  1. Well, I just tried to boot it in safe mode (thanks I didn't know that is how you choose safe mode now) and same result. Before I tired safe mode I loaded the game normally and it got further today then the past few days. It loaded the game right to the point where the long in screen pops up and locked up my computer (I was able to hit my reset button and reboot). Then I tried to boot the game in safe mode and it hung in the same place, just before the log in menu (where you enter your screen name and pass) but this time, both of my monitors went black and went into standby mode and I had to hold down the power button to get it to reset.

I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the NCsoft launcher and my Graphics card. Is there a way to bypass the whole NCsoft launcher?
  2. I HATE NEW PATCHES! -tears- I had the same issue when we switched over from the CoH launcher to the NCsoft launcher where right after I ran the NCsoft launcher and it would launch CoH it would cause my computer to just hang. Sometimes it would just show a black screen and lock up or it would just turn both my screens black (I run dual screens) and even hitting my reset button wouldn't work. I'd have to hold down my power switch to get my computer to reboot. I ended up turning off my account for a few months because tech help didn't even work.

When CoH freedom started, about a month afterwards I tried again, and it started working again. So I started up my VIP (I've been on CoH since I3) and have been thrilled since. Yesterday when I had to do the most recent update, I can no longer get even the game to begin to load. Yes I have an older computer, but it has worked fine. Can't really afford a new PC, and I think it's CoH and an issue with my older ATI Graphic Card.

  3. Wow, no one? I could REALLY use someone's insight on this.

    Updating on what I've done:
    - Uninstalled, then reinstalled a fresh copy of COH using the NCsoft updater. Let me in 3 times, but always crashed as I zoned then would no longer let me pass the log in loading screen
    - reinstalled graphic drivers again, Just to make sure, no change
-Ran 3dmark06 to see if it's my graphic card just pooping out, ran 3Dmark06 just fine not a single crash.

So I'm thinking it's something dealing with COH only. This morning it ran wonderfully after running 3Dmark06, I was able to zone, I was able to fight, no issues. Tonight I opened COH and it crashed. When it crashes and reboots, it never reboots fully. I just get a black screen and have to use my reset button.

    Any ideas at all, anyone?
  4. Hi Guys and Gals,
It all started Thursday, prior to this, COH worked perfectly. On Thursday night, I was able to log in, make it to the character screen, but it just wouldn't load into the zone. On Friday I started having issues getting pass the first loading screen, after you acknowledged the TOS before you even make it to the game to enter you username/pass. It would make it to to part where your toolbar the the bottom of the screen would go away, and you'd hear the opening song to COH, then it would just start looping the sound and either I would have to reboot it manually or it would reboot itself. It's not happening every time, but about 90%. Maybe one out of 4 times I'll be able to fully log in.

Last night after I logged in for a bit, it crashed and that was the end of it. I updated my graphic drivers and was able to log back in no trouble. Now today I can't get past the loading screen again.

I've done a restore point back a week, to see if that was the trouble. The first time I loaded COH after the restore point it worked then stopped working the next time I loaded it up. When I updated the drivers to my graphic card, it worked the next time I booted up COH, but the second time, it doesn't work again. It doesn't matter if it's a fresh boot up, or if my computers been on forever, If a program is running in the background or not. There's no rhyme or reason for it. There's no constant variable for me to figure it out. It just doesn't want to load.

I'm having no other issues with anything else on my computer so far. Any ideas as to what it could be? I'm lost as to what it could be.
