I like taking stamina, but sometimes I'll hold off until 24 or 26, just because I really want to get more new powers that aren't passive. I'm a shooter that way.
Now, don't be a jerk about this, but when I solo, I like to keep a book or comic next to me, so I can do something while I regenerate if rest isn't recharged. But of course, that's kind of stupid in a group. If you plan on grouping, get stamina. -
Okay, okay, I'm sorry I said that no one likes khelds. It's just that something like two years ago there would be one in every sewer team, and I have yet to see one this year.
I also take back my comments about the game seeming to be over at 50. I've had a change of heart (for example, my main villain was an mm, and I was a devoted mm-er, but I started a corruptor and it was awesome). But you have to admit, extra rewards are nice (especially power costumizations! How about pool power customization, huh? Color tintable super speed? Think about it). -
global: @zaptron
Chars on freedom:
1) robo/pois mastermind
2) emp/elec defender (soon, just gotta transfer)
3) ele/ele tanker
4) db/wp stalker ('nother transfer, if necccessary)
5) other lowbies of little importance
Respec willing: I've got too many free respecs as it is, of course.
New char rolling: certainly
PvP experience: zone, a few random arena matches -
I don't know about anyone else, but on my first playthroughs of CoH and CoV to level 50, I was most encouraged because I was intrigued with the epic archetypes (you always want what you can't have). Then, understandably, for a n00b (such as myself) a little glamour is lost.
They were a brilliant business scheme, even though no one really likes khelds, because it kept people playing.
Why haven't we seen more of this?! I'm not suggesting that the devs spend years making a long system of epics, but how about a side project? How about unlockable powersets (for instance, quarterstaff for scrappers, or pistols for blasters), or more of a focus on unlockable customization (how about a crossbow?), that requires people to get to certain levels with certain archetypes in certain ways. That way, people won't feel they've completed everything by the time they get to 50 with a hero and a villain (mind you, they haven't, but it may feel like it).
However, this may just be a dream. obviously, a lot of playtesting is required for this to happen. But surely one or two unlockable powersets could be introduced in an issue, and we'd still have room for new content (see issue 13).
