  1. Okay, first conflict of the moment.

    Gender and Sexuality section.

I for one am unhappy of the changes made to this section. I -did- say on my user:talk page that I would -prefer- it to be handled after the weekend, when I am not on holiday and have more access to MSN (For real time conversations with the parties involved) and the Wiki itself (for obvious reasons.)

To go into detail of my disagreements:

    Gender:

Intersexed and Hermaphrodite are the same thing. Intersexed is the prefered term to use for someone who is between the genders of Male and Female, also known as a hermaphrodite.

Someone who is of -neither- gender would be considered asexual. A worm is asexual, being neither male or female, and reproduces via asexual reproduction.

    Sexuality:

Transgender should not be listed under here. Transgender should be listed under Gender. Hence the end bit. Of course, it doesn't matter if someone is male to female or female to male, -but- a transgender category under Gender would be good for people who are searching the wiki and wonder "Gee, I wonder if there are any transgendered heroes?" just like they would for archers or buisnesspersons or any such other thing. Take for example Storm Sapphire's page. Storm Sapphire went from being Female to Male. Hence he would have the categories Male and Transgender. This means that anyone searching for male would have him come up in that list, and anyone searching for transgendered characters would have him come up in that list.

I apologise for any inconsistencies or confusion on my talk page, but at the time I was preparing to head away from home at the weekend and had to find out travel information as well (and we all know what customer helplines are like )

Hopefully we can rectify this category situation soon and get on with business as usual.
  2. Please remember when creating Player pages to use -your- User page, and not create an article of your user name (*Cough*Beet*Endcough* ), I just had to move one to User:name , and also just use the [[Category:Player]] listings and no others, please, otherwise you get listed in the categories along with characters. If people really demand it and want to see the schew in Male:Female roleplayers, I'll create [[Category:MalePlayer]] and [[Category:FemalePlayer]]. Only if there's like, a ton of demand though.

Your friendly neighbourhood Spidermod will be leaving for the weekend soon, so any immediate/pressing questions, leave in this thread or send to Pious. Suggestions to add can be PM'ed and I'll work on them when I get back.

Have a safe and wikiful weekend, y'all, and try not to burn the place down while I'm gone, or throw wild frat parties. Yes Inny, I'm looking at you.
  3. It's nice to see that one of the features I was a little hessitant to add, the Players section, is being enjoyed by people. I've made a few little alterations to some profiles, mostly in the intersts of privacy (some people were including last names), and would like to remind people that you don't have to fill in anything you don't want to, and the photo upload doesn't have to be of yourself if you don't want it to be.

I'll be away this weekend, but keeping an eye on the wiki when I can. I've got some category work to do, some tags to apply in places to some character profiles, and to sort out the three recently added supergroups, setting in redirect pages and moving their page to categories so it auto-adds members to the list.

Then, assuming I don't get eaten by anything, it'll be time to sort out the Xortel, Unity Vigil, Vigil, Unity Tower, The Pits articles, and then get to work on the rest.

    Tis a busy life!
  4. "Mama!" Kelly babbled, looking up at her mother with her large, brown eyes. Zorielle sssh'ed the toddler and then smiled, looking over to Coile.

"Looks like I've been recommended, I'll offer my services to help out." the older woman said with a nod of her head. "As for the memorial, should it take place on Friday, I'll more than likely attend, if no pressing issues arise."
  5. Zortel

    IC rumours

Heard in Aeon City Hospital this morning.
"Monica hasn't come in to work again..."
"I've phoned her place, but there's still no answer, and her mobile is off... I'm worried about her."
    "Maybe the R-"
"Don't say it... I know, but don't say it..."

    <A conversation between a nurse and a Junior Doctor.>
  6. Zortel nods, shifting her childrens position on her lap. "Aye, I'll help. Personally." she said, looking over at Mr. Campbel.
  7. [ QUOTE ]
only those with at least one image and an attributes box will be featured.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Guess that means none of mine will ever be featured.
The front page looks great though, and I'll continue my behind the scenes wiki markup fixing.

One day... one day I'll be able to write up about my own characters. This is why I need to hire a biographer.

Also, best to note, anything to do with the front page, PM that to Pious, I've not played about with it yet, so not sure what to do. :P

    Updated:
External Links section added to SGBox. This is for group websites or forums.
  8. To Do List:
    Work on Categories and Subcategories
Work on Businesses, places and other such things.
Work on sorting out some templates.
Work on adding information to non-player things.
Do own character and location sheets. :P

Anyone else got any suggestions they'd like to add? Might be an idea to take them up here than on MSN with me (Or take them up on MSN with me then post here so I remember. :P)
  9. At the moment I'm grumblingly happy fixing profiles and categories and the like, but it is time consuming, and means I have less time to put my -own- data up.

    Please, think of the co-moderator!

And Like Pious said, it's easier just to use the CheatSheet. In fact, that's what its there for. You can look at the edit page to see how some things look, but it's easier and less hassle to use a cheat sheet than someone elses page.

Less deleted entries too. You can just type.

    Your friendly neighbourhood co-moderator!
  10. Hello, Zortel here, the co-mod, working feverishly behind the scenes cleaning up mess, fixing links and categories, and generally snooping about your wiki-pages and getting things tidy.

I'd like to remind people that it's -very- important to tag your character profile page with [[Category:Character]] so you'll be listed. On my wiki-diving I've found 2 character pages so far with no Character tag, and amended them as such.

My talk page is open if people want to ask me things, just open it, edit and write with a line break below what I've written, and I'll get onto things.
  11. How'd you mean, RC?

    Also, new development:
    Category:Player.

Basically, you can use your User: page ((You get one when you sign up for an account)) as your CoX Roleplayer list page, and adding [[Category:Player]] will display this in the player list. This means that you can more easily edit your RP'er profile, link directly to your characters, and it's generally more workable and searchable than using the topic on this forum for it.
  12. That seems the best course of action to me.

I'll be working on getting City Zones made up. Then people can add in links and blurbs of info about anything of theirs that is in the zone, from buisnesses to houses and bases. I'll also be taking photos in game to upload. For City Zones, we're looking for defining images of the Zone. Galaxy City would be Freedom Court and the Statue, for example.
  13. Zorielle smiled. "Good, just making sure. Stating the obvious... like 'The fire is hot, so don't touch', mothers mode of thinking." she chuckled.
  14. Aye, I just read. I was showing my mum the pages and stuff and saw yours on the character screen.

Thanks, you have Pious to thank for the tutorials, I can't write them to save my life. The Hints and Tips for New Roleplayers was a fluke.

Also: Writing of the non-character/SG/story/player made location articles. Does anyone want to help out with this? Basically, we're looking for info on the zones, Paragon City, the Rogue Islands, existing places, groups and NPC's.

Main articles we're looking to get up at the moment:
    Pocket D
    Galaxy Girl
    Isaac the Bartender
    DJ Zero

These are the most prominent that I think are of use for us at the moment.
  15. "Mostly because Traditionalists belong to the non-military castes of Rikti society. And then you're proposing bringing the war to their homes and cities, which will more than likely sway them -in favour- of Military action against us? Conspiracys about what brought them to attack us have been covered, and counter-information is being delivered to the Rikti homeworld from what I last heard." Zorielle said patiently.
  16. "I disagree... I believe that political and cultural action, using connections to the Traditionalist movement on Earth and the Homeworld would be best for lasting peace. If we march and slaughter the Rikti on their homeworld, we'll lose the support of the Traditionalists." Zortel said, looking around the room.
  17. Zorielle held her two children close to her on her lap and smiled sweetly.

"The Unity Vigil will still work with those who the law considers on the 'other side of the tracks', when the arrangement can be considered mutually beneficial. After all, the Mothership is still operational, and I'm a firm proponent in the old adage, that the enemy of my enemy is my friend." she said, before her expression shifted to one of a steely glare around the room, mostly directed at one undesirable in particular.

"I'm also a firm proponent in keeping my friends close, and my enemies closer. I'll offer aid to any of those who are doing some good for the city or need medical attention, but those who take advantage of the Unity Vigil's hospitality, or use mutually agreeable situations as a front to get the upper hand versus any member of the group will face me."

Smiling softly, she kissed her twins foreheads and nestled them close to her. "In less grim and steeled words, Unity Tower will remain in operation as the refugees within are relocated back to their home or more suitable accomidation. In total, we lost one member, Bowfire, who died in the line of duty helping a woman and child escape from Rikti fire, one member is missing in action, we believe he is currently in the Etoile Isles, so if you see me in the neighbourhood, I might be coming to get answers out of someone. The concert was a success, DVD's of it will be sold and the money will go towards some of the charities set up to help those who lost homes in the war. I've made sure that some of it -will- be going to the Rogue Isles, but I am currently looking for someone trustworthy to distribute it."
  18. Go forth and Wiki, my friends! Wiki your hearts out!
  19. "Mamamama!" Michael Rolando said, fidgiting a little on his mom's lap.

"Shhh sweetie, your other Mommy or someone will be here to pick you up soon." Zorielle said with a soft smile, rocking the child gently on her thigh. "You and your sister just need to be good and sit on my lap till then."

Stroking Kelly's hair a little, Zorielle looked up apologetically. "There wasn't time to drop them off before getting here, I lost track of time."
  20. ((I've said it in a PM, but I'll say it here now the story is concluded.

    I loved it.

Absolutely loved it. I'd only seen bits and pieces about Jay before, but having read this it gives me a bit more of a grip for the character, the story itself reads beautifully, it's interesting, the characters come across well.

I know what's getting my nomination for August. ))
  21. Looking a little harried, Zorielle headed in to sit at her usual place, in her usual white and black Unity Vigil uniform. What was different this time was that she was carrying two small children, one on each hip with an arm around them. The girl had dark, copper-red hair and was wearing a light blue dress, asleep despite her mom's hurrying, and the boy had dark hair and a serious expression as he played with the lapel of his mom's jacket. With a smile and a nod to people gathered, she sat down with the pair on her lap, cuddling them gently.
  22. Good news is I got the Hero and villain categories set up, as well as origin ones. The Storybox has been set up too, in order to use on stories uploaded to the Wiki. I'll be working on the Location and Buisness box later on.

As for the other categories, I think that if what I was planning works for getting the LBGT category set up, I might know how to set the other ones up. The SG image placeholder is created and posted, and the pages for Zortel and Unity Vigil should be completed soon, I'm bringing info together for Zortel's profile and writing new stuff, which is delaying that slightly.

The guides for the SG and Storybox need some work, I'm useless at writing most kinds of guides. And I'd like to try and get some subcategories for LBGT set up, but not sure how to do that.
  23. Update from Camp Wiki:

Me and Pious have been moderately busy beavers and engaging in jet-set, cross-atlantic MSN conversations talking with two nice people from the Virtue Wiki, going through the hows, whys, wheres, whats and huhs of Wikipedia making.

Pious has done a stellar job with our CharacterBox template and editing it to suit our needs (and a nice black/grey colour scheme instead of red and blue, more on that later), and I'm now butchering the CharacterBox template to get the SGBox template running. There's a few teething problems with it that I'm trying to work out, but code monkeys got into my notepad document and now I'm too scared to come out of the desk.

Once you get down to it, editing the Wiki to look reasonably presentable for your articles is easy as goblin pie!

... Just now we have to do the battle with character categories and subcategories, Supergroup categories and subcategories, and then work on the templates for buisnesses and places. Possibly a storybox for any fiction work posted up on there.

I'm also pleased to announce that in addition to our {{mature-content}} and {{subversive-content}} warnings to put on profiles that may contain them, we now also have a warning for the most dreaded thing on the Union server.

    Yes.

    Lesbian Catgirls.

Typing in {{Catgirl-content}} will input the "Catgirl Warning: The following contains lesbian catgirls. Viewers continue at your own risk." warning.

Edit: I realised I digressed about Lesbian catgirls and didn't mention the box thing. On the Virtue server, they have HeroBox and VillainBox templates. As things aren't always so clear cut, we've decided to go for CharacterBox, removed Threat/Security level and changed that to Character Level, though that's more for IC/OOC teamup info than anything else. Plus this way it means that non hero/villain NPCs can be included a bit more easily too.
  24. Woohoo! Will get to article writing then once it's done.
  25. ((Touche, Bright. Touche. ))

Unity Tower Lobby - The Setup
    Floorplan: http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i3...UnityTower.gif

The stage has been set up along the south wall of the lobby, lighting above it, with the sound system set up already for the bands to plug their instruments into. Microphones are the only things provided, but the Vigilants will be shipping in bands instruments (or the band can) between acts.

At the north wall, toilets are provided, as is a counter for drinks and refreshments.

There is space on the floor for people to stand, as well as two balconies, the upper one to the west wall by the elevators, and the small balcony to the north wall. The south wall balcony is being used for sound equipment and is off limits.

Backstage there are facilities provided for the band, food, drinks, toilets, that sort.

    The Opening

The Concert begins at 2PM, with Zortel, real name Zorielle Rolando, commander of the Unity Vigil, giving the opening speech about the war, the cease of invasions, and how they shouldn't let our guard down, but still try to get on with their lives. She continues with saying that Unity Tower will be open for as long as people need to stay before they can return to their own homes. After a one minute silence for those who fell in the war, she gets on with introducing the first band:

    The Volta Supremes
    Mike Aarons: Vocals/Keyboard
    K.C: Synths
    Jackie B. Patterson: Drums

This band hails from Independance Port, taking part of their name from the reactor on Power Island, are signed with Paragon Print Records and deliver their usual mix of dance/electronica, with popular songs such as the industrial-dance sounding Geiger, the disco-esque, upbeat rack The Dome, the futuristic dance/electronica Wired and lastly their dance club hit, King of the Streets.

The curtains close, and then open again for Act 2:

    Quadrophonic.

    Vocals/Lead Guitar: Quadrophonic
    Drums: Danny D
    Bass: Bassic
    Keyboards: Ali Rivers

This recently reformed soft rock group hail from south of the Mississippi and are lead by a young woman with a unique multi-timbral voice capable of singing the most incredible harmonies. This band rocked Paragon City for the last time 2 years ago with their hit single "Papa's Kiss", before vanishing into obscurity.
Now, back and better than ever, the quartet rocked their way through well known cover tracks like "Paradise City" and "Layla" before settling down to a heart rending rock ballad about a young mutant's fight against bigotry, called "I'm a Person Too".

    Act 3:

    The Lyrical Cyclone
    Vocals/Beatboxing: Ron Himesaku
    Backing Musicians: SoundBoard

The next act is young metahuman rapper, the American-Japanese 17 year old Ron 'The Lyrical Cyclone' Himesaku, coming from Skyway City and popular on the underground rap scene in the city. In addition to a few of his staple raps like Solidarity, The Crew, Walk Under The Bridge, he delivers an impressive and deep freestyle rap about the war, utilizing his impressive talents as a beatboxer while rapping, though gives the audience a bit of a fright as he starts the song with an accurate rendition of the dreaded sound when the War Walls shut down.

    The next act soon follows...

    Galaxy Girls
    Vocals: Teya Kane
    Vocals: Charity Goldstein
    Vocals: Mimi Byrons
    Vocals: Kelly Richards

This quartet of teen pop singer girls, Teya, Chaz, Mimi and Kelly all came together at the Galaxy City School of Acting and Music where they were snapped up by Soundwave Records, and perform their pop singing and dancing routine of uplifting and upbeat songs, from the superhero inspired 'Ladies of Liberty', their number one single All Over Nothing, depicting teen squables over the unimporant things when there are much more pressing concerns, the B-side 'Paragon's Princess' and finishing on their latest pop hit going into the charts soon, the happy and light sounding 'We're Here'.

There is a 10 minute intermission before the next band takes the stage:

    Nene MacAllister + The Nines
    Vocals/Lead Guitar: Nene MacAllister
    Vocals/2nd Lead Guitair: Isaac Anderson
    Bass: Ashley Yves
    Drums: Sophie Reynalds

Hailing from Alternative/BDSM nightclub The Pits in Kings Row, where frontwoman Nene MacAllister started singing there on their live music nights, Nene has been linked to musician Dee Dee Diablo, as well as having a relationship with her groups bassist Ashley Yves. The bands image is certainly unique, with Nene herself looking like a cross between Librarian and Dominatrix, taking the front of the stage in a leather corset, knee length skirt and buckled platform boots. Fellow singer Isaac is a slight distraction in just a sleeveless white unbuttoned shirt and black jeans, bleach blonde hair and piercings one of his most recognizable features. Dressed rather androgynously is gendermorph mutant Ashley, switching forms at times during the song, while the pale haired and grey skinned Sophie sits behind her drumkit.

The opening song is an original penned by Nene MacAllister, titled 'Learning By Doing', a motivating and energetic track with Nene on Vocals and Isaac on lead, singing about learning by example from those around her, the chorus steadily building up with a steady, pounding bass and drum and a soaring riff from the lead guitar into an explosion of the last two lines:

Step by step and day by day, I'm doing what I can to find my way. I'm watching you, as I make my steps, I guess I'm just, Learning by doing.

The next track brings both vocalists and lead guitarists into playing and singing, in the thrashfest of rapid bass and clashes of riffs 'Ad Ultimum', depicting a clash of two titans fighting to the last, depicted in the battle of music and singing between Isaac and Nene, with Ashley and Sophie setting the frantic pace and backbeat to the story of two fighting till victory, the music frantic till the end when both fall.

After a small pause for a quick drink of water, the four get back to playing with Nene taking lead vocals again as she sings the self-penned song 'Taming My Devil', a mix of solumn and steady playing followed by fits of frantic playing, depicting the personification of the problems many bands and musicians go through and the temptations offered there way, Isaac playing the voice of these temptations in counterpoint to Nene's singing as she tries to calm this personal devil on the shoulder getting the wicked, tempting and ultimately self-destructive lusts under control.

For the next song, Nene takes the stage by herself, swapping her black Fender Lead 2 1980 model for an acoustic guitar as she sings 'Father Dearest', a simple, softer and clear song much in departure from the previous songs, using a simple set of chords to underline the message of being accepted for who she is and thankful for what her father did for her, the chorus changing each time between verses.

    Chorus One:
Father dearest, be there please, when I need you, if I'm on my knees.
When I'm happy, when I'm sad, if I'm laughing, if I'm down...
    Be there please.

    Chorus 2:
Father dearest, be there please, for when you're near there is nothing I should fear
If there's trouble, if there's war, if I'm near you, I'll endure...
    Be there please

    Chorus 3:
But Father dearest, you should know,
If you need me, you just call,
I'll be there, standing tall, right beside you till we fall...
    So let me, please.

The final song from Nene, the rest of her bandmates join her for the surging piece of musical ecstacy titled 'Encore', where on lead and vocals Nene gives a rather sexual and innuendo portrayl of the thrill of an encore, her guitairing, supported by Isaac's supporting riffs, invokes the exaustion from playing a gig before the surge of second wind for 'one last one', building up through the versus to the climatic chorus.

All again I feel that surge, the rage of emotions, I have that urge
I'm coming again, I'm coming again, my encore builds until it goes,
I'm coming again, I'm coming again...

The band leave the stage and the curtains close, ready for the next act to get set up:

    The Last Word.
