the whole 'ending' to John Doe. Right after the series was canceled the creator was interviewed by TVGuide and he explained how the series would have ended. Apparently the secret organization that was hunting him throughout the series was doing so because of what happened to him. They are a society that learned long ago that certain people that are struck by lightning have a mechanism short circuited in their brains which allows them to tap into the genetic memory of the entire human race and therefore it grants them super intelligence and the ability to recall anything and everything ever experienced by man up until that point. This society identified those people and then captured them and tried to harness their abilities. They captured him and then branded him as being one of the specials ones that have this ability but the woman that appeared in colour to him broke him out of their installation and then she went on the run. So he was going to spend the rest of the series trying to bring the group down and also find the woman who risked everything to make sure he escaped.

I say with the retcon, we need gimmick posters! Marcian's picked it up and ran with it, Eisregen is smashing it.
I can do this, I can save these forums. -
I hate when that happens. I can't see anything below the waist!

As a llama, you got a great set of L's.

I declare myself Smoke Monster of these boards!
So that means I may take the form of UncleBob or Miss_Kitty from time to time. -

Question: the Mods have been down on necroing old threads, but now that most old threads are gone if I post in what remains, will it too be locked?

The sad part is, we were probably one of the last places on the Internet that regularly watched and talked about Heroes. Now it is no more and in a few eons, people will back and think no one enjoyed the last 2 or so seasons of Sylar and company.

Yay, my Lost series finale thread survived! I feel so special!

I just wanted to let you know, Marcian, that I can totally see down your avatar's shirt.

There is nothing in that interview/soundbite to say that Sam and Al will not be in any planned movie, just that Bakula is too old to play him as a main guy.
A cameo or supporting for Sam and Al is still possible, I would think. And it would serve the studio well if they could do it as a "passing the torch" to improve longterm viability. -
Ooooh, can we make up new origins for ourselves?
Instead of joining the game after my friends began playing, I started playing Co* on an old Apple II that I found in a Hatch. I was supposed to enter some Numbers into the machine, but I found this game more enjoyable. -
Why would the superhero genre be different from the action or drama genre?
As with those genres, you will get a steady influx of good and bad. The only difference for the superhero genre so far is that it has been centered and focused around a few characters. If we get more projects like Watchmen and Kick-*** (which, I know, both "failed" but if studios ratchet down their expectations), then we will get more diversity and we will see it last longer and stronger.
