  1. Slightly too fast/frenetic to tell exactly what's going on, but still pretty awesome.

A discussion about PvP wouldn't have been bad, it's simply not what the topic was. And when presented with that and the answer is "WELL WHY NOT?!" things go south pretty quick.

And it isn't so much that I lament not being heard. Trying to integrate the ustream crowd in the event would be just juggling too many monkeys in addition to the live audience.

It's just more that the heavy audience participation angle rather than the presentation angle makes me feel much more -aware- that I'm almost strictly an observer. At least when information is being presented to us it's not a thought that's forefront, I'm trying to pay attention to make sure I catch the information. When it's just the devs asking questions at 'us' that we can't answer, I'm very aware of it.

yeah, though the impression I got from the Revamp zone panel was largely that it -would- depend on the zone picked. Striga, Shadow Shard, Eden might be turned co-op or even villain side. But nothing else talked about had much hint of being turned that way. Which at least with IP is understandable. but again that goes back to the original point, this panel felt more like 'Which zone do you want updated' rather than revamped.

To be fair, the guys that were nagging about PvP were really obnoxious about it and basically insisting that the discussion become about PvP, even in the Zone Revamp panel which had nothing to do with PvP.

And the ustream was regarded slightly? But not much. It's just when audience participation is such a huge focus the Ustream is just a watcher either way.

There's the aesthetic issue of the Rogue Isles as a whole, but that really comes down to personal preference (I, for one, am not particularly bothered by everything being grimy and red). And a wholesale remake of the Isles to make them "brighter" is beyond the scope of what the developers would be willing to do.
Well it's less that any particular Redside zone or piece of content needs to be updated as it is just that Redside needs -more- content to fill it out. It's got wonderful core content but it has -none- of the peripheral content that blueside, ironically, has too much of.

    Thinking about it now.

I have to say I do prefer it when at least some portion about the Pummit is dedicated to 'big reveals'. The format as it is now is kind of sound, but I feel less impetus to sit and watch it via UStream. Given the heavy emphasis on player interaction over presentation for the future makes me feel more at a loss for not attending. At least with the other way I felt I could get excited watching it and seeing the different upcoming tidbits. This way, I feel kind of helpless because I can't voice my thoughts or responses in any way like the attendees, the Ustream audience is just there to observe, our feedback, not that it doesn't matter but it just isn't heard.

For the most part I don't think I walked away from this Summit, as just a Ustreamer, with anything that I didn't already know from Beta, with the exceptions of the Rad Armor and the post-apoc costume.

Well I think the IP discussion at the end was pretty much a hint that it's one of the zones they're leaning on a lil more heavily about revamping and were kind of tossing their ideas to us to see what stuck.

My only disappointment with the Revamp panel is that they really should've laid out the ground rules to us beforehand, because it was far less a 'revamp' a zone as it was 'update' a zone. Some of the ideas presented were just major revamps that, while pretty cool, don't seem like they will get much attention given the rules we got.

And the market stuff was addressed in the keynote. New super packs coming, a bunch of beta stuff, the leaked powers (Bio Armor, Water Blast, etc) and.. that was about it.

Story and endgame panel is pretty much just discussion and questions, asking players what they expect the Battalion to be and what makes us feel epic.

Lil disappointed, was kind of hoping we'd get a Dark Astoria-ish reveal for the endgame, but oh well.

Really it was all like what they said it would be, less about big reveals and more about just interacting with players, which is alright but far less interesting to a lot than the last one was. But it shows that the devs are listening to our feedback and willing to adjust things to fit that or trying to probe what our expectations are to better serve them.

So, it's over. It was ok. The power panel and costume panel were probably the most interesting, the rest of it was mostly stuff that's been on beta. Thought he leaked sets might've caused more stir if they, y'know, hadn't been leaked already >>

Yeah the rez/no rez power is pretty neat. If you're alive, it's a PBAoE. If you're dead it's a rez & a PBAoE. Hope that makes it through to the live version

Some other items of note before I got cut off by the live feed :P Brilliant design there Ustream. Sure, it loads up the last Recorded vid, then it'll cut out as soon as anything live comes on. Bluh.

Anyway, couple items I saw kind of missing from the above:

Devs asked players a few questions. One was having Unopened superpacks available on the auction house for inf. That is, someone buys say, 40 packs, gets everything they want with 36, drops the remaining 4 on the auction house. Or as something else to do with their T9 extras. Response seemed generally positive.

Nother question posed was having specific items be VIP exclusive on the market, as in you had to be VIP to purchase them. Some response was positive, some was negative and instead suggested making items exclusive for a time or offering items discounted to VIPs.

And that was where the live feed jumped in and cut me off :P
  15. That's pretty much why the devs are revamping zones.

Dark Astoria? 1,000,000 times better now.
  16. I'm actually hoping a future zone revamp ends up giving a section to a Praetorian refugee camp. And maybe integrating praetorian mobs into the area.

Glad to help! like I said, it's just a matter of understanding how many sets are in a given level range.

Personally I've mostly just used what converters have dropped. Only bought converters for one character so far. They're handy, but not exactly necessary.
  18. Next tuesday. For an event that is based on Statesman being dead.

...before the Issue update where he actually is portrayed as dead in the gameworld.

Hm, ok? Seems like it could've waited a week or two for I23 to actually be underway, but whatever! Sounds fun!
  19. Well, there's really no 'average' value since the market prices can change and vary so much.

Honestly, some of the best 'bang for your buck' for converters tends to be going by category, being able to convert a doctored wounds to a Numina, an analyze weakness into a shielder breaker, a red fortune into a luck of the gambler's, etc. Since the converters keep the level, then if you know for example there are only 2 sets in a given level range you can guarantee you'll get a specific set.

Converting off rarity is a -complete- crap shoot. You have no guarantee of getting anything you want. Converting within a set isn't nearly as risky, but you're still praying on the RNG. This, at least, can be mitigated if you're converting to a set where pretty much any piece is valuable, versus trying to convert into a very specific enhancement (ex: LotG proc).

Sooo, ya. hard to assign any specific value. Getting a 10,000 Doctored Wounds recipe and converting it to a Numina's proc for 100,000,000 is, well, pretty nice.
  20. I'm kind of in the middle on the Praetorian alignments. In part, I kind of agree with GG. While First Ward and Night Ward let you play along a little longer, they're both largely irrelevant as neither actually gives unique content, it's all railroaded along on the same track regardless of choice. At best, we could see a redefinition of the alignments in some fashion but even so that's going to be for maybe one zone? If they even put Praetoria to 50. In the end, you still have to turn to Primal earth.

But, on the other hand, I agree with Arcanaville too. While the alignments, as we see, are largely irrelevant, there's still stuff that could be done with them. Not every corner of Praetoria may even be aware of Cole's defeat, some pocket cells of loyalists stuck on black channel but unable to give up their posts (Say, a pocket cell defending against the Devouring Earth). Praetoria city was the heart of Cole's Empire, but we know from First Ward there are wayward pockets of it.

My cynical side though says that there's no more support coming for them and at best we may get some dressing that is largely irrelevant, like the repeatable First Ward contacts for all flavors. I don't think Night Ward had even that much, did it?

The further along they add to Praetoria the more and more it feels like they gave up on the initial concepts they started with being able to play a praetorian and are just slowly boxing the place up so it can be shuffled away for us to play with new toys (Battalion) and maybe serve as something the writers can dip into now and again when they're bored, like pulling a praetorian villain or faction out to use.

  22. Yes! It's also extremely easy to stutter and pause with 'uh' several times without even noticing it. Presenting your case clearly and succinctly will give you the best chance of being listened to (Again, unless you're doing something silly like trying to nag them about some non-zone revamp aspect of the game).

Or worst case, -write it down-. No one is going to fault you for just reading off from a piece of paper (Well, unless it's boring).
  23. I just haven't gotten to it yet. It's in the plans, doing one of every AT. I went with the Widow first because I like the whole psychic angle.
  24. Agent White

    More Proc IOs...

Yeah I'd rather just see additional sets.

Though sadly it seems like their current agenda is just to add more ATOs. Not that I dislike the ATOs, but they are fairly limited in use.
  25. Actually that'd be awesome if the invasion turns all the civilians into automaton spawns At least as a zone event or something >>
