Are there gonna be any updates to this build since Issue 12 was released? Or perhaps after Issue 13 which is coming up?
-
I would rather NCSoft and the development team, in their new digs, re-double their efforts in ehancing the current format of CoX by adding new features, working out bugs, and just improving on the overall playability and functions the game already has.
With all the issues that have been released there are still problems with enemies your toon fights getting stuck in a wall, hiccups at Wentworths, lag during game play, spammers in the game, etc. These little things need to be fixed first along with adding all the wonderful oo shiny content that has been added over the past issues.
One arguement being debated on the forum is what to do with LVL 50 toons once you get there along with the rather lack luster "ta dah" that happens when we reach the end game ie lvl 50. Since this is the maximum level we can reach, perhaps the devs could make more content regarding what happens when a toon crosses that threshold.
Another arguement I have heard is that players don't necessarily want more lvls after 50, but want to be able to get the rest of the enhancement slots available for any powers that they were only able to put 2 slots on when it is possible to have 6, but they reached lvl 50 before they could add any more. One possibility to do this is through the new Orobours missions.
At any rate I hope the developers will continue the great work they are doing and look forward to more content as the year goes by. -

You weren't looking for help from a fellow player. You were either looking for an explanation to why you can't six slot your last power selection or suggesting that you get more than 3 slots when you level to 50 so you can six slot your last power. Then you asked why there's a level cap at 50. Then why can't you get more server slots. All of these are questions directed more to the developers than players. When long time players who cruise these boards looking to help fellow players with legitimate questions and problems responded, your response was less of a "thank you" and more of a "you are an idiot, I'm right, your wrong, my friends agree, the customer is always right, etc." You came off like someone who posts on WoW boards.

In re-reading what I said I do apologize for coming off the way others took what I was trying to ask. My intent was not to start a fight or insult. However, I did feel the need to defend myself when the replies went from ,"Hey you need to post this here instead." to "You are an idiot that can't even navigate a forum and a cry baby for not letting us reply in degrading manner to you." As you can see I have only made a few posts on here and I don't deny I'm new to the forum. One thing I have learned is that if and when I have 5000+ posts on here, I will be more patient and less derogatory if I come across a situation like this in a forum. Thanks again for your answers and help in this matter. -

Well first of all Kellis is right, this should be reposted in the Suggestion board further down, where it will be ripped apart quicker than the public feeding of live animals to lions at Chinese zoos. So wear a thicker skin than you've shown here with AnotherDeadHero, they are less polite down there.
[/ QUOTE ]
At this point what would be the point of re-posting it there to be "ripped apart" as you have pointed out. A thicker skin, perhaps, but what's the point of having a forum if a person can't ask a question. I did search for the questions I have asked on here under the search option using and not using quotes with the specific verbiage and it lead me to no where. Obviously I stuck my neck out doing this and well thanks for handing me my head back. I'm not in the habit of posting something to be "shame on you'd" in reply. Lesson learned.

So is your problem is that from the time you have access to ancillary/patron powers at level 40, that with your last four power choices, you only get 18 extra slots to spread across them? Or is it that you get only 3 extra slots with each of your last two power choices giving you 8 slots to spread across two powers, maxing out your last power with only 4 slots?
[/ QUOTE ]
I don't have a problem to begin with, but I am asking about, " Or is it that you get only 3 extra slots with each of your last two power choices giving you 8 slots to spread across two powers, maxing out your last power with only 4 slots?" -
Thank you for your input on the subject and I think I'm asking the question about power slots incorrectly. My question is why is it not possible for a power to have all it's slots in other words 6 total by the time a toon reaches lvl 50? Most of the powers I have have all 6 six slots filled, except for a couple of epic and power pool powers. I'm basically saying it would be nice to be able to get the remaining slots for those powers perhaps as a veteran reward or just an additional end game feature for reaching lvl 50. If that would not be possible then could it be possible to allow more enhancement slots to be given out as the toon increases in lvls, in other words in stead of 2 in lvls 1-10 do 4 and then increase the increments as the character advances in levels so that in the end each power has the maximum amount of slots available for the player to stack or put which ever enhancments they choose?
I do appreciate the lvl cap otherwise and understand your explanation, however, would it be a horrible thing to hope for in the future?
As for the number of characters on a server I'm sorry for sounding greedy, I understand that there has to be a line drawn where this is concerned too. The matter for me is that I currently have 36 characters spread across 3 different servers and I was looking for options. It can't be done I understand it and will let it be.
Please don't misinterpret what I am asking and saying as me being anti CoX because nothing could be farther from the truth. A friend of mine got me into CoX and the truth is I deeply considered buying it when it was just CoH 4 years ago, but was turned off by the idea of paying a monthly fee to play a video game. Now that I am playing it I'm cool with it and truly love it. Suffice to say this is one of a few games out there with real potential and being someone that keeps moving forward and see the potential in something I'm chomping at the bit for what the future holds for CoX. Personally I'm not even remotely interested in MUO game coming out and think it won't fly. CoX is the original and it rocks! -

You really slot your powers that way? One of each? Wow, um, ok, the 6 months of to level 50 becomes clearer. Kudos to you!
[/ QUOTE ]
Thanks for assuming that I slot my characters in this manner. Keeps handing out the rope for AnotherDeadHero to hang himself with.
[ QUOTE ]
If you think my tongue is forked, you obviously do not have a lot of experience on forums. My attempt was only to predict the response you may have and reply to it ahead of time for your convenience.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, way to go with the crystal balling and yet another heaping pile of assumption.
[ QUOTE ]
Kind sir, do not accuse me of slinging the barbs. I will apologize, and amend my original response with appropriate smileys if you mistook the tenor of the message, but sir it takes two to tango, and I am now out of this dance.
[/ QUOTE ]
You are correct in the fact that it does take two to tango indeed, but I don't believe I had your name on my dance card. However, I dare say it was a pleasure biting my thumb at you.
I am reminded of the wise words of a sage I know who uttered to me this, "You would be wise not to meddle in the affairs of dragons. For you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!"
All manner of chagrin and taunting aside thank you for the link and pointing me in the right direction. -
You see it as sparring where as I see it as asking questions and not agreeing with the reponses given. Just because I disagree with a response in no way means I am trying to fight about it. As for the official forums not being the place, I think you would be wise to track down all the other people on here that express a difference of opinion and label them the same way you have labled me.

So then by your argument, everyone should always get a pizza with everything, since to have anything less is not logical?
[/ QUOTE ]
No actually my arguement is why offer space for 6 slots, but then show more then six enhancements for the power? If someone wants to use less then 6 slots for the power that is their choice, however my point is why offer 7 enhancement types, but only 6 slots? Why not have 6 enhancements that will cover all 6 slots?
[ QUOTE ]
You are the one who brought up other games, I am simply stating that this is why the games are different. Perhaps you can complain to the makers of chess that you don't get to do double jumps.
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, how high school chess club of you.
[ QUOTE ]
Blanket statements are always wrong. Great use of circular logic as well, how can you create something because you like using it? You can't use it till you create it, so then you don't know you like it until you have created it. Now if you were trying to say some people would like to continue playing their favorite Heroes or Villains. Thats true some would, others would not. No one has ever said this game has great endgame at 50. Most arguments I have seen state the fact that why hurry to 50? As previously stated by another poster, this is the player questions section, If you would like to suggest a level cap raise, there is another forum for that, with numerous posts that you can "me too!" to your hearts content. Feel free to use them.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ah and now the great debator wishes to throw down the gauntlet of semantics. Heaven forfend that someone would have a character they created and were playing on another game outside of CoX that they would want to be able to play in the game. I had no idea the vast multitude of player minds were just blank slates with no idea what they want when it comes to creating their characters. What I tried to say is that some people would like to continue playing their favorite Heroes or Villains. As for no one saying this game has great endgame at 50, well perhaps that is an area the developers will consider working on, or maybe not, who knows.
[ QUOTE ]
You are limited to 12 per account per server, there are only 11, that means you can have what 132 per account? You are not limited to the number of accounts you can have. You want to complain that you want to play them all on the same server? That's your requirement, not the game's. You want to complain you can't afford multiple accounts or server transfers? I don't know, go to night school, get a better job. I don't have an answer for your financial problems.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well my forked tonque advisary you truly do have the arsenal of venom don't you? What a testament to you as a human being, bravo. As for having multiple accounts pretty much sounds like the answer for the time being. So, thanks for that answer, but there was no need to be a smart alek about it.
[ QUOTE ]
Babies are meant to be changed, rules, not so much.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmm...gonna disagree with the rules bit of that remark. If that were true the world would be different verses the way it was a century ago, but thanks for the snappy come back.
[ QUOTE ]
Then why did you ask? You bring up the same tired points that have been brought up before, even mentioning that they had. Not accepting of any one else's answers. Then you post a nice browbeating thread, and ask that no one browbeat you.
[/ QUOTE ]
If you thought this was a post with questions that brought up tired points then why did you choose to respond to it? You are entitled to your opinion and I to mine in which case we obviously disagree. As I said in the original message if my questions were posted to the wrong location to point me in the right direction. The point of asking the question is so the subject continues to be discussed. Otherwise how does change occur? You call what I have asked brow beating? I don't see the questions asked as brow beating at all. However, when you chose to respond as you did I only felt inclined to retort in likewise fashion. My point in saying what I said of not being surprised by the response is because of the response I got. There was no point in going into the repromand you threw up when all that should have been said is, "Sorry you asked this in the wrong place." At any rate, thank you for your passionate defense of the status quo. -
Well as I stated in my orignal post if I had posted my questions to the wrong forum that I would like to be pointed to the correct one. As you said this forum pertains to player questions, but apparently the player questions I asked don't belong here, so woops, I made a mistake.
As for what more I want from the players, nothing, I'm just adding my voice to the many other players who have asked the same questions I have. Again, my mistake for doing so in the wrong place apparently. -
Then if that is the case more enhancement slots should be given as a character is leveling up. It's not logical to give a listing of what enhancements work with which powers in which case power A can have up to 7 enhancements, but the game only gives you the maximum space for 6 slots per power etc.
As for your defensive attitude of the "rules" of other games verses CoX it's bull. Many of the players on the game that are 4 year vets that I know have shared similar opinions about this limitation and they too think it's a load of hooey. All players have a favorite character or characters they have created because they like the fact they can play those characters in the game. To be manipulated into creating other characters so they can see all the enhancements possible for a power for character A through a different toon is ludicrous. Otherwise, what is the point of trying to have a character get to level 50 in the first place if that character cannot be their most powerful? I would understand and agree with your statement if the character was only lvl 10, but that is not the case. Why make a character to play and enjoy playing only have them cut off. I did bust my butt to get to level 50, but I didn't say it wasn't worth it. I would love spending another 6 months continuing to enhance the powers of my lvl 50 toon because they kick butt. All players have a character that is a vet in their cast of toons that was their first creation. Why would anyone want to retire them?
Another line of crap is that additional character slots are not going to be added to a server for characters. Your arguement is that CoX wants us to use multiple characters to play the game and experience it, well then why limit the number of characters to 12?
It would appear that the only arguement here is the "if you don't like our rules then don't play" philosophy. Rules are meant to be changed and as for the limits placed on players in this manner if the game were free then yeah, I agree with the rules that you can only have so many enhancements slots per level and only so many characters on a server, but that is not the case.
However, I didn't expect an answer other then what I got on here, so I'm not surprised. It's just interesting that when someone asks questions they get responses like this. Kindly keep any brow beating to yourself. -
OK, here's my question, why dont' we get the rest of our enhancement slots for our characters once they reach lvl 50? I have space for most of my powers that I could put slots into, but I don't have any way of getting the slots for the powers. I think this is wrong, it took me 6 months to get my character to lvl 50 without power leveling and had to bust my butt to get here only to be limited.
What is the reason for capping our character lvl to 50 any way? I know there are other games that allow a character to go beyond that, so why does CoX not?
Another question I have is why can't we have more character slots on the server? If not for free than why can't we buy more character slots the way players can on Guild Wars?
As much as I love CoX these questions have been brought up by many people over and over again and I have not really seen any reply from the devs in regards to doing something about it. Unless I missed it in which case someone can point me in the right direction.
