Quote:This is the problem 100 times over. Understanding the Paragon Rewards program is vital for a satisfying return, and the information just isn't there. This page (http://na.cityofheroes.com/en/commun...ds_details.php) exists, but it's both buried and insufficient. You have to go external (http://paragonwiki.com/wiki/Paragon_Rewards) for the info.This.
I assume NCSoft wants ppl to return. The number of posts similar to the OP's seems to indicate that something needs to be done to welcome them back better. This may be as simple as some sort of way to notify them explicitly and helpfully about the vet/reward tokens to unlock features. But something to avoid a "wha? huh? that sucks! *walks away*" reaction that appears to be quite possible, and is not really the fault of the player.
It's not free to play for returners expecting what they had. It's $2 per month, which still looks like a pretty good deal when coming from $15. However, they also get hit with the upfront cost of unlocks. All six archetypes will cost you 6400 points, which is up to $80. Add in character slots (320-480 points per, depending on whether you buy five at a time) and you're looking at a hefty price tag for something marketed as free.
My recommendation to TwilightPhoenix would be this. Drop $5 on the game (also gets you another token as your first points purchase) and purchase an invention license for a month or two. Use your free slots to unlock your favorite characters that aren't also behind a class lock. Play the game for a bit that way and then decide if its worth any more to you. -
I'll take a spot on Astribulus. Faathim has one of the few task forces he's still missing.

That's absolutely correct. It's the whole point of enhancement catalysts at the moment. They turn archetype sets purple. One thing to keep in mind is that they count as two separate sets for purposes of bonuses but the same set for uniqueness.
For example, if you wanted a lot of accuracy you could do
2-piece Blasters Wrath + 2-piece Blasters Wrath (Superior) for a total of 22% (7 base + 15 superior)
But you can't do
Blaster's Wrath: Accuracy/Damage + Blaster's Wrath: Accuracy/Damage (Superior) -
Quote:I'm going to have to go with no, he doesn't know about how Imperious died. Before the player (red or blue side) breaks into Wade's lair and finds his plans, there's no evidence that anyone other than Wade and possibly Ghost Widow had any solid information about the end of Imperious. Once we find out, we also find a note saying amongst other exposition:The big question is does States know how Imperious went down? If he does, he's every bit the chump the writers turned him into.

Six, on the other hand, just didn't work. In addition to what others have already said there's also no evidence that I can find that we should know Wade has Psyche's powers. The mission text just says that we do know somehow. Do we just assume that any super that dies empowers Wade while he has his obelisk?* It certainly didn't look like she was being drained as her powers increased to uncontrollable levels. Even if he did somehow get them, doesn't that mean he just set off the psychic bomb centered on himself?
*Though that level of paranoia is arguably warranted at this point. -
No one seems to have covered this bit yet:
Minions can attack while swimming. What I think you may have encountered is this bug. Occasionally when zoning into a map, pets get stuck. They appear by the entrance but won't move or attack or go away when dismissed. If this happens, use the chat command "/release_pets" to force dismiss them all. When you resummon them they should behave normally. -
I just ran into the new Circle for the first time, and all I can say is that they are amazing! I had only seem the old preview up until now which many including myself had criticized. You took that response to heart and turned it into something exquisite. Thank you so much, and great job on all of Issue 21 I've explored so far!

Thanks a bunch, MorrGan! That bug's had me locked out since last night. I'll be trying winterminal's workaround first thing after work.

I had a similar issue updating the launcher on OS X (10.5.8). After saying yes to the update, it crashed. Now the launcher gives this message when I try to open it.
"You cannot use this version of the application NCLauncher with this version of Mac OS X."
Attempting to launch CoH from a non-updated launcher gives this error instead:
"Error While Downloading!
Download failed! Error - file doesn't exist (null)"
while attempting to get cider-COHD-Updater-006998.tgz
Friends confirm that it works for 10.6, but that upgrade isn't required by the CoH system spec. I've tried redownloading the launcher, and the behavior is consistent. The game is completely unreachable until this bug is fixed.
