Just change the position of the CAM to move it a few feet in front of you then change the yaw (in the PYR command) by adding or subtracting 1.5. -
First one, though what could be even faster is to actually get some friends to help out and have them all do it at once. You can put them 'in costume' by doing a demo edit.

It's still there - it's a sticky topic in the next forum down. AnotherDeadHero's link in the original post doesn't seem to be working any more, though. <shrug>

Character models can be placed anywhere within the map models. Including within map 'objects'. So a character model can walk directly through a hill, building, other character model, etc., by altering the model's XYZ.

Yep. In fact, there doesn't seem to be any in the game client itself. The server figures out how high things should be. You'll still sometimes see pedestrians walk through fountains and stairs. -
When I played with it (a few months back), it did the same damage per tick as grav's Gravity Distortion Field. Tornado can do a lot more ticks, of course, if you can keep it on target.

It looks like the no-folder-means-no-screenshot bug with TGA screenshots is fixed. I removed all screenshots from my screenshot folder and the updater deleted the folder as it always has. When I took a TGA screenshot, though, the folder was recreated and the shot saved. W00t!
(I did this on Test but, with today's update, I bet it's on live as well.) -
The only free hosting for videos I know of is the Internet Archive.... www.archive.org

Statesman was clearly obfuscating there.

Statesman obfusicate!? Inconceivable!!! <evil grin> -
HOLY....!! Yeah, you need to make the change to make those work. I've never seen that problem before, myself. That stuff is all figured out when it initializes so maybe your computer is really busy when you're starting the demo?

I'm gonna have to watch that over and over again!

Careful! You'll find yourself humming that tune every time you see a Freakshow! This song is almost as addictive as the old Numa Numa song. -
You absolutely must work with the crowd control person(s) in your group. Don't shoot off that AoE unless the tank has gotten some taunts in or the controller is dropping a big hold in on them. If you're getting shot at in a group then you need to BACK OFF! Lay off the AoE's and stick to single target attacks against enemies that won't/can't fight back. Doing your maximum damage per second is all well and good, but you aren't doing any damage if you're face down.
In easier missions, assisting isn't a good idea. You end up wasting attacks. However, when the going gets rough, the team needs to start ganging up on one or two targets at a time. (With the exception of the crowd control folks.) -
There's definitely some demo edits in there! You just put the Freakshow NPC in the right place and orientation (seriously tedious work) and set him to doing the dance emote. Then put the next Freakshow NPC in (more tedious work, though not as much as the first one) and set him to dancing. And so on. Eventually it will be time to make them do a different emote (gotta find exactly when, which can be tedious) so you give them a new MOV to do. And, of course, you have to move the camera around sometimes, which means moving it through a lot of points. (Super duper tedious!) Pretty much the same with the truck sliding along. And the hero. Oh, and every time you want to check how it's going, you have to start up CoH in demo mode.
I can see how it's done - and I can see that it's going to take a LOT of hours to do. These two are working hard to get these things out!
Then there's the music. The beat of the music fits right with our in-game dancing speed!? That's.... an amazing coincidence. How many songs have you heard on the car radio that matched up with your windshield wipers in the rain? I suspect somebody is using some tools there.
Definitely one of the great films! Cryptic should stick it on their LAN so anyone who needs a boost can give it a click. -
I haven't seen him update things there in a long time. Guess we lost him.

Cindy Morgan. Who did you think would get the girl? Boxleitner? He's busy playing Little House.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I really really need to get on the old exercise bike after following that link. -
The latest version of issue four now records body sliders correctly! W00T!
(Now about those Kheldians that never return to their original form..... ) -
Well, screenshots still don't work for me in the Issue 4 beta but demos sure do. I zipped up three of them and put them on the Internet Archive. You'll have to play them with your test version of City of Heroes, the current live version will just choke. (If you're using my demo launcher, just click the Test option in the upper-right of the launcher.) Make sure you save the demos in the client_demos folder of your CoH test folder! You may have to create the folder if you haven't recorded a demo before.
Thursday Throwdown Demos
P.S. I fixed the body-slider bug so heroes should look like they really were. -

Wait. What did she do to her hair? And what's with the red stripes on her suit? And that freaky eye glow?
She must be under the influence of some greater force!

That, or some Kheldian ate her face.
I'll see if I can upload some demos tomorrow. -
Well, there are two sides to the one molepoint portal. The Cascade side is fixed on Test. The Zulu side and all the sandbags down in Portal Corp are still missing.

40th level to get in to the Shadow Shard.
I think the first TF is level 40-45, maybe 46. The second is levels 40 to 50. Three and four are 44 to 50. -
I've done all the Shadow Shard TF's now. I should write up a review.....
The first one is a real bear. I really can't recommend it to anyone. There's some interesting story there on how a couple of villain groups are getting to the Shadow Shard and some interesting info on the Rularuu but it's spread over a ton of missions. Not new and different missions, mind you, but missions that are almost exact repeats. Doing this TF is like doing the Positron TF and having the server crash right near the end of every mission.
The second one is my favorite. Most of it is really nothing particularly interesting but that last mission is just incredible. The final AV might be the hardest you'll see in the whole game (depending on your build, of course) and the mission itself is downright spooky! Some history on how the Shard got to be the way it is in this TF.
The 3rd TF was kinda silly at first. Hunt missions galore. Then it settled down and got pretty good. The final AV mission was neat but too easy for us - some of the missions were harder than that fight. Keep your eye out for bosses with punctuation after their name! You get a lot of good lore on this one.
The 4th TF is very good. Good story, lots of lore, some surprises in the missions, and the Storm Palace zone has a really great atmosphere. (CoH music lovers take note of the extended versions of some of the songs we've heard back in Paragon City!) The final AV was, unfortunately, far too easy for our group. The guy really needs some love. This is another lore-heavy TF and it has a fun story, too! Bring somebody who can rez or a lot of awakens because the hospital is a long way back.
A quick note on souviners - the last two TF's do not use the running clue as the souviner! What you get instead is really great for lore but not so good for remembering what you went through. Before you contact the contact for the last time you might want to take screenshots of your running clue.
Another note - the progress bar doesn't progress for the last two TF's. Also, you never get a 'call' option in the last TF.
When we did it, there were several click-glowies-simultaneously missions in the first TF that did not require you to actually click them. You might be able to solo your way through this whole TF.
You could solo most of the second TF but, if anyone solo's that last AV, I hope some automated code kicks in, reads your build, and halves the strength of every power you've got right on the spot. Maybe two very good players covered in Hamdion enhancers and with full trays of max inspires could do it but even then my bet is going to be on the AV.
Third TF could be solo'd but not by everyone. There are some bad guys in there (elite bosses?) that would be very hard on a lot of heroes.
The fourth TF also has several simul-click missions but this time you really have to click them. What's more, there are quite a number of AV's along the way. You're going to need four folks for almost all of this TF. -
Half debt on maps even in the upper 40's? For some reason, debt per death really seems to shrink in the 40's. It went from half a dot in the upper 30's to more like an 8th of a dot by the upper 40's.

If you're looking for a place to put your videos, http://www.ourmedia.org/ can probably get it done. ('Probably' because it is very much in testing still.) It puts the videos in www.archive.org.

They do? Interesting! I wonder if it's the ranged or the melee attacks that are scaling different? What damage do other 26th level characters get when they do a brawl?
