Hey guys! I started my account and have been reading guides and builds ect...

I have it narrowed down now between MA/Will "Love the options to hit with a fist now instead of kick ect!!" and Elec/Shield.


I have some questions that I can't find the answers to.


Does Shield really add THAT much to scrapper damage? If it does does it trade off with defence? Are they much less tough?

Does AOE matter much? I know its better to have aoe attacks than not have them "IF the single target damage is the same" but im not sure if that is the case.


Of those two power sets what one do you guys think a noob with no extra Influence should pick?.

Thanks for the information guys..If I go redside i will pick another At. Stalkers do sound neat but seem a little more advanced. That along with the less team friendly means i will save the stalker for a alt.

Bah I just read the stalker guides and read over and over...."Stalkers don't team well" Either those guides are way out of date and things have changed or I guess I will look elsewhere. Seems counter productive to create a character in a mmo that doesnt team well.

I'm trying to figure out what my toon is going to be"scrapper if Blueside but not sure about red side" and Scrapper and Brute seem pretty strait forward. I looked through the guides and did some searching but can't sem to find what a Stalker really is.


They attack from stealth for major damage I know. Other than that I think they get scrapper type powers.


Where is stalker in the damage range? Seems like they should be ahead of scrappers and brutes due to the nature of the stalkers attacks ect.. But I have not read that anywhere.


Are they just scrappers with stealth? Do you stealth in groups? that seems a little bothersome with the rush rush rush types i used to play with a long time ago.

Looking through the guides it seems most are out of date. I would think that most fo the information would still be good though as I am looking for general information and not getting to far into it.

Thanks for the replys! Im not sure at this point but it seems to be between Kat/Will, Elec/Elec"though i cant find a guide for that one" and MA/Will.

I don't know why but Elec/elec keeps coming back on my list even though the only thing I know about it is that its weak verse single targets compaired to others. maybe its the old spiderman cartoons i watched as a kid that had that Electro villian that seems so cool.

I would just make all three and let them battle it out leveling to 10 or 20 to see who got to become the new hero but im not real good at sticking with one toon normally and dont want to start the endless line of alt toons marching across my log in screen.

I meant to type that MA/Willpower looked cool to but that I had read that MA was a weak/bad powerset due to little aoe attacks.

HI! I played City of Heroes at release and now and then since. Never more than a few days at a time though. It was always my patchday MMO"I would only play it on the patch day of another game".

Now playing that much has been gone for a few years. I have a 35th tank,blaster and scrapper and a few others.


I tell you all this just so you will know I have VERY basic playing knowledge only but at least some idea how to play.

Im looking to start over and fresh as COH is now the only MMO I will be playing at least for a year or two.

I need a scrapper powerset that is friendly to Noobs with No Influence both in leveling and at max. I would hope that that powerset would handle end game content well "but realize that this prob means not the best as I don't have the Influence.

Just looking at the powersets Elec/Elec seems fun but really I have no idea how it handles ect..


I want to make one toon and not play another till that one toon reaches 50 so I thought id come ask what you guys thought.

Oh! also I planned on starting on Freedom server for the most people"or at least one of the most" is that right?
