After finaly getting my mind/psi to 50 I was casting around for another Dom build with a different flavor, and stumbled upon fire/thorn.
I've played it now into the mid teens, and have to say, it's unbelievably fun ; plays like a spines scrapper with controls.
I was surprised to find no mention of anything about Fire/thorn, or /thorn for that matter in the forums here, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with these they would care to share.

I've tried the suggestions in this thread, and restarted in safe mode . That usualy allows me to log in, and close my contact widow.
The bug also commonly occurs while talking to contacts, and on the rare occasion that a mission clickie brings up a dialog window.
I've a N'vidia 6150 so the problem isn't restricted to ATI, and am running with every possible graphic setting turned off, or at minimum.
This is well below the settings I used successfully with this computer when my account was last active.
As I can restart the computer, and/or play other toons, without affecting the frozen toon, I think there is some server side component to this problem.

Hello, I've been gone a while ; over 1100 days according to my main. Boy, I hope she's parked at a day job.
Since it's been so long I decided to start fresh toon . I rolled a Mind/Psy Dom, and honestly I don't remember having this much fun with any build before. She's in her mid twenties now....you know that age, when you start to wonder if you should respec, did you pick the right powers, and why the heck did you waste three slots in manuevers !
I've been mining the Forums for some time, and it's left me with some questions. It seems some things are so accepted, that while they are constantly discussed, they are never explained.
Firstly Perma-Dom. this must surely be a good thing, but how does one get it? Is it only a late game goal? Can one work towards it, or will pursuing it be painful at earlier levels, and perhaps it'd be better to respec into. I had undestood that Dom was built by attacking ( making Psi dart not totally suck ) , but that doesn't seem so from the posts I've read.
Secondly, ought I have taken Telekinesis ( I had wanted to try it, but it seemed situational, and now that I'm considering a respec, I'de hate to try it, and then want to respec again).
Thirdly Is my understanding that the Alpha Slot is something you get at lvl 50 correct?
And finaly, why are cats drawn to the autorun key while you're away making coffee? (Edit: maybe that's a whole different thread there.)

I'm a returning player. My laptop burned up, so i dug out my old computer, and on booting up noticed the CoH shortcut. After Updating windows, and my graphics driver, I downloaded the updates, verified image to be sure, and registered my old account.
My problem has been that talking to contacts, or opening my contact window intermittently freezes the game. It seems rather streaky, sometimes I can do most of an arc without problems. Sometimes I'll freeze every time i speak to a contact for several missions in a row.
Till now relogging has freed up the game, but this evening the game froze when i opened the contact window, and when I relog it starts frozen.
Has anyone else experienced this behavior, or can suggest a solution.
