I keep trying to boil down your OP to something you can put in your bio, since that's what you appear to want. The best I can do is, "Not THAT kind of Futa."
This also leads me to wonder if we need yet another distinction from the "RP" Roleplayer. First we spun off the MRP, which initially included all sex, violence, and foul language. Then from MRP spun off (or maybe more appropriately, "spawned" ^_^) the ERP, to allow the Ultraviolents to put some distance between themselves and the Sexytimers. Now it looks like we've got a subculture of ERP, who'd PREFER you get to know them for their minds, but aren't averse to letting you get to know their bodies - but first you gotta earn it.
I propose "Romance Roleplayer", or RRP for short. Then you could just put "RRP Futa" in your bio and that'd say it all. All you'd have to do is explain what "RRP" means to OVER NINE THOUSAN- ahem, excuse me. That is, explain what "RRP" means to anyone who asks. -
Well great. Now I have to go make a costume to represent this with Junior :P
If we're going for WoD-style visualization, Junior would definitely crawl with whatever you want to imagine the Wyrm's influence to look like. He's a clone, and genetically tampered-with at that. His face is only half there, with the other half in darkness, and there is no warmth behind his eyes despite which expression his face is formed into. (not sure about this next part - might nix it) An emotional predator, his body looks starved, and his hands end in talons.
How Antecedent sees himself is what I'd consider his "Sight"-face. Despite having come to terms with his identity long ago, he still can't help but see himself in his "original" costume - though sometimes (and he'd never admit it) he sees a black and red uniform. It's probably nothing.
Warp Fire (who I haven't played in forever - and probably won't play again soon but what the hell) appears in the spirit world as the demon that's bound to his powered-armor, the armor appearing as glyphs on the demon's skin.
As a pure techno-geek, Groundwire (another long-abandoned character) is pretty vanilla. HIS powered-armor looks merely like whatever technology would look like. No strings, no twists.
On the other hand; his creation, 24kt PirateBot, appears haunted by the shades of a pirate crew. This may or may not be due to Groundwire's unfortunate decision, in his enthusiasm for authenticity, to plate PirateBot with genuine pirate gold. -
Again in the Chalet, this made me laugh today.
Some shorty is getting up in some haughty's face about haughty's World of Confusion aura being up. Note, haughty was hovering all by her lonesome in a window nearish the bar, but not directly at it. (she also might not always be haughty, but that's how she handled herself in this encounter so that's what I dubbed her)
We join our adventurers right after haughty doesn't turn off her aura the first time shorty implies she should...
Shorty, standing before Haughty: are you def?
Spectator: ((Deaf))
Shorty: ((def is short ver))

I'm with Mondo on the Kheldian thing. I won't berate anyone RPing their squid as a centaur, dragon, or faerie (three real examples of Kheld-abuse I've encountered) but I usually will politely remove myself from their presence and RP with other people instead. Am I the bad roleplayer for refusing to MUSH with them, or are they the bad roleplayer for insisting on playing a character that doesn't fit the AT they're playing?
Of course now that I've posted this and read Eisregen's posts about Peacebringer angels I want to make a Peacebringer that /thinks/ they're an angel. I'm sure it's already been done though - along with the Warshade that thinks they're a demon.
I do, however, use asterisks sometimes when emoting something while on a team, in a mission - and thus my teammates are very likely to be /just/ out of range of the emote even while in the same room. I usually emote normally with ; (the even shorter than "/em" shortcut) when participating in local RP. -
Quote:Yeah, I did mean Fury. >_<I'm a fan of +HP and +regen as well, but can't help but cringe on this end at the attack slotting. Five attacks with +64% damage and three with +87%? Both have procs, but still, I can't help but think that +64% and Fury is going to be less than +97% and Fury. (I'm guessing you meant "Fury" when you typed "Rage" above, since I don't see Super Strength anywhere in the build.
)
I think you might be better off with a bit less defense and more offense, but that's just me. I'm also not completely sure about looking for +Acc when you've got a perfectly serviceable but underslotted Focused Accuracy power that I think is going to drain END like no tomorrow whenever it's turned on -- and without it, that Gaussian's is just sitting there, not firing.
The toggles aren't any problem at all keeping up right now, and that's even without the Perf.Shift +End procs fully slotted. I do think I might replace the KD procs with the Dmg/End from that set, but I'm a fan of KD as a soft control so I wanted to see if I can get away with using them.
I am also considering taking a few slots out of High Pain Tolerance - I figure I don't need the Aegis in there - to give my STMs more Dmg. -
I'm also working on the same goal as plainguy - though I'm a Brute. If the differences are too extreme or it's better form to create my own thread I'll gladly do so.
I tried to keep everyone's advice in mind here - particularly BrandX and Myriad - but I'm obviously deviating in places. That's probably why I'm missing the key to getting that last few % to softcap S/L and I've exceeded the F/C softcap. I'm sure that's where I'll need to change but I'm at a loss at what to alter it TO. I'm also wincing at the lack of +Dmg in my STM attacks, but am hoping Rage will counter that. Is there any hope for me?
I'm a fan of regen, so I might have obsessed a little about getting as many +HP and +regen bonuses as I could, and I also tried to get a good amount of +Acc set bonuses as well.
Here's my build. *cringe*

It wasn't a bad group (though I'd have preferred more support than... none - iirc), and he wasn't a bad guy or a bad player - in all likelihood he was a better player than me. I was just amused by the improbable request.
I bowed out of the team before the next LadyW run to play with a buddy that had fortuitously just logged on. -
Scrapper, to me on my Brute, after a (successful) Lady Winter fight during which I fell a couple times. Note: I wasn't complaining about it.
"Don't steal aggro from me." -
I start with a loose concept, then try to find an AT & powersets I can stand to play, and finally buckle down to create the costume. I can lose days in the costumer, srsly, so for starters I just try to get a rough look. I can refine it later, but what's important is to have something to build on. More often than not, it'll come full-circle and the costume will influence the final character concept as I find combinations of pieces and colors that click with me.
I take the same approach to their story as the costume. I don't try to create the new character's entire story at once. I start with an infocard-sized summary and let them tell me more as I play them, and I always keep an open mind about letting others in if they have a great idea for some shared background. I'm still learning about characters I created years ago. -
Sweet! Code Dread sounds ominous. Is it a new Mountain Dew flavor? :3
srsly though, very cool site. Looking forward to more. -
Are we talking about how we're explaining it now? I say go any direction you want. The precedent has already been set to explain your connection to the Well in any way you wish. Nobody's forced to integrate the Mender's TF into their own story. Who says there aren't more Excaliburs out there? The Lady might have had a trunk-full of them in a Wal-Mart parking lot. "Hey buddy, wanna inherit the kingdom?" Or how about other cultural weapons. Masamune, etc? Anything would do. Not even just weapons or ancient artifacts. It can be tech, a spell, a mutation that taps into the power. Hell, one of my characters has a suit of power-armor powered by a demon (Aeon stole MY idea, damnit!) and running on a Magickal OS. I plan his connection to be via the demon. Do whatever YOU want.
Even if you don't want to IC acknowledge your alpha slot, sure, okay. However, I do believe that any time you reject anything in the game that allows you to develop your character more, it's your loss. Allow your characters out of the box you wrote them in. The writers/devs have worked extremely hard to translate as many game mechanics as possible into IC terms. Take advantage of it. Integrate!
I was quite amused when I realized the writers pre-empted all the "not connected to the Well" stories out there with the Honoree. You're not connected? Sure you aren't. Okay, yeah. No problem. I believe you. You're definitely not. Mmmhm. ^_^ -
Quote:This is exactly what I was going to post, except more succinct than I would have managed. The difference here, is between a lvl 2 PC that is the godly type right out the door, and someone using a lvl 2 as an NPC for a story.
edit: In response to the OP, I don't mind anyone RPing their character as on the path to Incarnates. I would even RP mine as such, were I to share that information with my allies. As for another character claiming they're full Incarnate? (before that arc is finished) I'd most likely respond the same way as if anyone else on the street were to claim it. Nod, smile, and humor them until I can get a safe distance away. -
Thanks everyone! A couple names I recognize and several new peeps as well.
Arcs added to checklist. And yeah, the RPers had already begun retreating to bases the last time I played. The D was turning into mostly just a place to hookup or posture. I still thought it had potential for meeting new people, but we'll see if I maintain that optimism. ^_^
I'm @Antecedent so feel free to add me. As a dad o' two, I can't guarantee a stable gaming schedule but I'm doing my best to get on semi-regularly. -
After almost two years, I'm back. I doubt anyone remembers me but here I am. ^_^
So after I remembered how to organize my windows, I began working on remembering how I bound my keys. Thank GOD for server-side keybind memory. What I couldn't figure out by mashing my keyboard I was able to /bindsave and read for myself. I found I still had my old custom keybind files on my old hard drive, including the perfect (imo) fly/hover bindset I remember took me days to debug. Yay for that!
Then on to figuring out what has changed. The first thing on my agenda was this newfangled Architect thingie. Wow, that's a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to going through the backlog of arcs in the advertising thread. I've already gone though Saul's Discount TF arc by Ante's idol, of course. Plus Scott Kurtz's LOLBAT arc. That was a blast. I can't wait to see what else the names I recognize have created. Any recommendations, feel free to hit me!
I was floored to see the addition of what at face value looks like a completely OP power. Walk?! The first time I saw someone walk in Pocket D I was flabbergasted! This'll take my roleplaying to a whole new level. I can't wait to see if I can slot it with Run Speed. :3
I can't decide if I want to play with Ante first, or Junior or one of his alternates. I doubt Groundwire (poor, forgotten Groundwire) will get any gametime, or Warp Fire.I'll also need to check out this Praetoria thing once my copy of the GR ultra-duper edition arrives. Managed to snatch it up at $10 offa bestbuy.com on Cyber Monday. Unfortunately that was the only excitement that Monday. Another one gone and nobody invited me to cyber even *once*!
Anyway, it's good to be back. -
