  1. I forgot to mention that my secondary will be empathy so I could buff my pet. I still want to do control with my primary, but I want the extra damage from the pet after its buffed.
  2. I currenlty have a Pain corruptor with the epic pet and he does pretty good and I was wondering what pet for the trollers does the most damage? I already have a Fire controller and I do not want to repeat that set. So my set selections are the following:

    Ice Control
    -Jack Frost

    Gravity Control
    -Sing

    Plant Control
    -Fly Trap

    Earth Control
    -Animate Stone

    Illusion Control
    -Phantasm

Well as you can see from the subject name, I'm just asking what would best fit?

A friend of mine told me to go with Dark Blast and Shadow Meld(along with PS) b/c Neeto is kinda annoying around in RV, using his bubble, but I just wanted to see what would be the best choice. (If there isn't any replies, I'd probably go with what the friend said or maybe Mako =x)

    Thanks people.
    Jin.

P.S to Neeto: Neeto, I have no personal feelings =x was just trying to make an example why xP don't be mad at me, heheheheh.

I am not a RPer that PvP, but I do like to match my primary with my PPP. I currently have a Elec/WP/Mu and a DM/EA/Soul stalkers and so far I like the Soul mastery the most. I seen lots of stalkers get Mako for sharks and Hibernate; however I rather get Phase shift as an escape.

123 ratings at 5-stars last night, nicely sitting on the 3rd page.
126 ratings at 4-stars now this afternoon.

Losing all the 0-stars was a good first step, but it's not stopping these people.

Ever think that your Arc might not be that good and people just vote how they feel? I have given some bad Arcs top score cause I feel bad, but there might be people out there that vote for real.

    2. didn't like that they had to build their character differently. (Dual builds added - check)

[/ QUOTE ] Dual builds are good but it means 2xtimes much IOs to spend on my toon to make it work in pvp and pve(and yes i want IOed toons to run TFs sry :P)...in i12 i still could have buffs on my pvp toon and do great in TFs, just example fire/em blasters. Fire ball was great in both pvp and pve now it is junk. Thanks.

The reduction of damage change to the Targeted AoE's and the PBAoE's was one of the best changes to PvP. Why should one AT do so much damage to a whole entire team. If you want to fight someone 1 vs 1 then you still can, but if you want to fight another team then get a team of your own and do it the right way.

    4. didn't like that their Superman clone could die in half a second. (Answer for that: Slow down the game, as the devs are trying to)

[/ QUOTE ] yeah now they don't die at all unless you drain them to 0 or have 10 ppl attacking them...is THIS balance??????

    [/ QUOTE ]

Quit fighting in the arena with DR, Movement Suppression and Healing Decay off and you will get some kills.
  7. I am just making a guess and trying to pin point what people like and dislike about the new PvP. Please add something I missed and make your own list of what you like and dislike.

Most of the sets you added in are terrible for dueling, which is what my original list was for.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Now I figured out why we have different versions of PvP builds. I am talking about Zones and you are talking about dueling builds.

    Soldiers: lolz Soldiers
    Widows: lolz Widows

I added in yellow some of the sets I seen in the last month. Once again I would like to point out that each server is different. From my experience of PvPing is that some servers like to Solo in zone PvP and this causes a lot of players to pick toons that dont require to many buffs, for example Tankers, Stalkers, Scrappers, VEATS, etc..., but on servers that always like to form a teams and call out targets for spikes are usually a more diverse group.
  11. I guess one point I was thinking about and trying make out but failed is that the old PvP characters were very cookie cutter builds for example:

    Blaster (Fire/Energy)
    Controller(Ill/Storm)
    Defender(Emp) or (Rad/Psi for duels)
    Scrapper (Spines/Regen)
    Tanker (Ice/Energy)
    Brute (Energy/WP)
    Corruptor (Thermal)
    Dom (Mind/Fire)
    Mastermind(Thugs/Dark)
    Stalkers (EM/Nin)

Well in the new PvP I see FoTM AT's, but the Powersets are different. The ability to chose an AT and pick any powersets you like for PvP is a step in the right direction. I never thought of bringing my Archery/Devices to the PvP zones in the old PvP, but in the new PvP I can actually PvP now. I am not a great PvPer, however I have been doing it for 3 years and I see how things have changed. If this game didnt have PvP I would have quit a long time ago. I get bored of doing the same missions over and over again to lvl a character. The PvP(even though its not the greatest) is the reason I am still here.
  12. I think the new PvP requires more skill to survive since it is easier to get a kill.

It took a lot of skill for blasters to hit build up+Aim+ Fire Ball+Inferno=win in the old PvP. What I think the devs tried was to bring the OP toons down and the Weaker toons up so they are at the same lvl. I am not saying the PvP is perfect, but its on the right direction and it still needs some work. The reason I quit playing my Fire/Energy Blaster in PvP was one day I hit Force of Nature and took out a whole villain team of 2 brute, 2 corr and a dom before it dropped. Granted they might have been some real bad PvPers; however they should have killed me. I like the new PvP since there is an excitement that I can die.

Meh, I have 42 50s at least one will be ok in PvP.

  14. Last night I was in RV and I was teamed with:

    Mind/Thermal Controller
    FF/Energy Defender
    Cold/Psi Defender
    Katana/Regen Scrapper
    and I was on a Archery/Dev Blaster

    We were fighting:

    Ninja/Darm MM
    Elec/Thermal Corr
    Rad/Pain Corr
    Elec/WP Stalker
    EM/Nin Stalker
    and a Bane

After all the villains left I went to one of the popular servers and seen a whole bunch of tankers and scrappers on heroes and stalkers on villains. I guess each server is different on how they populate the pvp zones.

When the Rogue expansion comes out will the PvP zones still be a issue to some people? I plan on transfering some heroes to the red side to try it out.
  15. Is there a sign in sheet for the ITF's?

In I12 PvP there were more of the same AT's in the zone and people had to build a FoTM to get some wins. In the new PvP i seen a lot of AT's and powersets in the zone and I think that is what the devs were trying for.

    [/ QUOTE ]
    Really? I've seen less.

    [/ QUOTE ]

It must be my server then. I remember being on a hero team with 4 blasters(Fire/EM) ,2 scrappers (Spine/Regen) and 2 Defenders (emps) in I12 PvP and on villains I was on teams with Doms(Mind/Fire) and Stalkers (EM/Nin). Now I get in on heroes side I teamed with a Blaster(Psi/Dev), Troller(Mind/Thermal), Tank (WP/Stone), 2 Scrappers (Katana/Regen & MA/Shield), 2 Defender (Dark/Sonic & Cold/Elec) and a Peacebringer. Just IMO it seems to be more of a mixed team nowadays, however other servers may be different.
  17. [ QUOTE ]
In I13/14 there are more of the same ATs in zone and people must build a FoTM to get some wins. In I12 PvP there were a lot of different ATs used and I know that the Devs will lose more customers when CO releases if this is not fixed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Are we talking about the same game? I was talking about CoH (City of Heroes) and CoV (City of Villains). I think you are confused.

I honestly believe Crabs make the best condidate for Alpha, thanks to IOs, especially with Fortitude, and having Tough on top of that will turn him intoa real Alpha strike. My opinion for the team buildup would be as follows.

1 TanCrab (Takes Tough and Weave for surivability and melee attacks)
    1 Bane (Standard Bane)
    1 AoECrab (Standard Crab)
1 CrabMind (Standard Crab with a focus on Global Recharge and the Pets)
1 Huntsman (Rifle focus, taking the Leadership toggles as wll as the TT toggles)
    1 Night Widow (Standard)
2 Fortunatas (This hlps fill in a DPS gap as well as a control gap)

This is based entirely on the soldiers TT: Maneuvers offering more Defense than the Widow counterpart. This team setup ensures Softcapped defense by about level 10. From there on the rest of the game is just cake. To be honest that setup is mostly just my ideal setup for theme and for functionality. TanCrab takes alpha, Night Widow and Bane stealth strike, Crab and Huntsman AoEs go off, as well as the Fort AoEs. Should make for a quick mob kill.

I'd say yes on Stamina for everyone, it really make life easy for VEATs seeing as they all have the TT toggles. I would say Yes to everyone taking ALL of the TT toggles by the level 24 respec. Once you ahve them all everything will be just infinitely easy, maneuvers included. I'd say the Huntsman can skip the Pool power Maneuvers though, however he should assault, Tactics, and Vengeance. If at any point someone dies you'll have 4 Vengeance, which will ensure victory.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I like this idea. When I think of a superteam I think of all power the teams need.

    High Resist/Defense - Crab Build
High Single Range Damage -Fort/Bane (w/Mace Blasts)
High Single Melee Damage -Widow/Bane (w/ Mace attack)
AoE Range - Bane (huntsman build)
    AoE Melee - Crab/ Widow
Control - Fortunata ( w/ AoE fear from Power Pool)
Buffs - Every AT will have TT and the forts/widows will have Mindlink
    Debuff - Bane/Crabs

    Earth Blast??

Since the warshades have Orbiting Death Spin around him then they should make Orbiting Earth as a toggle and then the Earth Blaster will be able to shoot from the air since the Earth will be following him anywhere he goes. Make is a damage aura to and it can only be turned on while he is gounded.
  21. LOL @ Almighty_HH because Tractors are not sexy, they are big, dirty, and have spare tires.
  22. I like Psi and Sonic for PvP. I hate to say it but */EM is the best secondary (IMO) for PvP because of the boost range, power boost, Conserve power and other extras that help in PvP.

    PvP Recipes

I PvPed today for about 2hrs 30 min and didnt get nothing. I got a lot of kills. All I did was Kill Steal and get the final hit and hope to get a recipe.

    Heavies in RV...

Just take away heavies from RV. Nothing worse than a player that can't PvP use a Heavy to hold someone so they can get the final hit and gain rep. Atleast lower the heavy to a lvl 50 and not a lvl 54 to even the playing field a bit.
