Hey Mental! LTNS. I hope everything is going well for you. The husband & I are not sure where we are heading yet. He wants to move his tank from Liberty to Freedom. We will see.
-
Thanks, we have been back playing for a few days. Both of us plan on respecting but our eyes go crossed as soon as we look at all the changes. We are going to work on changing to Villain then pick a patron. After that, we hope to look into the architect and incarnate add ons.
I really do appreciate the help and advice. It is a lot to take in. I am a newbie again. -
Thank you! I have stumbled over many new aspects of the game. A lot more has changed than I thought. I will bookmark your links for future reference.
Has anyone tried and liked or disliked the patron pools on a Fire/Kin Controller or any Controller? -
My husband and I have returned to the game after a long absence. Some of his friends returned to their villains and asked us to join them. Most of my bookmarks and the information I collected are obsolete. I am hoping that you all can answer a few questions and help with a request.
My husband has a Fire/Axe/Fire Tank and I have a Fire/Kin Controller. I found the information explaining how to switch sides to a Villain. However, I want to make sure we do our research before we make the move.
I can not find any information concerning the epic pools if you switch sides. I assume a Tank can take the Brutes. If it is allowed of course. Does a Controller get a choice of the Dominator or Mastermind ones? Has anyone had any experience with the Villain epics?
Our chars are equipped with SOs. The architect expansion is completely new to us. I found out yesterday that Stamina is inherent now so I know I have a lot of reading to do. I haven't changed by build so I am not asking for a critique yet. I do not mind doing the research but I have been coming up short trying to find current information. Could someone please post any links that would help me or answer any of my questions.
Thanks! -

In Issue 12 they are changing Assassin Strike to Assassin Heal, didn't you hear? Stalkers now heal the enemies.

LOL

Well, Villains don't get this news on their front page. I guess it is Heroes only.
-
Personally, I am glad they are giving us the option to display or not to display. It would be more convenient for the default to set to hidden but I am not going to make a big deal about it. It takes me about 30 minutes to log on 2 servers worth of chars. I like most of the features discussed but I don't like the idea of my friends list being public.

if this is going to be something that reflects our stats on the website, I am against something like this as it just gives the RMT spammers something to work with especially if it is a friends list.

Ack! I forgot about them. I get spam mail and tells in game every day. I have to go on hide to avoid the #$%. -
Sweet!
I like looking through others builds. I spend hours on Suckerpunch's site scanning builds. Some slot in ways I hadn't thought of before.
I may actually be able to see some of what a few PvPers have up their sleeves with the new feature. -
WOW! Thank you very much for making this guide. It is very well thought out and has an easy to read format.
A++ to you! -

Thanks for the explanation. I had another question reguarding IOs also. Somone told me that you can only have up to 5 of the same set bonus and after that they because useless. So for example if you have 5 regen IO set bonuses and then you add another set with regen bonus that last one wont do anything. Is there any truth to that? If so does that count unique IO bonuses?
[/ QUOTE ]
People mean the actual percentage should not be dublicated more than 5 times because any after that will not count.
In the below link you could have five 12%, five 10% etc. The name of the set offering +regen doesn't matter. Look at the percentages they give and keep that at five or under when you make a build.

Did they fix the text on the IO that used to be 30% Mez Resistance and is now 7.5%? It's not the Aegis Unique, it's another one [not unique as it happens.]

From patch notes:

Impervious Skin: Status Resistance - value reduced from 30% to 7.5% and unique status removed. Players can now slot this enhancement up to 5 times for the bonus.

I am at work so I can't check to see if it changed in game. -
I tried to play around with my lvl 10 Brute tonight and my husband and I spent one hour chasing down Lts to finish a mission in Port Oakes.
Mission was defeat PitBull and thugs.
Dark/Elec Brute lvl 10
Ice/Kin Corr lvl 8
I had my husband hang around the corner away from the mooks. I would run into a group of 5 or so with 2-3 Lts. As soon as I got close, 2 or more Lts would take off running. I did not do any damage to the ones that ran.
I realize I do not have taunt or an aura yet. I have never had +1 Mook Lts run just by getting close to them. If I ran after them they would run further. Sometimes all they had to do was see me and they would run. We managed to finish the mission by defeating the minions first then praying AS stuck as we ran after the Lts. I hope this is a glitch that will be fixed.
We didn't have any problems with minions. A few ran at low health but that is normal for us. The Lts were the problem. -
I noticed this playing my Fire/Axe last night. I was not using Burn. I had the same experience as Wings. The mobs would stop running away when I used Taunt.
I can't say if this is happening on the COV side. The characters I have been playing there can root mobs. I can test it out this weekend. -
I come across many more newbies than noobs.
I will start with something I did during the first week of getting COH. I had never teamed before and found myself in PP. I was exploring the area when I got invited to a team. It was a multi level cave mission and we finished the mission pretty fast. After completition, I was trying like crazy to find a way to climb up the levels to exit the mission. A kind member finally decided I had suffered enough and informed me of the click mission complete to exit. I wondered how they got out so fast!
My latest encounter with a newbie was in my 20s with my new Corr. He was a MM and I noticed his bots were not doing the damage I had seen other bots do. I have only tried a MM once so I am by no means an expert on slotting. His problem became clear when he mentioned that 6 slotted flight didn't seem much faster. The team was breaking up but no one said anything to him. I sent him a few privates asking him his slotting. He was not aware of ED and was confused on what some of his enhancements did. After a 15 minutes conversation and him reslotting his powers, we tried a mission together. There was a huge difference. That 15 minute conversation resulted in a global friend and many missions together.
So I say, before anyone writes someone off as a noob, try talking with them. Sometimes they just don't know any better. Besides, I am pretty sure most of us have done something in the game (when we first started playing) that we would consider newbish now. I know there are childish or annoying players out there that refuse to learn. I am glad I haven't crossed many of their paths.
