So, based on what happened (or more accurately, didn't happen) at Tuesday's Villain raid, I decided to not do on Thursday night. I think it may be too soon after a new release to try one, and I know a lot of people have their characters doing all sorts of fun side switching right now.
So some time in the Fall, I'll pick up a villain raid here and there too. -
This Sunday, August 29th, we're doing a mental themed ITF for the Sunday Special. All Mind, Psi, and Willpower sets are welcome. Meet at Imperious at 3:00pm EST. As always, you have to have access to Cim City to join us.

I am not against 2R and Zergging, but I do have concerns about them. With the NR3R, it works just fine if 3 - 5 people bring the helpful temp powers - nukes and pets. 2R would require more, and all out Zergging would require significantly more. And personally, I get a little twitchy when the success of a raid depends on that many people to go the extra mile, especially given the number of nukes at 3R raids I've witnessed lately. I'm not saying it's impossible, but it would take the dedication of a LOT of people to pull off. -
I want to thank everyone for doing such a great job tonight! It went even better than I hoped, and I really appreciate everyone who went the extra step to bring nukes and temp pets. You all are great!

Ok, I may be crazy, but I'm going to attempt a no retreat, 3R Hami tonight. This has been my ultimate goal anyway, so we may as well go for it.
I'm also going to lead my first villain raid on Thursday. With my Scrapper. >.> -

I tried this tonight with three full teams. We defeated the Rularuu just fine, got our obelisks exposed just fine, but then found that they weren't synced well. One of them always got it's shield back up much faster than the others, and no matter what we did, they were never in sync. It was frustrating and unfun. We never even got into the Cathedral.

Thank you all, once again, for making the three round raid so fun and easy. Justice never fails to come through!
I am in the process of going rogue with Ms. Darkblade, so I'll be back to leading raids with my Tanker next week. I'm going to need some strong Green and Yellow Damage team leaders to step up and help coordinate.
Warboss and I talked about our goals for the Yellow Aggro team, and getting the regular Tankers in the mindset of running no retreat raids, since the crux of it is how well they can jump out and pick up aggro again. I am of the opinion that this is best done by a good Yellow Aggro team leader so that the team runs as an autonomous unit within the raid structure. To that end, Warboss and I have worked out a system so that during the last phase, when I call for buffs just after the 50% mark, he and his team know to drop their nukes, and then get out to their targets. This has worked great the two times we have done it. As time goes on and we get closer to doing full on no retreats again, it is my goal to have good leaders in place who understand the process and can work with me to know when to jump out and take aggro again.
I'm incredibly happy by how well this is working. Looking forward to even more raid evolution.
