Types of Respecifications
Though there are many ways of acquiring respecifications, the respecs themselves fall into only two types: earned and free. The type depends on the method used to achive it:
* Trial Respecs - earned, up to 3 possible
* Veteran Respecs - earned, up to 4 possible (at 45 months)
* Patron Respecs - earned, 1 possible (Villain only)
* Soldiers of Arachnos Respec - earned, 1 possible (Villain only)
* Purchased Respec - earned, theoretically unlimited
* Free Respec - free (A character can only have 1 at a time and they do not stack)
* Respec Recipes - free (These cannot be crafted if the character already has a free respec available)
A character can accumulate any number of earned respecs, but at most one free one. Any more gained while a character already has one are lost.
An earned respec is used by visiting a special contact.
* For heroes, this contact is Jack Wolfe, located in the Freedom Corps headquarters in Galaxy City.
* For villains: Arbiter Lupin, located next to Arbiter Frederick in the Nerva Archipelago; and Arbiter Sawyer, standing near the Pocket D entrance in Port Oakes.
A free respec is used by either visiting the above contacts, typing the /respec command on the chat command line at anytime or anywhere, though it is still subject to limitations

Since coming back to the game from 2x weekend, I have noticed some odd bugs/annoyances with my level 45 Ninja/Traps Mastermind Ninjas.
Minor annoyance:
I love....LOVE the fact that they zone with you now, but I hate the fact it plays what seems like the summoning and buffing animations of each pet all at the same time when you zone. I zone in about 10 seconds usually and wait another 5 seconds for the smoke to clear so I can see what I am facing.
Also summoning my FF generator sometimes plays the buffing animation along with the regular animation.
Bug:
On cargo ship maps. When I load from the deck of the ship to the interior, my pets dont follow immediately. after about 2 to 5 minutes they start showing at the door and can be selected but they wont attack or defend or move. If I wait another 3-5 minutes they will snap to life and be normal again.
I even dismissed and re-summoned them and it put one of them off the map somewhere. It let me teleport him to me but he was "brain dead" and when I tried to buff it said "target in air".
This also happened on that Outdoor Grandville map where you rescue the Spiderlings. All was well until I took the elevator to the top. All came through except the Oni and he never snapped out of it, I had to resummon him.
No problems so far with regular office map elevators.
Are these common issues? Or do my pets hate me? -
I posted after doing only the first mission in the arc. The rest of the missions did give credit for Rikti kills. It appears that only the Rikti in the first mission don't count because they are considered Lost...in really kick azzz Rikti Halloween costumes. :P

I have always used the stuck option and they fixed it quickly because it is an easy fix. They finally emailed me back and apologized for it taking so long.
I figured not having my base during most of the 2x weekend in which I was trying out the game again was equal to "stuck" for me.
According to the classifications in the emails that they send both problems are listed equally:
Product Level 1: City of Heroes
Product Level 2: Freedom
Category Level 1: Game Play
Category Level 2: General
Product Level 1: City of Heroes
Product Level 2: Guardian
Category Level 1: Game Play
Category Level 2: General
They just messed up or were swamped. I don't think they punished me for lying.
I did end up resubscribing though. -
I was having the same problem upgrading to a different version of an Nvidia driver. I have nearly identical computer as you (except 32 bit) and the exact same GFX card. I did everything correct over and over and couldn't get it to install correctly. I had never had problems before.
Anyway in my search for answers I found this:
http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archi...04/739820.aspx
It is an article about using SubInACL tool to fix registry permissions and it tells you step by step how to fix them all at once. Read the whole thing.
I followed the instructions and then tried to install new drivers and it worked like a charm.
Hope this helps you or maybe others. -
Thanks for the answer Roderick. It explains it on a technical level, but since Lost become...well no spoilers. Anyway I won't bug it. Minor issue anyway I will run to Creys Folly and "arrest" monkeys.

I was on Freedom and had the "base power not working" problem from being logged off for too many days. In the past they has it fixed from 30 min to 1 hour. It was finally fixed after 27 hours and me updating question.
When I first put in the petition, I decided to switch to Guardian to see if base had same problem there (it didn't). So I did a mission which was a kill all Nemisis in Office. It had a counter that showed 2 left after all were dead. I filed a petition and a GM showed up in 5 minutes and completed mission for me.
So 2 easy problems to fix on 2x weekend on 2 different servers filed within 10 minutes of each other. Both using Stuck option and "need GM" in title.
Freedom - 27.6 hours
Guardian - 5 minutes
Overall I have had excellent response from Support. But sometimes..... -
Rikti in Montague Castanella missions are not counting toward the "Get plasma cannon charger" Defeat 15 Rikti part of Aura mission. I checked known issues didn't see anything on this. Is this known, or do I need to bug it. Thanks for any input.
