I don't mean to hijack this thread, but I am leveling my earth/storm as well. Just one quick question for Local - how much does your build cost? I see a few purps in there so I am thinking your build might be out of my budget range for now. Otherwise thanks for the advice folks and good luck to the OP.

After returning to CoH (again), I am determined to get this character to 50 (currently 48). So basically I slapped this build together based on my research in the forums coupled with basic (noob-like) knowledge on how the sets/bonuses mesh together. As you can tell, it is not finished. I am open to any and all suggestions. Some powers I chose, like hover/fly, are for concept reasons, others like the Mace Mastery set ruin the concept of my character (the mace and pet) but I understand the importance of Scorpion Shield. I would be willing to take any powers to fill the empty slots for set bonuses, I just may not use them all that often. The powers I have slotted I already use in my rotations and plan to keep. Currently I am unsure if I should keep Siphon Power or replace it as I don't know how it works with Fulcrum Shift.

Hello All,
These events sound like a lot of fun. I've been playing CoH off and on since beta and have yet to see even 50% of this game. These events sound like a good old fashioned way to check out the game and avoid excessive farming. And believe or not, I still have yet to get a toon to 50 (closest is 46 due to altitis). I wish I could join in but your times are bit late for a working dad on the east coast. Is there another time or day events are run? Maybe something on weekends? I have been looking to push onto blue side since I can switch all my favorite CoV classes over now. Organized leadership is a rare and important thing in mmos and I think what you are doing here is great!

Thanks for the replies! So far I have been running a bots/ff in the hopes that the buff update will fix the tedium of the shields. I won't know for sure how enjoyable it is till I have the assault bot and everything is slotted. I did enjoy thermal on my corruptor and will definitely consider it for my demon build, but pain domination just sounds cool. As for the /storm set, I gave that to a lowbie corrupotor and will try it there for now.

So after returning from another hiatus, I am trying to start up a new MM or two. My first mastermind was a ninja/dark. Overall I was not too happy with the way ninjas worked out, especially the Oni. I have been trying to start a bots MM, but I am having a hard time deciding on a secondary. I have read through the posts in the forums but I would like to hear some detailed opinions on any of the secondaries and their combo with bots. For some background, I do like playing support roles as well and I love to group when I can. In fact too much soloing in this game tends to bore me.
I have narrowed the list of secondaries to:
/ff - I like the defense, but will this one be too boring at later levels and is it helpful for incarnates?
/traps - This seems to be popular in the forums right now.
/pain - This one is support oriented, but not sure if it meshes well with bots.
/storm - I played a storm controller and I do like the set.
I have also been considering starting a demons/pain, demons/dark, or demons/thermal. As you can tell I am suffering from some serious indecisiveness.

I am interested. I just came back after a hiatus and need to find some purpose to get me going again. I have a 42 ninja/dark that I have ye to dust off, plus I have been trying to start a bots/something. (Having a hard time choosing between /ff, /traps, or /pain). But I would love to put both toons in there to help out when I can. I tend to play casually, but I can be on for scheduled events in the evenings/nights. My ninja/dark is Dark Master Tiamat and when I settle on a secondary for bots I'll get him in too.

Thanks for the replies. After messing around on some of my toons last night, I realize I left myself in a good position. I do have the Ourobos Ports and Pocket D ports, probably from a previous booster pack or something. I was checking out the day jobs, and I will have to get into a bit more. I currently have a 42 MM, a 33 Rad/Kin Corr, a 28 Fire/Therm Corr, and a 35 Earth/Storm Con. It would seem I decked out my Rad/Kin Corr in some set IOs, of which I will have to explore fully, because I am not even sure I am putting the right IOs in the right powers.
Probably one of the newest features that I am really enjoying at the moment is the ability to change the color of my powers as that is what was one of the highlights I enjoyed with CO. But I digress.
I have a few more questions based on the above replies.
What does it mean to Frankenslot?
Do I have to buy the AE edition or do I get normal access to the AE content with the Issues? I would rather spend the 20 bucks on 2 booster packs. -

I have recently reactivated my account after an almost 2 year hiatus from this game, due mainly to starting my own little family and an extended jaunt with WoW. CoH/V has always held a special place in my heart. Of course I have tried out Champions Online, but I find it lacking compared to its predecessor. CO still has a ways to go before I would consider playing it long term.
So now for my questions:
What major changes should I take into consideration?
Is it difficult to form groups with current server populations? I remember that this game is best played in groups for maximum carnage. I was never a big fan of soloing. I did move over to the Freedom server this purpose alone.
Last time I considered returning to the game, I read that the Architect aspect ruined the game as people were farming player made missions all the time. Has this been fixed? And if so, do people still run regular missions for leveling? Where do I go for Architect missions creation/playing?
One of my favorite classes to play is the MM. I have been reading that slotting reduction in my minions is a big no no now? Is this correct?
Thanks in advance for any help. I will be slowly getting back into the grove of things as my play time is slightly limited. Most of the other information I will look for as I research the forums. BTW - I enjoy playing mostly on the red side, but my major goal for now is to get at least 1 toon to level 50. I believe I still have one at 40, so I am almost there.

Question about the swap file in virtual memory. I have 2 gigs of ram and I usually run teamspeak and possibly internet explorer in the background, would it cause problems turn of the swap option for my virtual mememory?
