Thanks IB! The Titan forums make sense. I hope that what people are saving what they are posting here and on FB for reposting elsewhere. Because I even enjoy reading those, too.
-
My apologies if this has been addressed. I only learned today that as a Premium player (who like so many, was planning to resub soon, but lost that option) that I can post here, and I don't know if this has been addressed elsewhere.
At some point, this website, like the game, will be history. (Barring a last-minute reprieve.) The corporate overlords will no longer want to support it. Likewise for the City of Heroes Facebook page, I presume.
I realized this as I was reading so many eloquent testimonials (here and on FB) about what the game has meant to people. And then I realized that even these testimonials will disappear.
So ... Where will people be posting/discussing their memories, questions, anything, after this? I know there won't be a game to support, but I suspect people will still want the conversation and chance to remember.
Any thoughts? -

A) revamped old school/spandex tights similar to the ones we already have (adding a few details like seams but still mostly plain)
Are you talking about replacing or supplementing? (I hope the latter.) Seams or something simple details would be nice to break up the visual monotony.
B) loose-fitting tights with folds (like you'd see in Golden/Silver Age comics)
I would really like this. I try to have Golden Age and/or Silver Age costume variants for many of my toons.
C) modern super-hero tights (w/ ribbing, surface texture(s), subdivided surfaces) a la Ultimates 1 or Marvel movies.
I would not be opposed to these, but not as an alternative to A or B.
Finally, to affirm and add on to what others have said:
- masks with white (non-glowing) eyes
- domino masks (pointed/diamonds) that have texture and aren't just painted.
- for female toons: white "tops with skin" that is actually white, and not flesh-colored.
- for male toons: A few more tops with skins options would be appreciated. Right now it's only Tanker and Tank Top; otherwise I have to do a pattern on bare skin, which really just looks like spray paint. -
After some back and forth with Support, it's been fixed. I was able to modify my original Widow costume, and then costumes 3-4 (purchased slots, not earned); I was not able to modify costume slot 2 (the 10th level Arachnos slot) and 5-7 (purchased).
Yes, I'm a costume *****.
I also noticed that if I saved a costume and then tried to reload it, I was getting a Weapon error.
Anyway ... Support had to blank out slots 2, 5, 6, and 7, and I was able to start from scratch. However, with each costume, I still had to manually "select" Widow claws -- even though I had no other option and could not change them -- or the error would continue. But it's working now.
So if you find something similar happening, first thing to do is check the weapons. -
This may be related to the "Free Sex [change] bug" reported elsewhere, but what is happening is also somewhat distinct. Neither sex nor gender are issues however.
I have an Arachnos Widow whose level 10 slot is uneditable past its first change. I created a non-VEAT costume and the change was fine ... but any subsequent changes fail. The costume creator takes my INF, but the change is not implemented. Thankfully, if I log out/back in, the INF is returned, but the 2nd slot is simply unalterable.
I have access to two additional costumes (with the costume slots purchased from the store), and I have had no problem modifying those.
I know that the 6th widow costume (pre-i21) is supposed to be uneditable, but I have not read anything about the 2nd one being such.
EDIT: Just adding that the Widow is male, so I have not had an opportunity to notice any transgender costume issues that other people are reporting with female characters. -
Thank you both for the very detailed answer and the summary which helps me understand it. This should help guide my decision making.

Quote:Thank you for the info. That forces me to consider the 27 inch (which I was already considering anyway). If that's the starting point, however, I'm curious -- does that mean it's such a bare minimum that it is playable but not necessarily enjoyable?it won't.
The ultra mode starting point is RadeonHD 4850 / Geforce 9800 GTX.
And yes. That also applies to Apple / Linux running under Cider / Cedega.
Please pardon the noobishness of my questions. -
Hello all!
I'm thinking of jumping over to Mac for CoX. I do everything else on the Mac anyway so it wouldn't be a drastic life change but I need to make the right technological purchase.
Do you have any idea how well CoX will perform in Ultra Mode on the 21.5 inch iMac using the ATI Radeon HD 4670 graphics processor with 256MB of GDDR3 memory? I've seen good reports about the 27 inch with that processor but not anything about ultra mode.
So any experience or advice with the 21 inch iMac and/or the 4670 with Ultra Mode would be appreciated -
I haven't had the chance to offer feedback, but ...thank you very much for your excellent work on Alchemedic, Alkahest, Lady Columbia, Ramage, and Dolly Lama! I was really excited to see what you've done with them

Has anyone mentioned the probably irrelevent observation that the president looks an awful lot like Stan Lee? :-D
