"I do, and I can assure you. These walls are seamless." Cali sighed and she sat up holding her head. A falling peice of rubble had cluncked her on her head, otherwise she would've been able to start hovering insteed of falling into the trap with dazidly.
Her senses told her the hellion was still with them so she tapped the man's vital energy and spread it around the room, healing herself and everyone else up before another wave refreashed everyone.
"Ok, now that the small details are taken care of, what's this riddle you all are talking about? I can't see anything except the surface of the walls." -
Cali nodded and refreashed everyones boost before sending another ultrasonic croon at the remaining Hellions. Well aware that one of her erst-while allies was bound to shock them back to thier senses before too long, but at least this bought them a bit of time.
-
After tagging the last of her little band of playmates, Cali scouted the fourth floor without incident. Draining a few fires of energy and keeping her own topped off and boosted, she joined Solar Freeze and his 'date' down on the third floor.
An eyebrow arched as she felt the presence of the photographer from outside. Tapping the energy of a nearby fire, Cali boosted each of the heroes with increased recovery and movement.
"Fifth and fourth floors are clear." She reported simply. Her own eyes closed as they always were. -
After seeing which chair Virelai had taken and the one she was saving for her, Stella took Naga to the next chair over dropped her off.
"Ok, squidy-back done. Lunch time! I can take you for another ride after though if you want." The khedlian child chirped. The scream from Vee and the activity around the new, freaky, boy distracted her and before she knew what was going on, it was over.
Popping back into human, Stella flitted over to Vee and looked at her in concern. "You ok? Want me to beat him up?"
Ani harumphed at the childish displays of Burning and Devin. After thumping Ruby and Onyx for thinking with stomaches they didn't even have in the first place, the red-head dropped into a chiar, her toy bots sulking behind her. Seeing Nessie's look, Ani smiled slightly and gave a small wave before picking up her sandwhich. -
Milly started slightly at Penny's unexpected greating, and again at the condition the woman was in. However, before she could ask what had happened, Penny had hustled into Mr. Tharomar's office. Her concern warring with her desire to get the heck away from that creapy guy in Mr. T's office.
Running her night collection rounds seemed to go a lot quicker then normal, and almost before she knew it, her mail cart was stocked with the nightly shipping. Shrugging, Milly bustled about the mail room, cleaning it up for the night and getting a few things ready for the morning, all the while thankful her 'boss' had already left. -
Cali lowered herself to the ground as Solar Freeze and Hermod spoke. She sensed the odd camra man and, at frist was about to ask him to leave the crime scene, to say nothing of the area itself, which was still very much a danger. However, she also realized no single reporter would even be able to get to the building, let alone through the gate unless they had a Freedom Corp card and some form of advanced motive means. As odd as he was acting, the man was apparently able to take care of himself.
Unfortunately, by the time she thought this through, the other two had already moved into the building. Sighing, she cliped the comm device to her headband and flew up to the fifth floor. Inhaling slightly, she opened her mouth and a wave of kinetic energy howled out and shattered the window of a room that had yet to catch the rest of the way ablaze.
Skimming into the building, the blind woman bounced echoes everywhere, giving her a more accurate and omni-directional view of her surroundings. A tug sent the energy from a nearby fire into her own system, sputtering the flame out while kicking her into overdrive. Zipping into the hall, Cali reconed the floor and found one patch of Hellians working their way down, excited talk about catching a hero off guard on the third floor. The police officer smirked and sent an untrasonic wave that scrambled and benumbed the gangers thoughts, leaving them standing still in a daze. Calmly positioning herself above them, she shifted the entirety of their energy into herself and howled at them from above, knocking them out for several hours and ensuring them a nasty headache when they did wake up, in the Zig processing cells.
"Hello Hermod," Cali said after the other heroes, slightly more formal greating. "I'm Patrol Officer Califa Claxton, Kings Row PD, Cape and Cowl Division. Registered at Freedom Corp as a mutation originated defender under the call sign Obsidian Song. I utilize kinetic manipulations and focused sonic emissions." -
Milly started slightly at the touch and looked up at Mr. D with wide eys. "No... no I'm... I'm fine." She stuttered, dispite her words, she began to sway slightly as the drug began working through her system.
No! Stupid girl you can't go fainting in the big bosses office! What would dad say? Get it together! Squinching her eyes tightly, she jerked her head and tried to force the sudden lethargy away.
Mr. D felt a slight tingle travel up his arm, fadding almost as soon as his mind felt it. His own heartrate slowed and for a second it felt like his head was stuffed with cotton like during a cold. Though that too, faded shortly.
Milly stood straight and gave Mr. Tharomar a smile and a quick bob of a curtsy before slipping out from the agent's arm.
"That won't be needed sir, I'm ok now. I'll be back up around 4 to pick up any late posts you have sir. Have a nice day Mr Tharomar, sir." She nodded to Mr. D before moving out of the office at a slightly rapid pace. -
Coasting to a stop, Cali sensed a figure over the infurno. The return image didn't match any known profiles she had of the typical gangs that infested the derilict neiborhood. Assuming the floating figure was a hero of some sort, and was, if her sonics and kinetic sense were correct, fighting the fires.
He'll need to move faster than that to cover the whole building before it falls. She thought with an amused smile. Reaching a hand to Solar Freeze, Obsidian Song increased his energy potential up nearly three fold.
"Good evening." The jean and jacket clad woman called as she drifted closer. "This make any sense to you?" Even as she began her subtle interrogation, she make a yanking gesture to the fires and pulled energy from it, imparting some to her and the other hero. -
Things were pretty clear cut in Paragon. At least to the adverage citizen. There was the heroes everywhere, all loosly affiliated with Freedom Corps, at least enough to get a card and do thier heroing. A few formed stronger ties to a division in that orginization and became Longbow Wardens. Then there was the police who worked with Longbow to keep the streets safer. Normal men and women who daily faced against invading metahumans from the Rouge Isles as well as the more mundan threats of Hellians, Skulls and the so called 'low threat level' groups that populated Atlas Park, Galaxy City and Kings Row.
There were, however, certain metas who didn't quite fit that mold. They had no interest in either brandishing a card and slipping into skin-tight outfits. The only thing they felt they needed was the golden shield assigned to every police officer. For a while, however, becoming licensed heroes was the closest they could get. That was until a pair of long time officers in Kings Row sited Blue Steel as an example that the police force could have heroes on the payroll and they would work withing the more confining strictures of police work.
Detective Theodore Greynn, a long time police officer and recent, accidental fusion with a young Peacebringer was placed in charge of the newly formed Cape and Cowl division of the Kings Row Police Department. Police Officer Jerrem Asterson, a beat cop who was in the wrong place at the wrong time and found his soul placed into a Circle Mage's experiment gone wild and now inhabited a regeneritive foxwoman fleash golem was asked to return from the pure heroing he had been forced into to be his second in command.
An ecclectic group of youngsters were gathered by the two. Each one not only a registered hero but also a badged police officer. One such was a young woman who had dreamed of being nothing except a police officer like her father in the Mid-West, a dream that, for her entire life, was apparently impossibe since she had been born blind.
Neither Peter Claxton, nor his daughter Califa let that stop them from planing for it. The young girl was a regular sight at her father's Denver preicent, and well liked amung the officers under Chief Claxton's command. When her powers manifasted during an attempted mugging, Cali suddenly found a new option opened to her. Utilizing hyper sonic waves, the girl was able to get an accurate picture of everything around her. Saddly, even this improvement was not enough to allow her to join the Academy. Then rumors of the C&CD came down to them.
Moving to Paragon and registering herself in the Freedom Corp database, Cali found and joined the KRPD C&C Division. It was while passing dispatch the Cali's sharp ears first caught wind of something odder then normal up in Boomtown. With nothing but paperwork, an action that was a literal headache in order to concentrate her sonics to a fine enough point to read the print, Cali dispatched herself to investigate.
A convenient group of Mages attempting to preform a ritual on a captured boy provided a much needed boost, after sending the unconcious mages to the Zig, Cali took the energy they obviously had too much of and ran for the gate. Arriving in the shattered remains of the city zone, Cali was thankful she was able to get exactly which building was torched.
Concentrating, she shifted the motion of her own energies and took to the sky. -
"Y... yes'sir. It's right here." Milly hurried forward and set the letter on his desk, absently looking at the other man in the room.
I watched the Matrix series too much. She thought, That guy just reminds me of Agent Smith. I wanna get out of here please.
"Is... is there anything you would like mailed at the moment sir? I can take it down if you would like. Otherwise I should get back to the mail room." -
"Hey! How rude!" Sapphire complained as Burning knocked her over. Ruby retailiated by swinging his hammer at the back of Burning's knee.
Most of the fireball splashed against a thin bubble that burst with the hit. "Ha!" Diamond crowed as she lauched a double barreled blast of water at Burning.
"Lunch time!" Essex's voice called. Like a switch, the bots ran from Burning and toward the table.
"Hey! Ye canna eat ye clunckheads!" Ani called as she skimmed after them.
Stell pulled up short as Essex and the others moved out of the kitchen. Wrapping a pair of tenticles around Naga, she turned sharply and swam toward the table. "C'mon Virelai, those sandwhiches looked tasty!" -
Ani frowned as her net was ruined. ""n here they said that it was made from inflamable fibers." She frowned, "Oh well, it did what Ah wanned it to."
With Burning in range, the three battle toys hit him with their plastic hammers even as Diamond fired off a volley of nerf missles and a splash of water from her cannons.
Stell wiggled and dropped lower to the ground, low enough for Naga to reach her. "Whoa! Ok, free ride to the kitchen." She told Naga.
"I'm not actually from another planet. They don't really have bodies, they're kinda-sorta like living ghosts. Sure I can eat... just not liek this... I need to be human for that and that's kinda trickier then it sounds." Wiggling in embarassment, Stell followed after Virelai. -
Ani smiled at him. "Goin' down." She smiled right before flinging her weighted net on him.
-
Stell unwrapped her tenticles from her eyes and wiggled excitedly.
"I'm Stellarmare, but you can call me Stell, I'm an alien! Well," A few tenticles scratched the side of the Nova's head. "I'm half alien anyways."
Ruby hopped around Burning, annoyed that he was out of hitting range. "Cheater-cheater used sock eater!" He taunted firing his laser pointer at the hovering firebug. Sapphire and Emerald came up behind him and, after Sapphire bonked him on the head, joined in writting their names on Burning with their lasrers.
Three other machine toys walked up and just looked at the hovering boy, who suddenly felt a tap on his shoulder. -
"Eek! Sorry 'bout that." The Nova wiggled back in embarassment, four of her then tenticles wrapping over her face.
"Charge!" A tinny voice suddenly cried out from the stairs.
A small toy hopped down to the main floor waving a plastic hammer in place of one hand.
"Dummy! Don't do that!" A girlish voice followed behind as a pair of nearly identical toy followed.
"Ah thinl Ah messed up s'where with him." Ani commented as Ruby ran for Burning.
"Look on the bright side," Diamond replied. "After that kid melts him you can try again." -
Milly shook herself as Mr. Tharomar's voice echoed over the intercom. Putting her fanciful thoughts from her mind, the nine-teen year old entered the room.
"Um, Mr. Tharomar? There was a letter for you in the morning post." She took a few steps into the office, not quite sure what the man behind the desk wanted of her. -
Milly leaned forward, she thought she heard voices from Mr. Tharomar's office. She had stepped out down the hall to make use of the water fountain, she had just gotten back and was sure there were suddenly voices in there.
"Maybe I should knock... just to make sure." She mumbled, before tapping twice on the door nervously.
I couldn't have just heard Mr. Tharomar ordering someone killed... that kind of stuff only happens on TV. She assured herself.
((Devious, you walked right by Milly.Poor girl.))
-
Stell hovered over to Virelai with a look of conceren. Biting her tounge slightly, the khedlian child reached out and touched the naid gently on her shoulder. Kheldian energy pulsed from the contact, though with a more green tinge then it's normal briliant white. The cut and soreness around Virelai's thumb vanished in a tingle of energies.
Smiling broadly at actually managing what she wanted for a change. Stell leaned forward and hugged the other girl.
"All better now!" She chirped, just before she sneezed and exploded in a burst of light.
Virelai suddenly found herself being held closly by a multi-tenticled space squid. -
Milly stood by the door to Mr. Tharomar's office, hoping she didn't seem as nervous as she felt. His letter held carefuly in her hands, extra special care taken to make sure it wasn't crinkled or crunched. For the hundreth time, she looked at her self to make sure she didn't look too dingy.
The cream dress blouse and brown vest matched her skin tone and hair well enough, though neither was much to begin with she thought. Her pleated brown skirt had a dark green trim to give it a modest splash of color without being garish and her sensible pumbs not only showed off her legs but wouldn't brake her feet by the end of the day with the amount of walking she did around the building.
With another deep breath, Milly shuffled and tried to look as cooly professional as the secritaries she had seen working for both Mr. Thomas and Mr. Tharomar looked. -
((You know, I'd like to join, but Nightrayne and maybe Tam are the only ones I know of who've met Ian in SH101 and 24HV. :/ While nice, I can't exactly think of a way for either to get the invitation.))
-
Rache would like to sing, mainly because that's the closest she gets to playing anything.
So if she had to play something, best give her something simple to learn on first.
I, personally, played clarinet in high school. Not exceptionally well mind you, but I was mostly annoyed because I had wanted to play sax. Too many sax players already by the time she got to me though. ;_; -
With her icypac put to good use, Ani nodded and shimmied up to the rooms, gathering several peices of apparently random materiels and swiping some of Toy's older models for his own toy soldiers.
"Wooph." Was all Stell said as Ghoul pushed her off. Climbing to her feet, Stell looked around curiously. Slumping down when she realized the war was over, she sulked her way back to the house, not realizing her footfalls spashed out the standing water out to truly impressive distences. -
;_;
::hides her measly 774 song HD::
I thought more the 2 days stright without hearing the same song twice was good.. -
Stell flicked around in her Malfanin form, only hitting the side of the house three times, the tree twice and a bird once as she tried to control her flight. Seeing the fight start back up, she wiggled joyfully and dropped into Kukurt form. Forgeting that she was twenty feet in the air, the dawrf fell on top of Ghoul with a thick Thump!
Ani, deciding that the boys wierd too icky, most of the girls were wierd but cool and her cloak was dry enough, skimmed across the yard and into the house. Looking curiously at the sprite and the still sniffling Burning, she sighed and approched the firekid.
"'Ere." She said, holding out a icypac she pulled from her bag.
She really wanted to get upstaires and work on her own bots... that Toy kid had some, why couldn't she? It wasn't fair. -
Heh, I was actucally surprised I managed to make Fyreflight hold her own against Granash and Balsk. If you would've had them force another round I'm pretty sure she would've fallen. Was very fun though.
