Cup of Squirrels was one of the elite angels that backed Satan in his uprising in Heaven against God. After the Dark Angels were condemned to hell, Cup of Squirrels spent all of time in Hell, waiting, plotting...
But before he conquers Heaven, he must conquer Land. He is older than Earth and Time itself, reborn onto Earth.

That is nothing short of excellent, gave me a chuckle at any rate.

Nice, the posterize filter was quite apt too I thought.

Indeed. HTML is a structural language and should contain nothing that influences your design. All design should be external in a CSS file - http://www.w3schools.com is a great start if you want to learn, then head over to http://www.csszengarden.com and see what you can do with CSS!

The lady knows what she's talking about.
Zen Garden is a really great site, certainly an eye opener for people who never considered using CSS beforehand due to their not realising just how drastically it can affect the appearance of a page, only problem is that once you visit the page you generally waste a good few hours looking at all the templates they have on there because they're just that good. -

hm, you sure you only need the explo badges to unlock the beacon? Because in CoV got all the mercy island, port oakes and cap au diable (including sweet tooth) explo badges in SG mode, yet only got the port oakes beacon in return. The same in CoH, got all the explo badges in sg mode of striga, hollows and boomtown (just to test it) but only got the boomtown beacon. Maybe you can only unlock 1 beacon per person?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes I'm sure, I've got all of the beacons available in the base editor. Lord Recluse also posted that it was exploration badges only, after the initial theory it was exploration badges *and* plaques, Mercy Island and Cap Au Diable were completely unattainable during the beta too whereas they're working now and correctly award the SG Badge.
As I said, it's not based on one person in the SG collecting all the badges for a zone, just that each badge has been discovered by one of your members *whilst in SG mode*. If you had already obtained the badges before forming the SG or toggling SG mode, you simply walk over all of them in a zone a second time, it won't give you the "Badge Earned!" text for them but after you've visited them all you will see it along with a notification in the chat window that your SG received the SG beacon badge for that zone. As soon as you have the beacon badge you can buy the beacon items within the base editor. -

stylesheets?

CSS - Cascading Style Sheets
They let you customise the appearance of elements within a page, you can also save them as a seperate file to your webpage and reference them within the HTML so the page's filesize is smaller, makes it good for search engine optimisation.
There's been a lot of hot air on this topic with little to show for it, but Notepad was always the weapon of choice for real webpage creation before Dreamweaver came along, it just depends on how versed you are with HTML. Dreamweaver will simplify a lot of it for you but as was already mentioned you have to spend time learning to use the package so there's a bit of a learning curve, if you know sufficient HTML to code it yourself you don't need to bother with a fancy editor just stick with the basics. If you're just after a quick revamp and aren't too familiar with HTML, you're probably better off using some entry level site generator instead of an actual editor. There are quite a few of those and you don't need to pay anything to use them, a lot are built in to the free webspace provider pages so their users can create homepages quickly. -

Does this mean we can tp to the non-hazard zones as well? How do we do that?
[/ QUOTE ]
Nope, you can only get hazard zone access on the hero side. You don't have to pay to unlock the beacons either, what you do is explore a hazard zone and collect all of the exploration badges (if you've already collected them prioer to I6 simply walk over them all a second time, even though you don't get the badges again it still registers the SG Badge when you walk over the final one), when you've collected all of them you get a supergroup badge under the exploration tab saying you've unlocked the beacon. After unlocking, you can purchase beacons within the base editor under the teleporter menu - if you have found you have some there to buy that just means your SG has collected the SG Badge for the zone already, not that you are paying to unlock the item. You just have to pay to place them as you do with any base item, same way workbench items work even though you just collected all the materials together to build it yourself, it still costs prestige to place. -

Indeed, you need to keep those alts in...
[/ QUOTE ]
Funnily enough, smart [censored], they are. Because they never left. It just says revoked because a member left regardless. -
[ QUOTE ]
No it doesn't... A mate and I have stuffed a single SG with 7 alts each and we got the 20k for each one. Alts don't matter.
[/ QUOTE ]
Certainly does as far as I've tested, we've been getting the 20k awarded and then immediately revoked. -
The 20k prestige only counts for new members and not alts of existing players within the SG, so if you have more than one character on an account who is part of the SG you'll only receive *one* 20k kick to the prestige. Adding an alt will give you chat window text saying you were awarded 20k and then immediately spam you saying you lost 20k for a member leaving the SG.
-
It's all hazard zones, discovered this recently and it answers the question we all wondered on during beta which was why Mercy Island was not giving the SG Badge after grabbing all of them, so what we were all reporting as a bug was actually WAI and we just weren't informed. Figures.
Basically you have to collect the exploration badges in SG mode and it is *not* retroactive so characters who attained the badges previously whilst not SGed/in SG mode will not count. The badges do not have to be earned by one person, you just need to have each of them collected by people in SG mode.
You can also unlock various base items permanently with SG badges, items that you would normally have to craft from salvage for a once off placement, meaning you can place as many as you like (or rather can, in your current plot) and not have to dip into your salvage reserves. -

So what was Beta actually for?
[/ QUOTE ]
To be fair this would not have been found in beta, because their giving SG's 36mill prestige on formation masked the problem. If they hadn't done this then we might've actually spotted it sooner. -
They can't actually kick you or they lose the prestige, only way around that would be to spend it on base items so it can't be repossessed.
-
Well, let's break this down...
If you want an SG base, great - registering for one is free and you can immediately get to your "base" and edit it. It is a single room with the base portal in, if you've played a bit and have a couple of people in your SG (like myself) you'll have a fair amount of prestige to start with, but let's go by the magic number of 300000 you're meant to have for 15 members:
You can style the rooms to your liking, raise and lower the floor all you like and slide the portal about to *some* extent, place it too conservatively and you'll find you get people spawning stuck behind it when they enter. You want furniture? Great! Place some decoration like seating, tables, lighting, you can even adorn those tables with decorative items - don't get too carried away though because you only have one room and limited floor space, not every item is "stackable" so if you thought you were going to place those pretty white floor tiles, THINK AGAIN! That would be an entire quarter of your base's room written off entirely, IF you could fit one in at all with the portal's huge bounding box in the way.
So you have an unlimited number of decorative item placments, you can go crazy and make your own little chique apartment in the single room, but what happens if you (god forbid) want a functional base? Well, firstly you'll need a power supply room, then you'll need a control room. So, smallest power room costs 150000 prestige, there goes half of your budget. Control room, same thing, there goes the other half. Now... we still can't actually build anything functional until we place those power and control generation items so let's check the prices on those, ok... power generator... 220000 (IIRC) prestige. ERROR ERROR DOES NOT COMPUTE!!!!!!!
Bye bye dreams of a functional SG base, you STUPID STUPID CoH+CoV subscriber you! -
Well apparently they intended SG's to receive 20000 prestige per member up to a maximum of 15 for a total of 300000, it's also bugged. It also happens to still fall short of building a functional base and it still leaves the issue of smaller supergroups with limited membership not being able to build themselves a functional base for quite a long time, hardly very fair considering one of the main reasons to buy CoV for CoH subscribers is to obtain bases, they've set it up in such a manner that some of those subscribers can dream on for quite a long stretch of time.
Basically, I agree with the other posters on this topic that costs need to be addressed rather heavily. Not everyone wants an item of power outfitted, raidable base, some SGs just want the functionality of having their own little place somewhere and the convenience of a hospital and teleport chamber. -
Those are extremely good, do you work in an creative profession at all or is it just a hobby/self taught?

He copied it across from the US forums so provided one of those guys made a copy of it you can get it again from there.
