  1. Doesn't look like you've changed much... your power order looks much better than mine, and your Blazing Aura is slotted slightly different with 2 Dmg instead of my 2 extra taunts.

    I forgot the power time factor.
    Should be 1 EndRdx in Ice Patch

    Where do you think the 2 free slots taken from Ice Patch should be placed?

    Ok, once again it's time to respec my Fire/Ice Tanker, I haven't respec'd her since Issue5 was released

    I ran a new build past my good friend Dawnie (aka Shannon) the other day, and well... put it this way, it was total pants, days later I think she is still laughing

    Thanks Dawnie for highlighted things about slotting characters that I had previously not considered properly.

    So with all Dawnie's suggestions in mind, plus a slow day at the office , I have been reading the Tanker section on the Forums all morning trying to figure out a new Fire/Ice build (mainly slotting).

    Here is what I have so far (includes Dawnie's suggestions):
    I may have got a few wrong as I did it from memory.

    Bare in mind, this is NOT a final build, I am looking for mainly a PvE build which will also fair well in PvP.

  8. Pure PvE, you're never going to use this for PvP ever?
    Ok, if that is the case lose the ToHit in Aim & Build Up.

    IMO, best to be prepared for anything the game throws at you and balance out PvE / PvP capabilities but if you're happy with PvE only thats fair enough

    I agree Thunder Strike does take a sec to activate due to the animation, but it looks awsome! and yeh some Tankers get annoyed with the Knockback, some don't I know a few who love the quick kills that it helps achieve.

    Only problem I had with all them AoE's is the amount of aggro it pulls but if you can kill them quick it don't really matter.

    This depends if you want to hit the major defence sets or not... 1 Total hit Buff wont do a lot of good, 2 or more are required to land a hit.

    Losing 3rd damage? When damage is your primary purpose? There is no way you have so few slots that that's justified.

    I was only talking about the weaker powers... but this really depends on your play style.
  10. Looks pretty good... would change a few things:

    I would lose Health and put in Swift... this will maximise movement. Health is pointless with 1 heal in it, it's only effective with 3 heal and thats debatable.

    Personally, i'd only go for 2 holds and lose Shocking Grasp for Thurder Strike as it does a lot of damage.

    Not sure on the whole 2 travel powers thing... seems like a waste of a power to me.

    Definately add a 3rd recharge to Powersink.

    Build up and Aim really need at least 1 Total Hit Buff.

    I am not a fan of Static Discharge... I would go with Voltaic Sentinel instead.

    If you're struggling for slots like I do on my Elec / Elec / Elec build losing the 3rd damage on some of the weaker powers is ok.

    I would tend to go Shocking Bolt... if you can hold your enemy he/she can't hit you... but on the other hand Static Discharge is a good end drain but the recharge ain't great if memory serves... haven't used it in a long time. [img]/uk/images/graemlins/smirk.gif[/img]

    You've totally ignored my comments about intred in aid self, you shold go to test and try this power on any toon you have available, its base interrupt window is already tiny and as I've said many times before, ona blaster if you need 2 intreds chances are you are taking enough damage to die regardless of the 480 odd heal
    pre HOs you may want 2 reced in shcoking bolt, it's slower than TC and has a longer duration. do some testing and see if you can hold through a scrappers mez resist with TC and SB
    1 endmod is pretty pointless in VS, if you had 3 dmg and 2 acc I would say sure go for endmod, but it's not like you have that much spare, SC and it's -rec and PS's drain overshadow VS's -end, it just helps pin people to 0, if you're serious about endmod there then add 3, but I think you'll find the barrage of elec drains anything fast enough [img]/uk/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]

    If you're struggling for slots remember that the 3rd dmg SO only ever adds about 18-20% so you can skip it if you feeel you need another slot in a power which doesn't have 2 of the same type of SO in i yet, so 2 acc 2dmg 1 recred will mean you do decent enough DPS. Last night I was soloing 2 man spawns of 4/5 +2/3 7th gen PPs and I swear the 3rd dmg slot wasn't what made me win, it was the holds and the drains and Aim and BU

    You've hit the nail right on the head mate... I am struggling for slots.

    I may have to drop the 3rd dmg slot on my attacks and add them to Aim and Buildup for Recharge.

    You've right about VS, slotting config with 1 endmod is pointless really... need to run some more numbers and sort that last bit out.

    And I completely forgot about intredux in aid self will fix this in next build.

    slot all your attakc powers with 2 acc 3 damage 1 recharge, and for the volcanic sentilen you should slot it with 3 end mod 2 acc is enough. And your nuke TB should be slotted with 3 damage 3 recharge, only fire it off with yo uhit aim and build up. and besides it doesnt drain you if you only hit one target, which makes it the best nuke in pvp, as well that it's ranged. so you can basacly continue to attack the person you hit after you nuke.

    Thanks, I have read them before... the problem with these builds for me is that they seem to be one extreme to the other, they are either PvE or PvP, I want a perfect balance if it is even possible, if it's not then thats what I hope to find out from this thread.
  23. Like I said these this is an initial build... a starting point.

    To be honest I have never been a fan of Short Circuit my very first build back in Issue 3 had it and I've had it one other time since.

    But if plight wants to convince me it's worth having please do so as that is what I have started this Post for.

    I want to make a kinda perfect PvE / PvP balance (if it is even possible), I have tried several times using up my respec's (IDIOT) now I am waiting for yet another free respec from the developers when Issue 8 is released (fingers crossed we get a free respec) and when that time comes I want to be 100% happy with my build so I am starting to get the build together now...
