    Agree 100%
  2. Clarification on K, L and M?

Outside of the Incarnate, Tips and Morale Systems... how many more new systems are being planned for CoX?

New Fall lineup on stations CoH and CoV or more reruns; anything new for Public Access?

    Disappointed by this

Isn't there a simpler way to approach this other that the way the team is currently looking at it; like:

Just putting generic street sign graphics, assigning those coordinate lines X and Y (as opposed to points X,Y) a name in the database and utilizing a mouseover or right-click to bring up a street name bubble from the database?

At least for major streets (acknowledging that street design in many areas of CoX are haphazard at best (especially redside; which is probably another reason that redside has that slapped together feel).

A plausible street system can open the door for whole new mission types like scavenger hunts, neighborhood tasks, etc. Could add realtime and approximate APBs, Amber Alerts, Code Adam's, etc to blueside.

And fortunately, this is exactly the tack we took with Praetoria: there's a LOT of architectural, color, and tonal contrast among the new zones, and I think it gives all players, regardless of personal taste, something to really latch onto.
Speaking of Redside, how about some additions to the landscape (where applicable) that show the effects, byproducts, waste and damage caused by the PTS?

(And still would like to see undersea caverns or access tunnels (even some ultra secret/forgotten travel line) connecting redside zones); who knows... attach it to a Corolax storyline.

More 'water' types - there's an Arachnos map that has a major cavern room with a drainage pool of green liquid (waste product?) at the bottom... can this type of detail be spread to other areas of the Rogue Isles (non-instanced); reflective of the influences that have the most impact on it (sci waste, CoT/BP sacrifices, Devoruing Earth reclamation, Corolax shard presence, Port Oakes shipping industry, etc).
  5. Adding animated emoticon faces to BC/Local chat bubbles (with option to disable their view)

Adding status icons for crash effects of 'godmode' powers and other powers that have a negative crash effect duration

Adding another zoom-out layer to the mini-map (like most mmorpgs do); that shows the entire PC or RI overview map and its relation to your current position or zone (or the zones' relative position to each other)? (A 'macro' map as opposed to a 'micro' map)

Plus its 10 bucks less then CoV was.. so I'm thinking the bang for your buck, is still there.
ATs are being proliferated; no new ones.

    Tips System

The Tips System gives players a new way to find missions. During play, foes Level 20 or higher may drop notes or clues, or offer information. These Tips start new mission arcs, allowing characters to face new opponents and challenges.
Good stuff. Expand this into ambiently highlighted pedestrians (non-morality type stuff) and we're gravy.
  8. So, what was up with the Arachnos City Hall building?

I can say for sure the prospect of playing hero content again but with a villain does not really excite me. I just keep wondering if our game engine is too limited to provide us with anything truly new(e.g. AT specific missions where a force field defender could protect citizens from falling debris, mini-games where skill is necessary and winning equals clicking a glowie or more physics-oriented gameplay, as a few examples).

That said, I will still be buying GR as I always look forward to new powersets and the zones designed with Ultra Mode in mind are something I can't wait to see since I love the exploration aspect.

This is the way I felt about the Flashback system (and said as much when they brought it to the table). I think they should've brought in more solid 1-50 storylines; like they did with the EATs (for Origins and Patrons as well as not dead-ending the potential Matthew Burke counterbalance to Operation DESTINY) for the standard game and being able to unlock 1-50 storylines for Cimerora, RWZ and other pivotal locales (similar to what's being done for Praetoria).

Now that we're getting the 'choose your own adventure book' mechanic filtered into the game; they should use it for more than just the morality meter.

I would hope to see them use it at some point to help polarize characters' standings with the many sub-factions within the game.

    [Or to create/define Contact paths]

At some point, CoX has to grow beyond just pretty colors and button-mashing.

    IMO
  10. So, was the 'what to do with your clone' portion of the new Dark Mirror arc a preview of what to expect out of the Alignment System?

Since Epic pools cover the charecters holes up, I always saw villains as getting the larger advantage because of it since they deal more damage originally, at higher levels defence/resists dont make as much difference.

Tankers vs Brutes at higher levels for example. Tankers still take a lot more damage, but at 50 in a regular team its generally faster if you have a brute since they kick out much more damage yet still have enough resists/defence to get through most mobs.

If it wasnt for the single target taunt im pretty sure scrappers would be the same case.

The point I cant justify is why villain patrons get pets and heroes ancillarys dont. Thats always bugged me and ive always seen it as unbalanced in that respect.

I see many heroes picking villain patrons just for that reason alone.

My original problem with EPP/PPPs was that Heroes automatically got them while Villains had to jump through a few hoops to get theirs. In that regard, now there's parity.

As far as hero pets go, until we know what the Hero PPPs and the Villain EPPs are, it remains an unknown factor and can't really be considered a focus point at this time.

Keep in mind we still only get access to four pools total, no matter how many more pools are available to us. There's only so many powers to spread around. Subtract a travel pool and probably the Fitness pool, and you've got two choices. How many Patron pools have a good power at Tier 1? That's about all you'll have room for in most builds unless you forego the Epics.

I can see taking Patrons for concept over Epics, but not generally for playability. Epics were designed to fill in holes that Hero ATs have. Patron pools were not.
That's fine but irrelevant to people wanting options... and that's what the game is trending towards; more options (as it should). Does it really matter what the differences behind the implementation were? To many, not really. Sure Epics were made to cover holes and PPPs were more for flavor, but that's not really the point.

A player can have the best archer in 3 known dimensions but there's just this one technique that eludes him/her. Or the best sword-arm on the planet... that desires to improve his game by learning from a potential teacher how to get the materials needed or the crafting knowledge to create that weapon that somehow makes the average swordsman plow through those that would normally best him.

Or maybe the character is looking to expand into abilities other than their mastery of bow and sword.

Adding EPP/PPPs isn't much different than the way they've staggered additional powersets to ATs to cover [and sometimes creating] concept or balance gaps.
  13. Sometimes, when enemies in front of you attack from range, the projectile animation plays as if someone had blasted you from behind; nothing like spinning around to fight a target that isn't there.

Is that a necessary evil or can that be fixed?

    Please look into it.

And yes I DO love this picture.

If not for players, then definitely for NPCs... in general; any idea suggested here that cannot be implemented for players; currently, please think about applying them to in-game and MA(AE) NPCs. (And then, whenever possible/feasible, filter them over to player characters)
  17. revisiting in light of of the market merge announcement.
  18. I don't know how much of this applies to animation:

I like the option of playing from a top-down view but the problems that I'm having is that the camera goes into closeup mode indoors and when passing underneath structures.

Another problem is that the distance/location marker doesn't accommodate that method of play.

Lastly, flight is problematic for me when in top-down mode; flight mechanics seem to stay with 3rd person mode.

If there are solutions already available that I am unfamiliar with, please let me know... otherwise can some options be added in to make top-down play more viable?
  19. Would it be possible to name all the streets (where feasible) and then put up street signs with those names on there... give players a 'real-world' point of reference when finding places, contacts, objects, events and each other?
  20. Sorry for the late response; caught up in the 'next big thing'.

Female, yes. But the face detail is Cyborg 2. I also made her rail thin.

As far as the coloring, I did the blueish-green skin and opted for a lighter blue for the bio coloring Going with a lighter shade of a similar hue can help the glow effect; there's a trick with the auras you can do as well).

My posted pics aren't high quality so all of the gory detail doesn't come out as crisp as it may be when you're seeing it in the creator on your screen.
  21. Some FF, call up the Baphomet, type animation as a super-rare, craftable emote.

And, as a subjective note... please don't hand over everything as a freebie or a gimmie; make some of these things (costumes, animations, etc) also come as unlockables and craftable items please.

  23. Thanks for the feedback on the alien bloodhound pics... just trying to show that the new stuff isn't 'demonic only'.

OT - for monstrous we have claw and hoof; adding paws could go a long way. Will experiment with available pieces... see what kind of animal stuff can be concocted.
