Maybe im missing something super easy like most mobs do S/L damage. To me stacking S/L and ignoring everything else is like have 1 good player and 10 crappy ones on a football team. If my first sentence is correct then I suppose I have a lot of work to do.

Since this is a defensive question thread I would like to post my question here as well. Does anyone have a link to a detailed explanation about defense? My exact question is:
I have a DP/Elec/Elec Blaster. I have several IO set bonuses that give postional defense. AoE and Ranged in particular but my melee is slacking. So I was thinking about going cold for FA or Scorp for the shield. This will give me good S/L def. I cant use Mids because I have a mac so Im going to throw out some hypothetical numbers.
With FA or SS:
S/L = 30%
Melee = 10%
AoE = 31%
Ranged = 20%
Other Damage types = 5%
If I fight an enemy that does S/L melee damage is the mobs chance to hit based off my S/L or melee? Im assuming S/L because its higher...But now lets say that mob does AoE S/L damage is the mobs chance to hit based of my AoE because it higher? Im hoping yes.
I hope this makes sense and is easily answered. Thanks in advance -
Thanks a ton for the reply. I wish I could post a mids build but I have a Mac thats why I said I couldnt use Mids :/. I didnt realize that the different defenses (Type vs. Position) didnt stack. I will take that into account. I may have to rework everything I think I kind of jumped the gun on buying IO's...I was very excited as the game has done a 360 since I last played. All of my enhances are lvl 50 :/ Considering the IOs I already have should I skip FA/SS and try to work in positioal defense strictly from set bonuses? With the Thunderstrikes and a few others my ranged defense is pretty good (something like 20%). The way Im set up now I find myself being kind of durable but I really dont group often so I have little comparison. In the end though I really do like Blapping and have plenty of patience so I think reworking to cap L/S will be my choice. Is there a way to unequip IOs that are already slotted besides respecing and not reslotting them? Will the I19 respec allow me to not reslot ALL of my IOs so I can kind of work from the ground up? Or considering the ease of lvling should I just reroll?

Hi all,
I cant use mids so im playing around on the online planner but it doesnt post numbers. So I was wondering two things. Can some of you folks out there post a DP/Elec/Cold build for me? I will let you know what I would like to focus on. The other thing is can I understand the rule of 5 so lets say I have 6 full sets of Thunderstrike...only 5 of the count towards bonus, now lets say there is another IO set with the exact same bonuses as TS does the 5 limit only count for same IO's or does it apply to the same bonuses as well?
1) Group and solo friendly
2) Good defense, I like to use range attacks as I close in then Blap for the finish
3) I would like to keep SJ and SS for the double BoZ def and KB protection
4) Good single target (ATM im trying DP/Elec/Elec but w/o +def epic im hurting)
5) Viable for PvP and PvE
I have IO's already, full sets:
3 Thunderstrike (Pistol, DP, ES)
1 E. Adapter (Power Sink)
1 Makos Bite (Shocking Grasp)
1 Guasins (SP?) (Tactics)
1 of the other 6 IO to hit buff (BU)
2 Blessing of Z (SJ/SS)
5 or less but working on more:
Touch of Death X5 (Havoc Punch)
Lockdown X2 (SF)
Multistrike x5 (HoB)
I think thats about it. I hope Im on the right path. I do see some of my own correctable weaknesses but wanted input from other folks. Mace mastery is also an option but I really like snow storm and Im not overly opposed to frozen armor looks.
Oh also I run this build now w/o fitness just fine so an i19 build will be perfect.
Thanks
Another edit: I dont slot empty clips or PS I generally
Pistols-DP-Pistols-BU-ES-SG-HP
Thats my basic single target attack chain. -
The post was ment to be a little silly. Some of you people really need to unbuckle your belt a little and loosen up. My char is fairly well IO'ed and running +4 x8 takes me sooooo long its silly but I do like to get stuff done in between spawns while my t9 recharges....and more often than not I die several times and have to leave mish to buy inspirs but thats my thing, I dont know why. Thank you all for not putting some crazy math formuli (Oo is that a word?) as an answer. Probably just what Lothic said that I am not used to the games agro yet.

Argo in this game is the most random and silly thing I have ever seen. If im in a cave in Steel Canyon a boss in a factory in Skyway city gets agro'd. I find it aggravating because I solo a lot and to shoot a mob in a group of 3-4 (fully expecting the 3-4 to come) just to see two more groups of 3-4 come running in from 3/4 of the way across the room. Then, the same exact situation I am able to pick them off 1 by 1 with 0 agro from anyting else.
Whats the leash range on mobs? 8327589671866484578378617657974589473055 feet? I dont know because sometimes its also .2 inches. The latter of the 2 only seems to occur when kiting is necessary.
I played Warhammer for a long time and agro was manageable and the mobs leashes were not ridiculous. Is it supposed to be completely random here in hero land or does the kiddie game require intimate knowledge of finite math to figure out agro?....along with everything else.
Yes I am horrible at math so please dont reply with...well mobs have an occular pattern of .9019% in a perimeter of 4.52*1.1116 (-45.66 to the 9th) re-occuring. (I totally made some of that up). A simple yes its random or no its not and it requires enough math to make an alien who built a spaceship with a coat hanger, 2 pieces of tape and a tube sock head explode.
Did it ever occur to anyone that AoE in this game is ABSURDLY powerful? +4 x8 = run in, AoE, repeat 50 times. Does it get any better or more challenging?
Ok enough questions for now. KK bye -
Thx for the input guys. Gonna stick with the Corr. I suspected as much that a DP/Rad Corr would turn out to be better solo and grouped than a DP/Nrg Blaster. The Debuffs are pretty handy, quick question though. Will EF's -Res stacked with PS's -Res be enough -Res to make doing lethal damage end game acceptable?

Hello all,
I wanted some opinions on my 2 toons. I really have very limited play time and would like to take one to 50 and concentrate on getting it IO's.
This is not a Corr vs. Blaster in general question but an endgame DP/Rad Corr vs. DP/Nrg Blaster question. I do play solo but prefer groups. I HATE healing and only use mine as an oh crap button. I like both alot for different reasons. I see massive potential in the Corr as better end game grouper for the debuffs but as of right now the Corrs DPS seem very bleh compared to the Blasters. (Corr = 24 Blaster = 25). But I also see alot of potential in the Blaster as massive single target DPS with /Nrg. I really just want general input and opinions about DP/Rad Corrs and DP/Nrg Blasters with a focus on end game grouping. Thanks in advance.
