  1. ((Roger that, gives Anth and Devious a post in-between.))

Rifling through the office, Acanous found a water cooler, and conical paper cup dispenser. He took a drink, sighed a little, and filled it back up.

Turning to Anthius, he lowered his hood, exposing his face.
"So, what brings you to this part of the multiverse?"
Acanous grinned, leaning against a wall. Whatever it was, this was gonna be good.

    Hero Chronicles

it's nifty, except the Rikti aren't extraterrestrial, they're Extradimensional.
  3. ((Ac and Anth just TP'd into an office. [unless Anth decides to dodge me >.>] Feel free to take your next action, although if you decide to attack through a window I'd see it))
  4. ((Don't mind me, just putting this back on the first page...))
  5. ((Ok, been 7 hours. I get to bump))

((Magical teleportation works more on perspective and belief, from what I understand. As with all magic, you are trying to use your force of will to alter the universe around you, only with targetted abilities, you need to worry about the target's own striength of will. The goal here would be to alter the target's perspective to mirror your own. If the target truly BELIEVES he is fast enough to dodge your teleport spell, then your spell has a chance of failure. Especially if you diddn't factor in that your target would resist when you pushed against the mental barrier that keeps reality in line.))
  6. umm... toss a rank infront of a last name, Profit!
  7. ((Depends on the kind of IMT. if you're teleporting by-area or by-location, then yes, speed does affect the outcome, although you'd have to either know where and when the IMT would happen, and be out of the area when it was about to happen, OR you'd simply have to be moving fast enough[and erratically enough] that the person attempting to queue the IMT simply couldn't figure out where you'd be to lock you in.
Teleporting by "String", or using the quantum connection between all matter and energy in order to connect two places in space and time cannot be dodged per say, however, due to the fact that you could only lock on to "The area around sub-particle/wave (X axis location)x(Y axis location)x(Z axis location)x(Exact time of teleport), one COULD theoretically "Dodge" it by maneuvering in such a way that it would only take a percentage of your body mass instead of the whole thing. In this scenario, you're going to lose a limb at best, but you wouldn't be teleported.
Of course, teleporting VIA meathod 2 would require a supercomputer, a rather powerful electromagnet, a microwave generator the size of a fridge, and a series of precision lasers calibrated to "Bounce" the radiation, creating a "Safe" area for the teleport, so you diddn't simply kill the target.

You would also need to have the identity of one of said sub-particles within your target beforehand.

Of course, this only accounts for tech teleportation, Magic teleportation is a different story.))

    MUAHAHAHAHAHAH
  10. ((Remind me to bring this up when Scir fights Bang.))
  11. ((Something involving purple rhinoes, ballet, and a rubber duck with a bicycle pump would fit.))
  12. "You know how it is, if it gets dull, I usually find SOMETHING to keep me entertained"

Looking down to see if his enemies were pursuing, Acanous noticed the large ball of lightning heading up towards him. Taking no chances, he air-tackled Anthius, spouting off a string of random-sounding numbers as Negative energy, black-on-black cacooned them both; swapping thier area in space with a potted plant, a well stitched throw rug, and a sofa.

All three items, obeying the laws of gravity, began plummetting, catching the lightning ball along the way.

(Now imagine if you will, flaming furniture falling a few hundred feet after a skermish >.&gt

Closing the gate inside of a run-down office building that overlooked Steel Canyon, Acanous practically collapsed in the nearby fuzzy office chair, trying to catch his breath.
Wonder if there's a water cooler around...
  13. ((Diddn't know you had already fired a second bolt, thought Anth might have thrown you off, there))
((Also, I'm gonna take Devious' statement that "their chamber capacitors took a few seconds to recharge. The intruders still had a chance to flee." as an escape route over Krazy's "The Drone fired with the precision only a machine could achieve.". Was actually kinda hoping to get captured, as Ac would love the free intel later, but hey, if Anth is here, then we might end up in the Bastion or the Shard. Speaking of which, methinks it's time to post. )

Acanous watched as a metal screen slid open, revealing a duo of Arachnos Arbiter Drones. They hovered amidst the chaos of battle, advancing upon Acanous' position.
They opened fire upon a remnant of the sky raider forces, the desintegration beams obliterating two hapless Wing Raiders.

Taking the opportunity, Acanous leaped backwards, through the blown-out wall, flipping up onto a parapet.
Looking to Anthius, he called out " Despero hic, canere receptui!"
(There is no hope in this matter, retreat) ((Forgive my poor latin skillz, there's propably a better way to put it, but that's pretty much the fastest way I could think of ))

Taking his own advice, Acanous engaged his ULTRA-issue jetpack, and took off into the sky as fast as magic hand-me-down boots and hi-tech jet propultion could take him.
  14. Acanous was buffetted by the raging winds, caught in the center of the storm. Gritting his teeth, he once more opened himself to the energies of the universe, allowing it to flow through him. The arachnos troops in the near area started as he changed their energy, modifying it to once again alter his personal timescape, restoring his vitality, even as beams of red arced into his shielding energies, refracting out of the Murky Cloud of negativity encircling Acanous.
He grunted at the pain, even as the swirling sands and coalesced negative energy created intricate patterns before his eyes.

Focusing on the Arachnos troops, he once again inverted the gate, magnifying it's microstatic energies and directing them against the Arachnos (Soul Drain+Death Shroud) (Yes I toggled it back on just then >.&gt
  15. ((I call Aggro Cap!! XD Reply forthcoming shortly, just gotta work on it a bit))

    Bwerp

I'm gonna look up who actually pwnz those numbers...
  17. Wracked by lightning, Acanous dropped to his knees, just in time for a streek of plama to shoot by where his head was a moment before.

He fought it, the electricity numbing his nerves, making his whole body tingle, his twitching arm moving back to grasp the hilt of his mirror-sheathed blade. He seemed to think on it a second, then let his hand drop.
nothing is worth that... not if there's the slimmest glimmer of hope...

The arachnos spiders closed in, and Acanous concentrated, conserving his remaining stores of power.

(Depending on the next hit taken, I'll either fire off Dark Regen or collapse on the floor)
  18. ((That Scirocco's Hold or his immob?))
  19. And here I thought there was gonna be a PVP event broadcast on JFA...
  20. There were times when few stood against many, when the striength of will triumphed over striength of arms, when one man's determination could alter the course of history...

This, however, wasn't one of them.

Acanous already diddn't like his odds when Arachnos troops started pouring in like rain to aid the arbiter, but with one of the "Big Four" here in person, the only possible win would be an orbital nuclear bombardment... and Ac couldn't risk that in the middle of a populated city.

He rubbed his bruised chin cautiously.
"Well, I see that the party's over, although I must say I was expecting Ghost Widow. Diddn't think she'd pass up the chance for a tie-breaker"

Hoping to use the conversation as a distraction, Acanous backed towards the shattered window, figuring it was propably the only exit that wasn't swamped with Bane spiders.
