So the early adopters have to pay more to get everything the later adopters got?
-
I bought the Going Rogue when it was first available but the alpha/omega costume pieces are still locked. (I don't edit my costumes much so I didn't notice it until recently.) I have the Praetorian Police and Clockwork pieces which were also part of the set so I know it was registered, so why not these?
-
Sorry if this question has been asked before. When I go to the tailor to edit my costume, some parts of it are already modified. I didn't make any changes yet just by opening the costume editor there are several charges made to the different body sections. Why is this happening and how do I stop it? Is there a way to get a list of what the options of a costume are called before editing? That way I know what they are so I can restore an altered costume.
Thanks in advance. -
Quote:Heh, sounds like the old way to move stuff between characters. If your computer can handle running two instances of the game at a time, then you can get a free account and then spend at least $5 on that account to get the account to Reward Tier 2, when allows toons on that account to join SGs and to invite others to SGs.
Then log on with a member of your SG on your main account and log on a toon with the new account. It's a little easier if the two toons are in the same area.
With your main, click on the premium toon and Invite to SG.
Alt-tab over to the premium toon and accept the invite.
Then Quit to Character Select on your main account and log on with any alt that needs to get into your SG. Have the premium toon invite them.
It's actually easier than it seems here Just a little convoluted to explain.
Note: this won't work on Exalted, unless your second account is a paying VIP account, since only VIP's are allowed on the "U! No allw here!" server.
If you're on Exalted or if your computer can't run multiple CoH instances or if you don't want to spend $5 to raise the premium account to Tier 2, then go with AdAstra. I can vouch for her since she has helped me get plenty of alts into my solo SG. -
On the heels of that question, how do I get my alts as part of my solo SG? Do I have to invite someone else and have them invite the alt or is there another way?

I'm an experienced player looking for a more active and more mature group. By mature I mean acting like responsible adults and respecting the time of your teammates. In other words a group that understands "Sorry I was late." is a nice thing to say if you keep someone waiting. I play several times a week. I solo but I'm also willing to help out if asked. I don't farm or PL and I don't want to be part of a group that does. (Reaching 50+1 is a journey to enjoy, not a race to see who gets there first.) I'm also more than willing to run in SG mode and have been the top Prestige earner in my current groups.
Could any group interested in adding a new loyal member respond here or in-board private message. I have an itchy ignore button and may put you on the list by accident. -
Quote:Thank you. I've had several characters with weapons and I don't think it's as bad as you say mostly because there are times when even with drawn weapons there's a delay between when I push the button and when the weapon fires. I haven't noticed the faster activation time. But speaking of delay, what about the Interrupt Time enhancements I've seen. What are they good for? Do they make the activation time faster? If so is it worth the fraction of a second it would save?Any power that uses a weapon animation has faster activation if the weapon is already out - if the weapon isn't out you have to 'draw' it, adding to the activation time. Since wide area web grenade fires from the soldier's gun, you will have to draw the gun to use it.
I did a respec the other night based on the advice given and it's working pretty well. I don't have as many slots in my attack powers (focused on defense first) but that will change as I get more slots. I have noticed that I get into melee often because the targets run up to me and because of the animation time I can't get further away. I'll have to work on that. But I've already raised the diff level to base and with another level or 2 could see pushing it up to +1.
Thanks for all the help! -
Quote:You'll have to forgive me. I've been playing CoX since the first weekend it was open. But I never really analyzed my characters. If I could get through the missions, I was happy. This is the first time I had real problems with a character underperforming (well second, the first is my healer but healers aren't meant to solo) and my first epic archtype. So I'm not familiar with the terms redraw or "mag 4". What do they mean? The problem with Web Grenade is redraw. It's probably best to wait till 41 and pick up a patron immobilize. I'm partial to School of Sharks, which can then be followed with Venom Grenade, Arctic Breath and then Bile Spray and Suppression for massive AOE carnage.
Unless you have a spammable single target immobilize, it'll be next to impossible to immobilize EBs, which is why Hover if your friend . Bosses usually just need a mag 4 immobilize, so u can pick up Web Grenade and a Patron Immobilize if u wanna immobilize bosses; just gonna have to suck up the redraw pain.
As for the patron pools, I haven't thought about those yet. My first villain (a MM) took the electric pool for the defensive power. My brute took the shark pool since she's a dragoness and I liked having more breath weapons. This is my third and I'd like to try something new. Maybe boost my melee with Mace or try the psychic pool for kicks. -
I appreciate all the suggestions. What about Web Grenade? Second best way to keep a target from getting into melee range is to keep them from moving (best way is to stay out of reach). And with Web Grenade your teammates are safe from melee too. Only problem would be with trying to web-up bosses and EBs. How do you do that?
-
Thanks, but I have some questions.
First what's so good about TT:Maneuvers when you solo? I can understand wanting a group power for those times I do team up with my friends, but is it so great when you solo?
Second, why hover? It's too slow and I like to charge through the door mission and defeat only the targets I have to defeat. -
I've been having problems soloing with my Crab Spider lately. Since I want to get through all the story arcs I had to crank the difficulty level to -1 (less XP means the longer I can put off turning off earning XP to get everything done). But there have been some missions I couldn't do even then, usually against EBs. Now this concerns me a bit because my brute never had to lower the diff settings and my MM (my first villain too) actually raised the settings and took out 2 EBs at once.
I'd like to be able to solo again with my crab. I prefer ranged attacks but know that things often devolve into melee. I like the suppression power so even if it doesn't quite fit in, I plan on keeping it. Also even though I'm down as level 30, I'm actually 32 I just haven't trained. I'd like to have a better build in mind first. And, oh yes, I know I haven't maxed out all the slots. I plan to once I have a better idea of what I need.
I already plan on switching Frenzy with Serum for the HP boost and Slice with Armlash because I think the animation is better. (But if these are bad ideas, I'm flexible.)
(I'm also bad at Mids, so pay no attention to the order of the powers or slots.)
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I thought about it and the H version of a MM would be called "Squad Leader". Their primary power sets would be members of an existing H group like:
PPD Robots
Longbow personnel
Wyvern
Midnighters
Villain MMs could expand into
Aranchos personnel
Aranchos spider robots
Croatoa creatures -
For my own thoughts I would like to see:
1) A way to trade between your different characters on the same side on the same server. This can already be done with a third person, but sometimes a teammate isn't around when you need them.
2) Do something with Boomtown. The zone has been pretty much the same since the start. There's a V mission where you sabotage some construction equipment, but you'd think there would be some progress after all this time. I'd like to see it reduced in size, clearing some of the larger ruined buildings, and/or seeing new construction near the "safe" zone like what happened to Faultline.
3) A heroic version of Masterminds. Robots can port over, maybe mercenaries, while still keeping the heroic ideal. To that you can add Sidekicks like how Batman has Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, Huntress, etc.
4) Buses. They work like the zone elevators except they take you to distant areas in the zone (useful in places like IP).
5) The ability to craft yellow, orange, and purple recipes from salvage and non-basic recipes.
6) Mini co-op zones based different time periods; Victorian era England (for tech and science drops), medieval China (featuring the Tsoo), roaring 20s Chicago (featuring the Family) with new developments in the Mender's organization. Or maybe not a co-op zone but a "split level" like how there's two versions Oroborus, one for H and one for V and you can't see the other side. Each mini-zone would be about half the size of Cirmoria and have a contact, a store, hospital, and a short TF that all link together revealing a story of the Midnighters vs Menders.
7) A WW or Black Market outlet in your base. -
I say bump up the damage and bump down the recharge and activation time of Hurl so we can complete with blasters. See how much THEY like feeling useless.
The idea of turning KB/KD off and on is great so no one feels like their enhancements are wasted or they spent too long developing the "wrong" tactics.
Handclap does KD only, disorientation was so bad they fell over.
