  1. I logged in last night to help an SG mate take out Ghost Widow and saw "raid forming" chatter on the global channels. So, we took out GW as fast as we could and I switched up to get to the Abyss.

If I'd realized we needed more aggro control, I'd have brought my Brute to beat on the yellows instead of my MM to hand out bubbles.

I think there was a lot of confusion on my team. We were almost entirely ranged damage, so I would have thought we'd be aiming for blues, but half the team thought we were going after the held greens and we didn't seem to have any clear leader on the team to make our call.

    Good learning experience, though.

Then ask yourself this... where are the frigging street lights? Not the traffic lights, mind you, those we've got.

Aren't there some over near Dark Astoria in Talos? I thought I remembered seeing them coming on as night fell while I was hunting Banished Spirits.

Fact is I can't even seem to find the back issues of it on the site any more.

The Paragon Times articles disappeared when the redesigned site was launched late last October. In March, Fleeting Whisper and I archived as much of the original Times content on Paragon Wiki as we could find. We're still missing some images, but we managed to recover all of the text from the articles. You can find those archives here.
  4. Paragon City's been in an economic slump since the end of the Rikti war. It's cost the city a lot of money to rebuild and those expenses are eaten by the taxpayers. Every deduction a citizen of Paragon City can take on those taxes counts, even if it doesn't work out to very much in the end. So, naturally, it makes sense that "Penny" would be a popular name for your newborn little deduction.

    Just my two cents worth.

    OK, I'm done now.

What, you mean there hasn't been a person uploading all our server history at Paragon Wiki?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've never paid much attention to Arena chat and didn't get into the Hami raids until just before CoV launch. The "no pants" schtick was already going strong by then, so I can't really help ya on this one.
  7. In what year was Ziggursky Penitentiary built?

In 2004-05, Mayor Morales was in office in Paragon City.

    a) What is his full name (or at least his first name)?

    b) Was Mayor Morales re-elected to another term in office? Has he since stepped down or lost the position to someone else?
  8. That was your first time ever running Temple of the Waters on Saturday?

That was some pretty good work, ya big n00b!
  9. [ QUOTE ]
if we get the engine overhaul I'm expecting.

See, there's the problem. You're setting expectations and setting yourself up for disappointment.

    Hamidon Raid?

In related news, from the I15 beta patch notes:

    [ QUOTE ]
Defeating the Hamidon has had its Merits awarded increased from 40 to 52. This was due to a merits per minute recalculation made in a previous patch that was overlooked for the Hamidon.

What is that glowy red ball? It looks like a nazi mito.

No, that's obviously the Eye of Reichsmann.

    Hamidon Raid?

    Did someone mention jello wrestling?

    Bye Bye Badges

On the bright side, it looks like there's only one badge I have left to earn.

Better get a screenshot of the rest of my pretty pretty badges I've worked for before I lose the other 67.
  14. This has to be the most creative use for the AE system I've seen yet. I love it!

Now to convince my SG that we need to go play through this arc...
  15. At least the little guy was still warm.
  16. I first learned what a Chinchilla was in the Meijer pet department. I was sad to discover they no longer carry those.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
Have you been to Canton for the NFL Hall of Fame? Eaten at a White Castle yet?

    If not! Shame on you!

    [/ QUOTE ]

You know, I'm not really that big a football fan, so I figured I'll save that for when my dad comes to visit. It's probably about 15 minutes down 77 from here, so that'll be a nice, short drive.

From what I recall, having not hit a White Castle since returning to this side of the Mason-Dixon, I'm not missing that much. I sure am glad to be back in Dunkin' Donuts territory, though. (Now if Discount Tire and Meijer would just spread out this way, I'd feel just like I was back home again.)
  18. [ QUOTE ]
Yeah, seriously, go [censored] yourself for not going to Cedar Point!

    [/ QUOTE ]

I moved within 90 minutes of Cedar Point last year and feel shame for not making it up there at least once during the summer. Must correct that this year.

Still, that's not as sad as the people I work with that grew up here in OH and haven't ever been to Cedar Point.

At least I hit the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame my first weekend in town.
  19. Arc Name: Great Events in Paragon City and Rogue Isles History
    Arc ID: 121795
    Length: Very Long
    Morailty: Neutral
Diffuculty Level: Soloable, but the last mission can be a little ugly if you have your difficulty set very high. Definitely more fun with larger teams.
Estimated Time to Play: I think 90 minutes would probably be a rather leisurely pace with a good team.

Relive some of the biggest moments in recent CoX history.
Mission 1: Protect the city's infrastructure during the first Rikti War. (4 bosses to defeat for completion. Lots of patrols and potential ambushes to trigger. One optional ally.)
Mission 2: Repel the Rularuu invasion. (Defeat all, patrols, a few ambushes, and two optional low-ranking allies.)
Mission 3: Stop the 5th Column/Council riots in Steel Canyon. (Battles, ambushes, and two EB/AVs to defeat.)
Mission 4: Kick Longbow to the curb during Statesman's Strike. (Defeat 15 EB/AVs.)
  20. Love the new costume pieces, the emotes, and the new power. All great work and I'm sure I'll get a lot of mileage out of them on at least a few characters.

The triple billing from server interruptions during purchase is a bit annoying, but I'll wait it out until tomorrow evening to see if that gets cleared up.

If I have any suggestion or request for this booster pack, it would be simply this: If possible, it would be very nice if the selected costume emote in the costume window was saved per-character rather than account-wide. Lightning fits one character very well, Cast fits another, Spin fits a different one, and Presto Chango fits very well on two others. Most of my other characters work better with no emote on costume changes.
  21. Finally finished tweaking my first arc. (Well, enough that I'm comfortable publishing; I'm sure I'll find more to tweak.)

    Name: Basic Agent Training
    Arc ID: 52660
    Length: Very Long
    Creator Global/Forum Name: @B Samson
    Morality: Heroic
Mission 1: Small size map, level range 1-54. Contains Ambush, Boss, Defeat All Enemies.
Mission 2: Small size map, level range 10-16. Contains Ambush, Boss, Collection, Release Captive.
Mission 3: Medium size map, level range 10-16. Contains Patrol, Ally, Defeat All Enemies.
Mission 4: Large size map, level range 10-16. Contains Collection, Patrol, Ally.
Mission 5: Large size map, level range 10-16. Contains Boss, Patrol, Ally.
Enemy Groups: Custom Group, Spetsnaz Commandos.
Description: So, you've decided to join the OSI super group? Well then, let's get your training started.

This is the first in a line of related arcs I have planned. As an intro to the series, it's geared more toward small teams in the 10-16 range. Not that it shouldn't be fun for big teams of higher level characters, but you'll be auto-exemping for most of the missions.

As for the difficulty? Well, I've tried to keep it from being too nasty since it's geared for lower levels. It was really easy to solo with a Tank, but preliminary testing made me scale it back a touch for large teams full of squishies.

If you'd like to submit any feedback, PMs here are great.
  22. This was taken of and for the all-shields team I was running with in the sewers on the test server around 10 - 11 EST tonight. (There's a little demo magic involved in the staging for the image.) Figured I'd post it here where they can all get to it.

Pictured L-R are FireWall 2.0, Blund, Azure Shield, Dumptruck, Backwater, Sergeant Shield, Mid Guardian, and Mech-Rabbit.

    Enjoy the picture folks.

  23. I smartly gathard me crew o' sea farin' dogs together t' set out for some lootin' and plunderin' on this fine day.

Click b'fore we lash ya to the gunner's daughter, ya scurvy dog!

One-Eyed Willy stands near t' bow, with his mind on his doubloons and his doubloons on his mind.

Captain Spark (captain o' some other man's ship, perhaps) be polishin' his hook in anticipation o' t' plunderin' we be about t' set to.

Our visitin' sister from t' Orient, Sum Sing Wong, seems t' be havin' some trouble figurin' out that thar's no one rowin' this ship. No matter, she's a good lass with a cutlass, so we keep her around.

T' fisherman on t' starboard side be US Army Soldier. Apparently he's decided t' stop bein' a lubber and grow a pair o' sea legs. He'll be swabbin' t' deck if he chums all over it from motion sickness, though.

T' odd half-goldfish, half-demon pirate t' me port up on t' castle be Oni Kingyo. You'll not likely meet a more ruthless and coldhearted buccaneer. Why, he's so fierce even ninjas obey when he commands them t' do his biddin'.

And then there's me: Barranquilla Samson. T' rest o' these bilge rats loot and pillage in me name, Neptune bless 'em.

Now, let's get to t' important business. Where's that wench with me grog? I can't set to sea without a good dose of rum in me belly.
