    Grav/Energy

    My friend that got me into this game plays a Grav/Energy Dom and asked for my help in designing a high recharge (PermaDom) build for her. My mains are a MM and Brute, so I wasn't quite sure what was needed... but here's what I came up with... (Note: The actual enhancements were typically just picked from random within the set, just to get the bonuses atm)

    Any help is appreciated... I think this gets to PermaDom and PermaHasten...

  2. Got a quick question on the Aura enhancements (defense, resist, etc)... Does the pet that has the enhancement slotted have to be active?

    Example:
    If I put the Defense Aura in my Zombies, do I need Zombies alive for the aura to be active on the other pets?

    MM & healing

    I'd agree with /Dark or /PainDom. (Mainly because I haven't played or played with Thermal or FF)

    The main differences between the two are:

    Dark's heal requires an enemy target and a to-hit check. It's also an AE heal with a fairly small range, but, once you get used to it, it's very useful. (My /Dark is only 41 and almost has the 2,000,000 healing badge, from mostly solo play)

    Dark is more debuff-oriented, where Pain is more buff-oriented. Pain also has more heals available than Dark. Dark gets a pet at 38 that uses most of the /Dark powers, including the heal.

    I haven't played Pain beyond the low levels, so I can't really comment on how it is in the higher levels, but I've teamed with players that have it and it is very effective at keeping everyone healed.

    Thermal is a fairly new addition to MM's, but it looks to be a very solid one. It almost seems like a middle ground between Dark and Pain; not as many heals as Pain, but has both buffs and debuffs (though the debuffs come at the higher levels).

    Force Field is a different type of set in that it doesn't come with any heals, but it does come with a lot of defense buffs (not much in the offensive buff set). I've played FF up to the mid teens and it doesn't really seem to mature until you get Dispersion Bubble and get some slots into it, but after that it seems to become easymode

    So, to recap:

    /Dark: Minor healing with decent debuffing capabilities, pet that duplicates your powers
    /PainDom: Better healing with decent buffing capabilities (mostly offensive buffs), healing aura
    /Thermal: Middle healing with mixed buffing and debuffing (mostly defensive buffs)
    /FF: Purely defensive buffing, minor controlling abilities

    At least... that's how I see it

  5. I was reading through the Necro/ guides and one of them recommended putting Defense Debuff IO's in the Lich. Out of curiousity, I looked through the powers of the various pets, and I could not find a power on the Lich that gave a defense debuff... Am I missing something?

    I know Defense Debuff enhancements can go into the Lich, but I'm not sure what they're enhancing. The Grave Knights have powers with defense debuff effects, but I couldn't find one for the Lich...

    Claws is a great addition to brutes and I am thoroughly enjoying mine. I chose /inv and I am totally enjoying leveling her. Normally I can't stand playing toons at low lvls, but this is one toon that doesn't feel broken in the least at young lvls.
    Basically... it's fun for a bit to just plow through everything without having to worry about much unless I happen to come across a bunch of debuffs... but then it gets boring

    I'm not saying I don't like him, he's just almost too easy to play and he's only 26 so far. I'm kind of looking for something that will be more of a challenge to play, without just increasing the character's difficulty.

  8. So I've been playing my Claws/WP a bit and, while it's fun, it's kind of lost the "shine"

    I like the way Brutes play so I'm wanting to create another one... I've been looking at the Battle Axe primary, cause it looks fun

    What I'm wondering is what a good secondary would be for decently easy play from level 1 but still have some challenge to it (i.e. I might actually have to use inspirations )

    Additionally... In my playing around in Mids', I started to wonder which was more effective: Defense or Resistance?

    Claws/WP Info

    Created a Claws/WP Brute to play around with, and he's now 23 and it's gotten pretty fun. Can pretty much steamroll now that he has QR and RttC.

    What I'm wondering is... how should I slot my powers? Not just which IO's to use, but where I should put my extra slots. Even on my other characters, that's my hardest thing to decide one

  10. Just started playing a month or so ago and really loving the game, even though I thought it would be dumb

    I've got a 26 Necro/Dark MM and my friend that got me to try the game has a 22 Gravity/Energy Dominator...

    What I'm wanting to make is a class that I can solo to 20+ effectively, then duo with her Dom through the rest of the levels. The MM works very well with her, but I'm having a hard time not outleveling her even further (I have more playtime, and the MM is a very good solo class from what I've seen).

    I figure a Brute may be a good option to keep the critters off of her Dom while she nukes and whatnots, just not sure what would be good Primary/Secondaries for that. I originally tried an Electric/Energy Brute, but had issues with health after a few fights. I've recently (today) created a Claws/WP brute, but haven't had a chance to get a feel for how that may work out.

    Any suggestions are appreciated!
