Ok, well, I expect to tweak her a bit more (like in Hurl, for example), but at the moment she is set up thus:

Thanks everyone.
I went through the various builds and respecced Maiden Canada last night. I am more than pleased with the results. I did a number of missions at +3/ X8 without too much difficulty and fet like I was back in the pre-ED days, when I could leave her standing in a field of purple while going for supper and not worry about her.
I'll have to check out Call Me Awesome to see if I can tweak her a bit more, but I am very happy with how she performed last night. -
See, this is my problem, as mentioned above. I am not a big numbers person and thus don't always recognise when I go from "enough" to "too much". Any suggestions on what I can put, where?
-
For what it's worth, I'd buy it. It would probably let me pump up Ultra Mode and the touch screen would probably make it workable.
-
Quote:Dink, I was actually just coming to post myself on a similar topic. Is there any way, shape or form that the regular, basic bare feet can be fixed? There shoes were fixed after there was some discussion about them recently, but how many people will use them? I am sure many will, but I would expect that at least as many people have costumes involving bare feet and we have been asking for them to be fixed for much longer than these boots. Those feet have been fixed only it is not out yet. I would love to go back and fix some of the feet but again I must move forward. Maybe some time when I get a little extra time I can do just that but I cannot promise anything. I think the first feet are way too small but that is just my personal opinion.
I have at least 3 characters who would benefit from a fixed bare foot model, but I can't bring myself to use the flesh-coloured boots that we presently have. -
Ok, so take a look and tell me how awful this is.
Before opening myself to forum ridicule, let me point out that I have never really been a big "numbers" person and have generally just followed the "not more that 3 of a type" rule when slotting stuff. I have never been a min/ max expert by any means.
I'd like, in general, to keep these powers. I don't want to give up stuf for the fighting pool, for example, unless I can trade in a way that also gets me more damage. Also, if Afterburner can be worked in, great. I certainly don't need Hand Clap, but I find Foot Stomp fun, for example. And some mght say to drop Energy Torrent, but I have been using it for so long, it would seem strange not to have it.

Yeah, she's 50 and an Incarnate.
This whole thing really came about from watching other people Inv. tanks take on enemies that would seriously damage me, while their health barely moved. As I say, I initially thought it was my build, then thought maybe other people were using Unstoppable, then went back to questioning my build.
I might have to look at how other people sloth their Invuln. powers. -
... Unstoppable?
I ask this only because my first character that I ever made back at launch is a Inv/ SS tanker and while I still love her, I sometimes feel that she doesn't perform as well as some other In. tankers I have seen and I have log wanted to improve her.
It was only last night that it struck me that I am the one limiting myself. My playstyle is a bit... odd. One of the guys that I team with regularly often teased me about how I rarely use Inspirations, if at all and I realised that this extends to certain powers as well.
For a long time (basically always...) I have played my characters in in light roleplaying manner. In comics, for example, you will see Spiderman only really use his full potential in critical moments. He's trapped under tons of debris? Too bad. He's just not strong enough to lift it. What? Aunt May is in danger? Raahhhrrr.... He powers his way out because she's die if he doesn't.
i tend to do the same. Inspirations are for emergencies only. I also have to admit I do the same with my powers. When I'm in a major battle, I will hit Dull Pain, but not before. If I am in danger of defeat, I hit Unstoppable, Rage and Hasten, but only in emergencies. This means they sit in my tray and almost never get used.
So, do any of you use it regularly, or only in an emergency? I had been jealous of the fact that other people's characters don't seem to take as much damage as mine, but maybe that's the reason? Or maybe I am slotted wrong.
I just want to find out so I can improve her. -
I personally would say yes. As much as I hate failing, I think it adds a bit more challenge to the game, which is missing in the average mission. As it stand now, we can't really fail at anything. Even the worst player will eventually win out in the end, even if it takes 50 trips to the hospital.
I like my actions to have consequences. -
In the first pic, the helmet actually made me think more of Optimus Prime.
-
Haven't read the entire thread, so I am not sure if this has been tossed out, but...
I'm kind of thinking that Wade might kill the entire FF, take all their powers and then fight us with them. In the end, when he is defeated, the powers drain out of him, returning to their original owners, reviving them.
Just a thought. -
Quote:I really wish they would invest in hiring a story editor-- someone who would know (and care about) the game's lore, while overseeing every mission that gets produced. This is what galls me the most, and not just about this arc. At some point in time, we appear to have gotten a writer who decided that subtlety and immersion are for squares, daddy-o, and thus broke all of the game's "secrets" out into the open. Crey Industries are obviously evil and you have to wonder why everyone related to the company isn't in jail yet, Malta is widely known to the world as early as level 20 and everyone knows about them, Virgil Duray is the leader of the Sky Raiders who are American soldiers who fled into mutiny and that whole story about finding that out is moot, everyone knows Vanessa DeVore is the leader of the Carnival of Shadows and how she manages to be a "socialite" as opposed to "wanted criminal" is anyone's guess... Oh, and the Rikti are human, lest we forget.
See, because we, as players, know these things from previous playthroughs, then obviously the world at large knows these things, right? Right? Never you mind that that makes a whole lot of stories, not to mention large chunks of the persistent world, nonsensical and pointless.
Crey Industries is a legal business. Their property, personnel and trade secrets are protected by US law. Trespassing in their facilities, assaulting their personnel and destroying or stealing their equipment are still crimes. There's such a thing called "due process." It law enforcement, a court of law and legal proceedings. That's precisely WHY Crey still exists - because their shark lawyers are good at bending the rules of the system and the Countess is good at covering up her tracks. If we raid one of their installations, it should only ever be done with a court order, a search warrant or otherwise with some form of justification above and beyond "Their evil, go steal their stuff!"
There is such a thing as subtlety, writers. There are villains who are not just an openly evil paramilitary organisation who stand on street corners, belly-laughing about "Ho ho ho! We're so evil!" The fight against crime isn't always literally a fight. Not all problems can be solved by finding the right person to punch in the face. The fighting is done done for its own sake. Ultimately, it has to serve a larger purpose, and in the case of Crey, proving that Countess Crey is a criminal IS that larger picture. But you know what? Corporate law being what it is, the actual Crey Corporation can survive even after the Countess and all her cronies are in jail. A "corporation" is a non-sentient entity that cannot be accused of a crime. At best, it can have all of its property and finances ceased to repay outstanding debts, but there's nothing stopping its investors from carrying on in name only. After all, they're only in the cost of their investment, they don't incur any of the corporation's actual debts.
What I'm saying is that Crey is not a "paramilitary" villain group, but rather a "clandestine" villain group. Like Malta, like the Family, like all the Nemesis shell companies, they present a front that is not only believable as a legitimate business, but which uses and abuses the protection of the law. You can't go busting into Crey labs and stealing tech any more than you can go busting into Portal Corps labs and stealing their portal generators. Not if you want to stay on the right side of the law.
I think it's great that we are supposed to be able to "play our own way" and each character has their own story... but the writers shouldn't follow that same rule, with their stories so independant of each other that they might as well be different universes at times. -
A number of years ago there was a fairly decent (as I remember it) book called The Doctor and the Enterprise, which had the orignal crew meet the fourth Doctor. I think I still have it somewhere. Being unofficial, they couldn't use any names other than the Captain, the Science Officer, the doctor (lower-case d) and the Doctor (upper-case d). At a climactic point, everyone had to evacuate the Enterprise for some reason and they all went into the TARDIS.
Will have to reread that. -
-
-
How about a fix to the regular bare feet? No more flesh-coloured boots with toes painted on, please.
-
"Blackjack!" actually made me laugh.
-
I'm still hoping that-- in fine comic book style-- issue 25 will be a double-sized spectaculer!
-
The helmet looks better in the second pic. Might be the lighting in the first one that exaggerates the size. As for the costume, though, I agree that Stallone's looked better (painful as that is to say...)
-
Yeah...
The shoes/ boots are nice enough, but those toes just don't work. I don't expect any change, though. A number of us have been asking for a fix to bare feet for a long time to no avail. -
If you pause when Thor is helping Cap to his feet, you see his chest has been spattered with what might be blue blood.
Who bleeds blue? -
Hints that Gwen finds out he's Spidey. Dislike.
Also, harping on the costume again, the metal bits on his toes make him look like he's a tapdancer. -
Quote:This and the fact that when the studio pays for a certain actor, they want you to see the actor, especially his face. I still think that when something is filmed right, the mask can stay on. My favourite example is way back in Return of the Jedi. When Vader is watching the Emperor torture Luke, you can "see" the agony and indecision on his face, despite his mask.Or not many actors are willing to accept wearing a mask full time. Or they want the facial cues that don't show up when wearing a mask.
Not all actors can be Hugo Weaving.
I still dislike what they have done with the costume. The Raini one was perfect, but this one irritates me. Still, like BrandX, I have gone from "I will see it because it's Spidey, even though I am not looking forward to it" to "ok, this looks like it might be good." -
I do have one or two characters that are effectively immortal, but a group of about 5 of them are mid- to late-teens and have nothing to indicate that they should age slowly. Like Leo_G, I can pretty much relate what their lives will be like at any point, but most of them are still young heroes in my mind. I had to do a retcon with Maiden Canada as I originally had a mention of the Rikti invasion happening "a year ago" when she was 14. I had no experience with other MMOs and didn't know if the game would actually portray a passage of time. I expected it to be like comics, where the characters age very slowly, if at all.
