I won't be able to make BICS or Winter Memorabillia, so it's next year for me.
*Crosses Fingers* Roll on Omega Sektor '09. -
I got both of my books from Amazon.co.uk for around £3.99.
Hopefully the other Amazon stores will have some copies. -
Ryan grinned. "Well, I hope it wasn't my chin you wanted to hit either." The young man laughed, getting a bottle of orange juice from his minifridge before taking a sip. "It's alright, though it made my weekend with my boyfriend a little annoying. You ever tried eating pizza with your jaw throbbing? Not fun. But eh, I've had worse happen. It's alright."
Thumbing to the fridge with a questioning look at Leo, the young man soon started to pace around the room. "Question is, not what I want you to do or anything... but what do -you- want to do?" -
Monday 25th? Seeing as BESM probably won't be happening due to one of our members LARPing, I'd like to offer forwards Fusebox, the Stamina-less Elec/Elec Blaster.
... Roll on Power Sink. -
Alright!
Friday's Team (For 4 Missions. AV in Mission 1 and 4.) Gathering at 8pm at the pier ending in a square platform by Spanky's Boardwalk.
Zortel (Level 50 En/En Blaster)
Samantha Huntington (Level 40 Rad/Psi Defender)
Dee Dee Diablo (Level 50 Fire/Elec Blaster)
Nightseye (Level 49 MA/SR Scrapper)
Adam Dennison (Level 50 Warshade. Eclipse = Psi resistance! But if you wish to bring Du Lo Might, can arrange that with SK's too.)
Fanservice (Level 30 Ice/Fire Tanker)
Moon Path (Level something Peacebringer)
That leaves 1 Space free!
Saturday's Team (Consisting of 2 missions. 1 is good for getting the 100 PP badge, honestly!) Gathering at 8pm by the Fountain with Numina/Infernal in Founders.
Cindersnap (Level 37 Fire/Fire Blaster)
Headliner (Level 38 Invun/SS Tanker)
Either Miss Teen or Dee Dee Diablo
Apocalypse Seranade (Level... uh, something DB/WP Scrapper!)
And 4 spaces free. -
That also explains when you see shapeshifted PB's, you get the animation change that switches them into their form. Client loads the player data first, then toggles and such, then initiates the change.
To clarify earlier, I just dislike the term Carebear, and did not mean to imply that anyone was refering to me as such.
Cause I tell you, my Carebear Stare is purple slotted for Damage, Accuracy and Fear. People who don't like PvP and don't want to do it, that's fine (I'm someone who likes some PVP and does it sometimes.)
People who don't like PVP and don't want it at all and anyone who does is silly and a violent thug and it should be banned and removed from the game?
I'd call that a whiner.
Though now I have an urge to reactivate my WoW account and do a bit of Arathi Basin... damn you! -
"Come in." Ryan's voice came from behind the door.
Cindersnap was sat at his desk, somewhat idly flicking over various reports on his desktop computer. Attendance, reports, injuries and all the other issues that occured in such groups were displayed in an easy to view format, and he'd taken to pouring over them in moments of boredness, or in this case, anxiety.
It was fairly easy to get lost in a spreadsheet, after all.
Glancing as Leo came in, the young leader of the group stoof up and motioned him to sit down. "Leo... firstly, welcome back. We were all worried about you, y'know?" He smiled sadly. "And secondly... I'm sorry about Helen. Believe me... I know what it's like to lose loved ones, and if you ever need to talk, or just to maybe smack a punching bag around or something, the New Vigilants are here to do what we can." -
Floating around fifty foot up away from the meteor, energy crackled round Storm Sapphire as he watched. The searing blue-white energy behind his glasses flickered and twisted past the dark lenses as he observed the situation.
"Officer Michael Preston reporting in at the impact site... no activty so far." The man spoke into his commslink, bobbing up and down slightly with his arms folded.
A quick flick of a switch changed the channels on the comms device. "BODICIA, Michael here. At the scene in Kings Row, nothing to worry about yet, but keep alert and ready to send back up if needed."
"Isn't this exciting?" His Kheldian side chuckled. "A giant Kinder egg from space. Look at all the brave, happy children struggling to open it, so eager to find out what their toy is."
"You're in a droll mood today, my friend." Mike sighed.
"Perhaps. Anyway, this has your mind on other things, which is good as I was begining to tire of your pondering to marry Eloise. You know when you want to do it, you know you love her, so do it. Honestly, my dear, it's not rocket science..."
"Mmmmh... anyway. Meteor."
"Yes. Meteor. A convinent deus ex machnia to continued conversation." -
Good thing one of my characters has an Xbox 360! Just spotted the Too Human one on my way to the AH.
-
On a technical note, you can't really remove RP from the game. Well... unless you disabled the chat system or had GM's ban anyone roleplaying. RP happens in spite of the game, not because of it.
And I for one aren't asking for PVP to be removed from the game. Seeing as it in its current incarnation it's not something for me on more than a just with friends basis, and I lack the knowledge and skills to play more actively, I'll refrain from further comment on the issue.
And instead vent my hate for the term 'carebear'. :P -
In the wake of the meteor's flight path, Storm Sapphire was struggling to stabilize his shields and flight pattern. The Awakened Officer had flown up with a group of other heroes, deploying blasts or sheer brute force to try and divert or stop the meteor, to no avail. The wave of pressure from its trail had sent the Peacebringer hurtling out of the way, energy fields flickering as he span.
"Alright Michael, that was a little too close for comfort." His Khelidan's voice sounded in his head. "That was almost a-"
"Don't say it." Michael grimaced.
"Close encounter of the-"
"I'm warning you!"
"First kind." The symbiote said drily, seeming rather amused with itself.
"The years will never dull or rust your rapier wit, will it?" The police officer sighed, before picking up speed as he began to glide towards the impact site, arms stretched out in front of him. Tendrils of Kheldian energy streamed behind him as he cut through the air, angling his way to ground zero. -
I was in Warburg this afternoon, enjoying some nice IC banter on my Fire/Fire Blaster. Playful taunting to villains, comic style banter, and some clashes. Of course, with a Dominator and a Bane Spider, I couldn't really take one on without dealing with the other, so I soon got planted. I asked if some friends wanted to join me, they didn't really.
I go back out and try to have some fun, but with the enemy team mix, if I stopped to attack one I'd have been held and AS'ed, or just AS'ed. A couple of deaths involved waiting around for a while so that Rest recharged so I could regain my HP and go back out there, died a bit more, decided to call it an afternoon and play some Team Fortress 2.
In order to avoid stalker attacks while bantering on Broadcast, I had to stick auto run on and steer with one hand on my mouse, running about in a lap of the blocks while typing with one hand. It was either that or run back to the ship to talk, before heading back.
I want to have fun in PVP, and I don't really get that in PVP zones. Between having to worry between players and mobs, or even worse getting attacked in a mob and getting debt, and more than likely being outclassed by any PVPer in the zone, I'll probably just stick to Arenas, and only ever venture into PVP zones late at night to get badges. -
Constant movement is all well and good until you want to... y'know, -attack- something, whereupon you get rooted to the spot for the duration of the animation, letting anyone run up to you. You hear their weapon draw, travel suppression ticks off just in time to start running away, but their weapon hits you from 100 yards away, and if they're using Super Speed their travel suppression works off during the animation, letting them zip right after you to hit you with another attack. In the case of Bane Spiders, they have ranged weapons to blast you with as well.
In Team Fortress 2, I don't get rooted in place to make an attack, meaning I don't have to worry that the instant I want to fire a weapon that a Spy is going to put a switch blade between my shoulders. In WoW, I can break off attacks with ease, and on my Rogue use Sprint or Shadowstep to make a quick evacuation. Breaking off attacks or moving while blasting aren't really options. All I have to show up Stalkers are any Yellow Insps in my tray, and if I want to change that I either have to shell out for a +Perception to go in one of my To Hit Buff powers, mess about in a PVP zone getting bounty to buy an IR scanner to find Stalkers to defeat them to let me... uh, mess about in a PVP zone, or get Tactics, which also requires me to get another power from the Leadership pool just to get it.
Do I have to do things like that in WoW? No. Do I have to do things like that in the FPS games I play? No. -
This Friday at 8pm:
Gathering at Spanky's Boardwalk by the pier in Talos Island, the Unity Vigil's Zortel has been informed of and given the means to set back the Carnival of Shadow's operations for a while, both on the Psychic Plane and in the Material Plane. Unity Vigil members, members of other supergroups in the city and heroes through the FBSA will be notified of the request. (Level 50 mission, no one under level 21 as one of the missions takes place in Dark Astoria.)
Saturday Evening from 8: The New Vigilants' team leader, Cindersnap, has uncovered a secret underground facility that he believes warrents investigating. He'll be requesting back up for the investigation. (Level 37-38, the last mission of the Crey Cloning Project arc. I'm hoping it's the map with the tubes. ) -
I enjoyed some of my PvP experiences a lot. Usually the ones where I took friends or fellow Roleplayers in there for a little battle. Memorable was the time my MA/SR faced against Wordmaker's Claws/SR, or when Cindersnap got chased about an arena zone with by a broadsword wielding Arachidamia.
And sneaking about RPing in a PVP zone was fun, with the moment of tenseness when a villain was spotted.
But I really feel that WoW did PVP much better. I actually used Battlegrounds a lot for PVP with my characters. It was fun, could be tense at times, and you were doing it for more than kudos and bragging rights. Honour points and battleground tokens translated to purchasing items that came in handy both in PVP and PVE. *Hugs her Highlander's Leather Boots*
What do we get in PVP Zones? Bounty in Sirens Call, but if you don't have the NPC on your side to buy things due to zone balence shift, then it's pretty much useless.
And that's not even commenting on the balance issues, plus with travel powers and such. Other people know the issues there more than me. -
Ironically, CoH is responsible for more holidays and minibreaks for me than anything else. Instead of going away for a week or so, I just take weekends away to see my CoH friends or go to cons.
-
I have the final mission of the 'Upon a Psychic Plane' arc, where we face off against Giovanii... wait, that was the 8th Gym Leader in the original Pokemon games. Giovanaa... Giosomething, in any case!
Now, with the RWZ mission I did bend it a little away from plot, mostly because I wasn't sure if it had been done before. For people who -really- want to put Doctor Vazhilok and others away once and for all...
Well, keep watching this space.
I'd be more than up for any more IC missions and stuff, and will try to arrange them when I can! -
Awesome looking stuff. Leipzig will never know what hit them.
/looks for last minute ticket prices
/remembers she doesn't have a passport -
Damnit FFM, you even got me with that till I read the last bit, thought you pulled a sneaky retreat on all of us. Do that again and I'll eat your children!
... Uhh, how many minutes per pound do you think human flesh needs in the oven?
Have a good trip, and see you when you get back. Think of it... all that swealtering heat, the fierce sun burning down on you, all that walking, all those French people, no game, no forums, no MSN...
Glad it's not me! -
Thought that was the case MaXimillion, just wanted to make sure. /plots
And Col, yes it is silly. That's why I'm a firm believer in the redesign of contacts heroside to prevent the repeated missions, the duplicate arcs over contacts and so forth, and prevent getting hitched with old story arcs that you have no way of dropping. -
Okay, quick question, posed as a situation.
4 people get the same story arc, from 2 different contacts. A and B from 1, and C and D from 2. They run through the first mission, A's, and while B gets an offer to auto complete, C and D don't, from how I understand and have experienced the system.
A, B, C and D later go to Flashback Story Arc x. Do they all get offered the same contact, thus being able to auto complete their missions and enable all of them to get the story arc reward at the end, or do they get split between contacts? -

Also due to the fact that after August is when the new Maestro non reccuring payment system comes in, meaning some people could have their accounts expire now and not be able to play till next month. Hence the 15 days to nudge them towards the end of the month. I'm sure it was easier to offer it that way, than to datamine who was going to expire this month and then issue an email with a code to them, and a seperate email to the ones who expire next month.

Was fun, even if the swarms of Rikti and that pesky other guy started to grind us down. Been pondering on how to prevent that from happening. It seems like when the portal generators are aggro'd, that starts a spawn of enemies and draws aggro from the other group. When you aggro Hro'Dtohz, that starts a spawn of enemies, and when the other guy spawns? -that- starts a spawn of enemies too!
Also, I'm happy that I kept the difficulty on Tenacious (#2 setting.)
