In for Sunday AM unless the 2nd run that you are organizing now does not work out. Thanks for coordinating, Capa!!
-
Welcome, Kinrad. Glad you could join the party!!
Shadow, I replied to your post, cool question. =)
Also, I posted up a question for those who are members of the group in terms of how events are posted and whether or not you would like to be notified via Facebook. I could certainly use your feedback in seeing what would be best.
Finally, one more to hit 150 members!! =) -
If it's a weekend run in the AM, I am in. I can do it at work, but a Master Run requires my undivided attention and as such I would rather not run one while I am at the office. Granted, I have done TF's and other stuff in the office, but I can AFK liberally as needed.
I would need all of the master runs on my main, so whenever you decide to run it, count me in with my blaster.
If we can get a consistent group together, we can work on the TF's until we "get it right" in terms of the Master run. -
I already have both, but I could help you get the weight division arena badges if you would like. Just shoot me a message in game or PM me here on the forums.

Thank you Shadow for organizing this lottery.
As for the entry:

@Armeros
Good luck to everyone! -
Do you have an approximate start time for the scavenger hunt?
Thanks. -
Will you be running the LGTF this week?
-
I thought about doing that, but RL issues made it impossible to deal with that. In the future, I will do just that. Thank you for your suggestion.

Posted it on the Facebook - Guardian page.
Hope you have a good turnout. -
While Dio's death is a tremendous loss to the hard rock/heavy metal community, Michael Jackson's death (by accident or negligence) was a significant event worldwide. Granted, whether those feel that he was a "pedophile" or not (he was acquitted at his trial and paid off his 1st accuser which leaves the door open for folks to make that claim and with some merit), his musical and cultural impacts are still resonating to this day. While his musical influence in the United States plummeted after the accusations, the string of hits that he had (from the days in the Jackson 5, to the Jacksons and his solo work) was staggering for any artist or band.
When Elvis Presley passed away, in my opinion was the 2nd day the music died. Another giant (no pun intended) who's music has transcended generations. John Lennon, James Brown, there are so many that have been lost over the years, but for the hard rock/metal fan, Dio would be (for now) near the top of the list.
I like Dio, I can't say I own anything by him and I have a Black Sabbath 2CD set of hits (which include some of his work), I know the solo hits and he did have a truly impressive set of pipes.
Hard rock/heavy metal music lost a legend. May he rest in peace. -
Just wanted to bump this back up again.
The group has grown to 135 members, so thanks to all the new folks who have come on board. We have a new influx of players coming in from other servers (which is nice to see). So, if you or any friends that have Facebook, but don't frequent the boards as much (if at all), then the Facebook page is a good way to stay up to speed on the comings and goings of the Guardian Server. If Facebook is the devil to you, then I understand.

It's great to see how this group has blossomed in the last few months. Hopefully the resurgence of the server is a harbinger of great things to come this year and beyond. -
Lucky you....I have had enough Dark Watcher Despair drops to make the set for every toon on the server 50 times over.
Since I don't do alot of farming, it's either solo missions or task forces and the drops in all honesty have been atrocious. Hopefully, my luck will improve.
As Capa said, it is nice of you to run these events and give away items. I posted it up on the Facebook Guardian page as well. -
Well, the May Day extravaganza has come and gone. Thanks for all those who came along this morning.

Amdek, we waited as long as we could for you to come back from your DC issue. I am sorry that you were unable to return to the TF. Hopefully, you did get the badge for your efforts.
Capa, hope your cat gets better real soon
I hope you all enjoyed the run as I did. Good teams make TF's a joy to do. Happy May Day and Comics Day (or whatever that is all about) -
Running behind schedule

Patiently waiting to round up the badges =) -
Wow, where to begin.
I started in September 2004, right before the release of Issue 2. I recall walking around in Atlas with Armeros and my buddy who turned me on to the game, who is no longer playing (off to WoW and he is currently serving in Iraq (2nd deployment)). We are both playing in the same room, and we both turn the corner and there is this huge eyeball that starts shooting at us.
The rest is history.
Almost 6 years, so many wonderful people that have come and gone (both from playing and sadly in real life), so many fun times, and in the end what once was just something to pass the time with became a little part of my life in these last 6 years.
So, happy birthday to City of Heroes. From humble beginnings, this game and community have grown and I look forward to many more years of being a hero (or a villain). -

Quote:Gasp...my toons are ugly....*cries*I wasn't on the TF, but I have seen Armeros in Guardian and Level 50 chat channel and run several TFs with him prior.
To be mad at this individual (no matter how ugly his toons are :P) is simply a crime against CoH. Armeros has been nothing but a fair player since I've known him.
You should see me in real life. The toons are supermodels compared to me! -
Thanks, Wulf. I appreciate it.
Also wanted to say thank you and I appreciate the kind words from fellow players. I try my best to make the TF fun and organized and as free of drama-related issues as possible (I, along with the vast majority deal with more than enough drama in the real world). They may not all succeed, but they will never end in dispute or with folks pissed off for anything.
I have been with Guardian from when I first started and with good folks like yourselves, it will never give me reason to go anywhere else.
Thank you all. -
I would hope that you decide to keep some toons here on Guardian. I would like to think that the Guardian community is pretty easing going as well, but like every server or community, there are those who may not feel the same or be difficult to play with (for whatever reason(s)).
I was on an ITF run on Saturday afternoon which almost failed, and there was much debate and conflict amongst the members of the TF as to how to finish of Rommie. Needless to say, after a dozen of so deaths and 3-4 resets, the group finally hit their stride and we were able to complete the TF. I do agree, that some players do take things too seriously (and that is the case as well wherever one would go).
I am sorry that you and/or your wife may have had some bad experiences with some players on the server. However, in my opinion, situations like those usually are in the minority. Since I don't have a red character that can run this TF, I am unable to participate, but if there is anything else that you decide to run or schedule that I can do, I would be more than happy to join up (if possible).
Feel free to reach me in game or send me a PM, @Armeros. -

For some of you whom this TF is too early for, this one is geared more towards the morning player (such as myself). Ariel is running a Posi on Friday night as well (see the link below):
http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=204744
If my play schedule allowed me to run these in the evenings, I would do so, but RL does not give me a ton of flexibility in this case. So, for the morning weekend warrior, you are most welcome to join us. -
Gonna run the new Positron Task Force on Saturday morning 05/01 at 8AM.
If you would like to join me, please feel free to add your name to the roster.
We will run both parts of the task force.

I wanted to take a second to explain what happened during the MoITF I organized on 04/24/2010 (around 3ish EST). I sent you a PM once you were on the team (explaining that if you were not coming, that I would need to fill out the squad), but I did not have your character name (only your @global) and when I run a TF, I have a list of folks that I keep in terms of who wanted in, etc. As folks arrive, I right-click their names on the chat menu so that I can then scratch them from my list and continue to recruit more folks (if needed).
Your character was hidden, so I was unable to verify you had joined in the TF. When I sent the PM to you, it was to make sure that you were coming (because again at this time, I thought you were not on the team as of yet), and I had 7 players in for the TF. I NEVER had any intention of dropping you because I picked another player. I have been playing this game for a long time and have organized my fair share of TF over the years and I have never done something like that. When I put a call out for a TF, I do my absolute best to ensure that the order in which I was asked to join a TF is correct.
You did not really give me much of an opportunity to explain myself to you. You then decided to block me (which is again, your choice). In the end, I felt the need to explain myself in hopes that you or someone you know in-game can explain this to you.
Once again, I had ZERO intention of bumping you for anyone else, and if you felt that way, I do apologize. In the end, the Master run was not to be, but we all had a good time playing it, which is in the end, the reason we all play this game.
I hope that someone who knows you or you are able to read this and understand that this was simply a misunderstanding.
Thank you

I was born in the early 70's and while I don't identify with the whole disco thing (thank goodness), I was able to enjoy the early 80's and the advent of what was MTV and to me the last great decade in music (80-85 more than 86-89) as well as the 60's (as Blacjac) mentioned.
The boy "band" craze was bad with the New Kids. My folks owned a record store and I ran it and the merchandising for the New Kids was beyond ridiculous. This was before the mainstream got a hold of the internet. Heaven forbid what that would have been like....
Today, if you want good music, you certainly wont find it on US Airwaves.
And for Noire, the members in the picture are
(Left to Right)
Front row:
Jordan Knight and Joey McIntyre
Back row:
Donnie Wahlberg, Danny Wood and Jonathan Knight
