For the record, hand-drawing anything resembling plaid is annoying.

One time, I drew fishnet tights. Never again. NEVER!

i loathe drawing fishnets. All my toons wear fishnets. Hence I draw them all nude

    win/win

    Digital Inking

Thank you I think I've finally found a method that I don't dislike, so I'm definitely planning on more.

    Digital Inking

Something I've been working on lately...a little different inking technique in Photoshop (since I dearly hate inking).

    Juke Joint Jezebel (mild nudity)
    Arciere di Terra

    Both are Wyld's toons.
  4. Like I mentioned last night in paragon one...looks great I enjoyed reading the interviews, and look forward to more...
  5. Looks really great for a first time.

And don't worry about being older and getting into drawing...I was in my early 30s when I went back to it (did some in college, but was never serious about it like I should have been). Like Rowr suggested, there are community colleges that aren't too expensive, but if finances are a problem (they are for me), there are all kinds of online tutorials that will help immensely.

If you want linked to any of the ones that I've got bookmarked, shoot me a PM

    Keep up the great work!
  6. I have too many aliases =P

    Some really beautiful work there

    hmmm...
  8. Beautiful work I especially like Barbecue Chicken. Fantastically flamey
  9. Question the First: You can't turn off the sparklies, but as someone suggested, drop the particles as far as they'll go. Won't remove them, but will reduce the glare.

Atlas doesn't give you sparklies, so it's definitely from one of the temp powers. You could always wait for it to wear off. Sadly, they do very quickly.

    Question the Second:
All of my toons have at least one identifier that carries through to each costume (not that they are usually drawn with it, since I draw them nude.) Bella has a padlocked belt (her lover, Tox, holds the key). br0k3n only has the ears and tail, with the same hairstyle throughout (but every costume is the same color scheme). For the heroes in Paragon? BAB, his arms. Miss Liberty, her belt. Statesman, his helmet. Numina, her ghostliness. Swan, the winged cape (I WANT one).
  10. I started with a Wacom graphire 4X5, which I liked very much. Two years ago, I upgraded to the Graphire 3 (6x8), and like it even better.

    I'd rate it a 10...but then, I don't have a lot to compare to
  11. You're welcome to Darque Willow (a dark/kin) or Bella Luce (nrg/therm). I have their backstories available if you want either.

Another thank you...this time to Professor Blues...for all his nice comments on dA
  13. I know a lot of people prefer mechanical pencils...I don't. I like an extremely sharp point when I'm drawing (yes, I know you can sharpen the tips of mechanicals...something about them I don't like). Anyway...I use primarily 2H pencils. I like slightly harder lead for the basic sketches. Right now, I have Faber-Castell, General's and something else...they're black. I don't worry too much about brands...whatever's there when I need more is what I buy.

I also use 2B for going over the light lines to darken things. I've got a lot of different lead weights, but those are the two I prefer. I don't care for extremely soft lead because it loses its point too quickly and I don't like the way it looks for my work.

But like some others have mentioned, it's down to what feels comfortable to you and what makes your art sing. I experimented a lot with different hardnesses of lead, with mechanicals, with woodless lead. These are simply my preference. Your mileage may vary

For erasers, I use a clicky eraser primarily. Either that or I smudge the lines (this is partially why I use a harder pencil with very light lines to begin with: less erasing). I do have other erasers (kneaded, gum, etc), but I like the clicky pencil-style one

    A few in color

Thanks for the comments on the TG pieces...I was really hesitant to put them up at first, because I wasn't sure how they'd be received. I'm glad I did put them up now

    A few in color

I've been working on getting more color images done...the latest few are here:

Felis non Grata: My kin/elec defender on Infinity server.
Juke Joint Jezebel My bf's kin/sonic defender on Infinity
Toxic Delight (NSFW) My bf's rad/rad corruptor, Tox, who duo'd with my nrg/therm to 50

The comments on dA pretty much say it all...just wanted to thank you for all your positive comments and kind words since I started posting.
  17. I really like how it looks...the no-outline is a tough one, and something I've been working hard at learning. The difference between the original and the updated version is dramatic. Looks really good
