  1. Thanks for the info.

@pg - may have to load up your build from the petless MM thread.
  2. I'm down to planning out the last power on my build on a Water/Traps/Dark Corr... I'm currently looking at Triage Beacon (since I have no Heals), Dark Consumption (because I use quite a bit of Endurance) and Time Bomb (to throw down in the middle of some 'trops or after a Geyser).

    Any thoughts? Thanks in advance!

[Oh, and Gaussian's proc in Tidal Forces or Soul Drain?]
  3. Not a bug; that's how the Hybrid mechanic works... 2 up then 2 down (the 2 up translating to however long within that 2 minutes you actually keep the toggle running; if you detoggle it before the 2 up ends; you still have to wait the full recharge period before you can use it again.)
  4. Here is a quick example for a 'petless' Demon/Traps:

Its built with some focus on recharge; you'll need it to help you stack your -resis debuffs and keep those stacks for longer periods of time (from your primary attacks as well as multiple Mortars).

The recharge will also help you to maximize the damage output from *Caltrops and Mines

The costs associated with this build shouldn't be too prohibitive; especially once you start pulling in money from higher level content and sell-offs. (Tickets, Merits and Alignment Merits will also be your friend in the long run)

*[Yes, I stand by my Caltrop slotting:

The 2 Recharges (plus your globals) will allow you to stack a patch of 3 (tripling its damage) for about 5 seconds (while you'll still be doubling it for around 20secs).

Hasten will increase that triple damage for 15 seconds; double damage for 30. Invest the time into getting Force of Nature and (with Hasten) you can 4x that damage briefly.

When I have room to fit Damage into Caltrops, I do; especially being that I'm utilizing so much -Res. Two Acid Mortars should be able to whittle down most resistances to the point that you are getting the full value of your slotted damage ticks (x2, x3 and x4); your Whips allow for even more damage from your Caltrops.

The 2 Slows will help to keep them soaking up that damage

Combined with Poison Trap; Caltrops aren't even having to fight against Regen anymore. ]

The build will softcap you in four areas; provide decent defense everywhere else and give you some resistance and (a biggie) mez protection.

This will make you a minion killer, primarily and you'll also be a benefit to your team by adding team defense buffs and a massive amount of enemy resistance debuffs (although a Sonic/Trap Corr would be a better version of this).

[I didn't include Accolades or Incarnate Abilities into the build although I would always suggest getting Force of Nature and Demonic Aura (or their Heroside counterparts) for all toons. For Incarnate; Agility Core (+rech/+def) and Reactive Radial Flawless (more damage and more resis debuffs (ie. more damage).]

Outside of her being a showoff, the vid itself is actually harmless; its not like its a half-time at the SuperBowl wardrobe malfunction or anything.
  6. Magic Origin for the -Res temp power

Blackward, Sands of Mu, Nemesis staff to fill in attack chain gaps

Storms or Traps as the secondary:

Storms will get you 2 stackable non-MM pet powers and supplement your damage (the same as it would for the minimal attack chain having Controller)

Traps will net you stackable Caltrops, Trap Mines and Acid Mortar for needed damage fill

Fighting Pool will be helpful... even moreso when the pool changes take effect, as will the Leaping (and possibly the Presence) pools

Almost any EPP should help with survivability and additional damage (although Soul will give you OG to help you become a better minion killer)
  7. 4-slot Cloud Senses (making sure one of them is the damage proc).

I'd prefer that if they're going to use the resources to do this that they keep both options available to players.

There's something to be said about the flexibility of body paints (on many items) that may not transfer over well to textured pieces.

Its loading for me but just in case its the scene in The Matrix where Neo leaps inside of Agent Smith; vaporizing him from within.

    And of course, there's this:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LYEIAb0iQmw

Difference being the first one isn't really an act of range debuffing; the second... well, I guess swallowing someone is a great way to limit their range.

  12. I know I asked about turning the Origin Temp power into a proc effect for all powers or an actual slottable power on the Freedom Friday Q&A and they responded that they had something in the works.

Just taking into consideration debuff debuffs... and he'd be attacking himself from the inside out.
  14. Do Range debuffs stack from different sources; for instance: If my Brute uses Taunt (-75%) on a target while his Storm Lore pet uses Hurricane (-60%), does he get a total Range debuff of -135%?
  15. Thanks for taking the time to verify that for me.

    ...and /bugged.
  16. Wanted to see if anyone could verify that a bug I'm seeing in Mids is rooted in an in-game bug:

Kinetic Melee's Burst says it does KD/KB but in Mid's (and in City of Data); it doesn't allow for KB/KB set slotting... instead, its accepting Stun Enhancements (but not Stun Sets)?
  17. How does that KD work out in 'trops? Whenever a target first enters the patch, every 10 seconds or what?
  18. Would it be possible to go through the Head Details subcats, see which items would work with the Monstrous and Animal heads and build a Details subcat for those two categories? (even if its only a little at a time...)

Also, can we get the glow and/or reflective surface options added for current costume patterns (like tiger stripe, isles, sinister, etc)?

    Thanks.

Kinetics is also a very melee oriented set, even though it's coupled with a ranged AT.
I second the use of /Kinetics. You're draining someone of their 'strength' and using it for your own. It provides classic vampire abilities as well; enhanced strength, celerity, (the semblance of) flight, rapid healing and unrelenting energy.

Recolor /Rad and you can take more of a 'dominance over humans by mere presence' approach.

/Time could play heavily into the Celerity theme.

As far as companion sets to the above, I would suggest Dark (Nosferatu) or Psi.

    ================================================== =

    For melee:

    Stalker (primarily; followed by Brute)

Dark Armor, Energy Armor, Willpower, Ice Armor (if they get rid of the blocky fx), Regen or SR.

Coupled up with Claws (if you're going feral), Dark (if you're feeling the Nos vibe); if your preference is post 90s action vamp: MA, StJ, Ninja Blade/Katana or even DB.

    ===========================

    Side Pools:

Presence, Concealment, Speed; possibly even TP
