Agreed me and a freind easily duoed hollows at level5 and 6.
I was a level 5 ice/electric blaster and she was level 6 fire/rad controller man it was easy to easy in fact. And this is without the update coming from the test server changes to outcast and trolls. All we did was take on even and plus one mobs and we left hollows pretty quickly because it was too packed they have twice the amount of people there then perez. -

Kazarak,
You put that boredom on yourself. You want excitement, take yellows. You want missions full of enemies, take on a partner just for bumping the difficulty.
[/ QUOTE ]
That shouldn't be the way, I have to sit there and bother someone with there gaming to team up everytime I finish a mission just so I can bump my difficulty up. Thats like me telling you if the mission is to hard you should outlevel your contact and then go back to it or fight blues. Neither of those choices are fair to either player. But when the slider comes we can at least make a choice of what we want. -

Low level fire fire tanker sucks its not really great till they reach 18. Oh yeah just wanted to say my fire tanker is energy secondary and its not uber as its cracked up to be play one you will see its flaws. A dependency in a powerpool already might aswell say it, gimps it. -

Which is fine when you're below level 10. Over that, it becomes a problem.
You know, your argument goes both ways. If people want to do their missions (like I do), they should not be forced to out-level them to make them doable.
[/ QUOTE ]
It works at all levels pretty much. The lazy players should be forced to out-level their missions so they can have them easy. That way the people that want a challenge (until the difficulty sliders are coded) can have fun as well doing their missions.
*sighs* Lazy whiners are going to ruin this game as surely as they ruined every other game out there.
[/ QUOTE ]
Agreed with the end of mission xp and the yellow mobs and red leuts I havent outleveled a mission yet. My fire tank took on two red bosses, a freakshow tank and a warrior slasher elite man it was the toughest fight I ever been on and I had only one respite and all of my powers do not have a single so burn was worthless, then provoke had a hard time hitting so they kept running out. Gotta love energy melle . I love these type of challenges gonna miss them when they fix mission I hope states hurry and get the slider. -
All I am trying to say is be pateint the outcast are getting dumbed down I tested it.
If there anything else you want me to test tell me I be most happy to. Maybe you want me to test the bricks stunning amount? -
Doubled the Duration of Discipline, Strength of Will and Iron Will Inspirations. This will help also with the stunning holding immobolizing sleeping
-
There are changes to the outcast coming, when you reach higher level the mobs get extremely more difficult, Tsoo sorcs are crap to storm shaman. Family leuts and boss like to disorient with there punches the minions stuns have been decreased all the way to one percent chance of stunning. Tsoo gets even more tougher with the inkmen and the various bosses. Devouring earth, Rikti, Malta, carnival etc are difficult. You might as well hang up now if you think its going to get better when you reach higher level. But the outcast bosses and leuts have been toned down in training room it will get better for you.
-
Just wanna say lol they are getting dumbed down so no worries, shame but ohwell. I just dont see how they are overpowered at your level really. The Tsoo are more tougher then them at this point. But again they are getting dumbed down so no worries.
-
I say if you nerf aoe's increase our hp and single target damage.
-
LOL gotta love ignore not directed to you miss A I just did it on this annoying poster who doesnt know how to read and comprehend a post that backs his own arguements. Simpleton.

I get what your saying aura but alot of different people play this game. When you play your typical mmporg people know what they gonna get. Alot of content, tough missions, the need of grouping which is basically what some casual players call forced grouping. COH caters to all types which why makes it so special.
There are 8,9,10 year olds that play this game, there are peopel who love this game but hardly have time to play it, people who hates challenges, and power gamer like myself. When you cater to so many, some parts of the game gets dumbed down like the difficulty. Hopefully mission difficulty slider helps cater this problem I am having a blast playing all my alts with all those yellow mobs and red boses running around. And I hope Cryptic keeps this in mind. -

Ok came back from test on outcast and troll changes.
For the trolls changes it was really hard to see which was what.
Trolls power really didnt change much it seems. The minions will still hit you with there melee superstrenght attacks.
Ogres still did the stone skin stone melee stone mallet powers and Tremors.
Caliban same also temp inv, they did foot stomp, the super strenght attacks, the live version did handclap I noticed but test version didnt.
One of the powers I cant recall which boss did some stone spear move basically fault.
Well the changes to the trolls werent really anything big, I actually didnt think they needed it.
The outcast changes were pretty descent really they are still gonna be tough and they differentiate from hellions and skulls big time.
Outcast torch just cast flares didnt do anything else.
Outcast chargers did charged bolts and charged brawl.
Outcast sluggers did stone fist and thats it they didnt do stone skin.
Shockers dont use O2 boost they were like before, charged brawl and Lightning bolt.
Lead Scorcher dont use blazing aura, Flash fire, or ring of fire.
I tested them quit a bit to make sure they didnt use ring of fire and flashfire. They use fireshield, fireblast and fireball.
And I read there description they are made to cast fire imps yes they still do cast fire imps .
Lead Shocker They got rid of Tornado its been replaced with lightning field. They use charged brawl, lightning bolts, and Havoc punch not sure never used electricty manipulation could of been thunderstrike. It looks exactly like bone crusher. Oh yeah no thunder storm either.
Well this change seems great to me for those newbie players, and the outcast should still be challenging for us vets
With the +1 changes coming hopefully this arguement can go away. I just gotta wait for difficulty sliders to be implemented when my missions go back to being boring again
Thx for the fix devs and listening to the crowd even though I dont want the missions to be easy again I can wait. -
Cool nm they do apper in Hollows gonna see if I could find some
-
Hey statesman may I suggest maybe some of those new mobs those cool volcano looking villans appear in Hollows in the proper place of course if they do appear there NM I havent seen one yet just a suggestion . One thing about perez is the variety of villans. You got hellions, skulls, vahlz, Hydra, CLocks, and Lost. -
Thx for the reply I am checking out test server to check on outcast and troll changes will post. Dont forget Lost spawn in KR and Skyway to and they appear in perez

If outcast start shooting useless machine guns instead of thier elemental powers that is gonna suck. Just gonna be the same old useless mobs they were before just in a different zone. Coh needs to make a good first impression for new players right. Repetitiveness wont help, I say to please everyone dumb down the outcast but make them more unique. Not idiots that shoot machine guns that just debuffs defense. They need to be a step up from hellions and skulls not the same. Right now I rather fight a lead scorcher then a bone daddy anyday. Those that seem right to you.

To this I say, if UFOs abducted Statesman and turned him into their pawn, then forced him to replace enemies in the game with Teletubbies it will definatly suck.
What's the point of useless speculation? He didn't say the powers were being replaced with guns. He simply used guns as a comparison. He said they were being tunned down and some removed. We don't know yet which powers are being removed. It could be a bad guy has Flares, and Fire Bolt and Flares is being removed. It could be they have unseen powers such as Stamina and they are being removed.
Lets not start proactively complaining about something that might not even come true. Hold fire until you can see the target you're shooting at...

"this challenge is not hard enough, make it harder" is not whining . . . it is the anithesis of whining.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well, this is a game where you're telling several people that their fun really is less important than your fun. It's not the Shao Lin Temple, nor is it Navy Seal training.
I agree with Kazarek, though. There's definitely a lot of whining to keep the game hard. I'm not sure how anyone could call what most of the complaints have been anything else.
Also, there's been mockery, derision, and condescension from those who want the game to remain harder, with comments about how people need to learn to play the game properly, and how they should go team with a controller, and other pointless replies. And, honestly, you've participated ("amused by shiny objects crowd" comes to mind) in all of it - and I'm somewhat sympathetic to what you're looking for, I just think you're looking for it in the wrong part of the game.
Fundamentally, when I'm playing low level characters, I want to get them to Talos/IP. The current setup puts obstacles in that path. I want the game once I get to Talos/IP to be more challenging. I don't want the part of the game that I've played through at least a dozen times to be hard enough that it takes me that much longer to get through it. I also don't like the idea of new players going into door missions at second level and getting pounded by two patrols of two yellow minions and an orange lt. each because they don't yet know their character or the game well enough to handle that fight...especially if playing a controller, blaster, or defender.

Just wanted to say there are way more whining to make the game easier. I dont want to see the outcast and hollows become another repetitive perez park.

Keep in mind, we have no idea what he means here. They might have Stamina, or some other unseen power. They might have Flares and Fire bolt and they're losing the flares. Lets wait and see.

why not keep the powers but tone them down... or better yet... actually have them run out of endurance like we do. it's frustrating to not be able to do anything because we are constantly stunned or held.

They are tunning them down. Let me emphasize for those who haven't read, or haven't interepeted his post: He did not say they were REPLACING the powers with guns. He said they were "Tuning them down".
Here is his post verbatim:

We'll also be tuning down Trolls and Outcasts even more - to make them like Skulls and Hellions (fewer powers, etc.).

What in the hell more of the same mobs with stupid machine guns and bats. Flares and Iceblast choice of powers you choose when you create characters. Bah really bad decision while your at it get rid of Tsoo sorcs hurricane and there healing ability. Why not just give abberants guns to and give up there hold powers. Why give in, the new outcast and trolls after patch were perfect. Sigh the direction this game is going, the only problem was the +1 missios spawn why mess with the outcast powers.
[/ QUOTE ]
The reasons why make sense to me, not only for reasons I've already mentioned above but also...These levels represent a players first impression of the game. Players are more likely to quit when something is too hard than when something is too easy. Not saying I do, or you do, just most people do.
If any upping of difficulty is called for it should begin at 14 (when you get your travel power), grow gradually and peak in the 20s or 30s then stay at that level.
[/ QUOTE ]
I understand what your saying but why make different mobs if they all going to do the same thing. When I first played my first impression when I first met with the outcast was they are nothing more the hellions same skin same powers. I really thought the outcast and trolls were more of an elite group but they are not just powered up hellions and trolls. The Tsoo's where my first elite group I got to meet which was when I reached 14. I understand about not making the game so hard low levels but why make different enemies when they do the sme thing. HE said they are going to be more like hellions and skulls that was really dissappointing. Same mobs new area but same mobs no variety cant denie that hurts gameplay a little. Oh well back to the same repetitive stuff. -

After leave 30, +1 should be the minimum mob you get in a mission (including bosses). There should also be a healthy amount of +2s as well.
[/ QUOTE ]
God no! Some AT/builds never get the uber ability of the elite builds even at high lvl.
My energy / energy blaster cannot kill higher con mobs at lvl 45 that I could at lvl 20!
Why?
Because my relative hits compared to the mobs has dropped to a fraction of what it used to be and energy/energy never get any ranged status effects or debuff powers to take the edge of enemies. But mobs get more and more exotic powers to make my life difficult.
I really fear the difficulty increase comming since the difficulty right now makes it really tough to play an energy / energy blaster at high lvl.
[/ QUOTE ]
I am an Energy/Energy blaster, and at lvl 45 I easily able to dispatch lvl 48s... and now that I'm lvl 48, I'm killing 51s and 52s with ease in missions...
Sorry that you just dont understand how to play a blaster. Like i said in another post, there are controllers and defenders who have a good time playing it safe with pets. Or even a tank who will never get hit. You should try that, because you are failing as a blaster if you cant kill anything higher lvl than you.
(This is my morning of trolling, because there seems to be a whole lot of whines and [censored] about things that are actually good for the game. God forbid, you actually have to sit and heal a second in a mission before you go on.)
Oh and if you think soloing a red boss at 14 is hard, try soloing a Wisp Overlord surrounded by Overseers... you have no idea what difficulty is. But you know what, beating them was very gratifying because I lived up to and beat the challenge. A concept that many of you seem to be unable to grasp.

Agreed.
