I use all of my Origin Pack temps:
Self Destruct - then Self Rez (especially Self Rezzes that do damage); use it to avoid debt; quick route back to Kalinda in Mercy, etc.
Secondary Mutation - Global self buffs w/o having to scrounge for IO sets
Ninja Run- Bypass (for the most part) a travel power selection (ie. TWO FREE POWERS!)
Mystic Fortune - Almost always gets used on teams; with as much play as SB (by others as well as me)
Super Tailor - Not a Temp as much as it was a systemic upgrade. When I am using it, I don't notice. -
Quote:Just a quick addendum... can we get "Combat Aura" as its own Category for more than just the ACHUUD (while allowing the current Combat Aura items to be used in the main Aura Category)?Since Issue 18 (last issue). At the tailor, at the end of each aura's list of various options you'll find all the same choices with the combat mode option.

Hopefully, this would allow characters to switch auras when switching combat modes and declutter the current Aura Category. -
one hundred milli
Ed MacMahon style "All for you"
Snowball's chance in hell -
On the robe thingy... it seems that there's an issue with any non-pants gear dropping below the knee... perhaps we can get a hybrid that splits somewhere near the knee...
like Shorts 3 (in the Costume Screen) with a hang cloth over the front and rear; down to the knee or an extended Baron's jacket as starter templates? -

Quote:This again.I both agree and disagree.
While it can be annoying to have to wait to unlock "that perfect piece", I like the rewards mechanic, giving me something other than XP/Inf/recipes/salvage.
My preference would be that meeting the conditions of an unlock for a certain part grants a "costume part X unlock token", that is granted account-wide. Each token unlocks that part for only that character, but this would let you stock up unlocks for newer toons.
I'm not for account wide costume unlocks for individual efforts. I do, as Hallowed stated, like the rewards mechanic... giving something other than IO Recipes and fodder for such.
That being said... any unlock given should be minor; course of regular play stuff (no ITF stuff (unless we're talking signature pieces)... no Vanguard Merit type stuff).
I'm all for dividing NPC costume pieces into things that can be bought (straight out or in recipe form); earned by defeating the NPC group the piece belongs to; Accomplishment/Achievement badges, as random drops (recipes; from any mob (but better if it comes from the appropriate mob)), etc. These can be done as stated or being dependent on the mob level and/or rank that the costume piece is associated with.
True... anyone can go get a sash from bargain mart plus (but really, you can't... or you'd have one already) but not everyone can get a actual Carnie sash straight from a Carnie's waist (or a KoA harness, Tsoo Sorcerer amigasa/tattoos, PPD helm, etc) fresh out the Acadmy (or out the Zig). Sure, background story might give reason why you might have access to one (or more; but not all (without being a hack of a roleplayer)) but that just doesn't fly or apply to 300k+ characters.
And that's what we're ultimately talking about, right... actual NPC costume parts? Not just some knock-off brand?
If we are talking about some cheap knock-offs though... then I guess having them at level 1 is okay. -

I would pay $10 for this more readily than the Party Pack.
10 Auras and 5 Capes = 15 Costume pieces.
And if I read correctly; there's an option to make Aura's normal or combat specific?!? Is that something that is coming to us because of the pack or independent of it?
[Having these available at lvl 1 is awesome (despite arguments against); being that we're paying $10 for it]

Subjective/Objective:
Glowie/Zowie sound and visual effects need to be more pronounced.
Liking the fluorescent buzz of Tunnel lighting
I would like to see a little audio to match the visual NPC dialogue cues. -
lol, personally... I didn't see the need for two trailers (possibly three) that all cover the same general thing; especially in such a short window. The main i19 trailer should've (and did to an extent) overviewed both TFs and the Incarnate System; leaving details for non-trailer, 'breakdown'/commentary vids (like they used to do).
The second trailer, IMO, was redundant and not worth arguing over.
[Don't get me wrong, I liked both vids... I just felt I was watching the same thing twice] -
Quote:I would hope that, since Pets are basically player controlled NPCs, some of these could be almost a direct port (with color tweaks that make them distinguishable from their Enemy Group counterparts); others would kinda be pushing it... but I would like to see the push.I LOVE these ideas for customizing pets. Brilliant. I've long wanted to change my pets up. Just add Trolls to Thugs for Masterminds. Tuatha for Plant = /drool.
This is one of the last segments keeping us from almost total 'costume' customization. -
PPD Drones as an alternate for FFG and other floating 'devices'
PPD Guardian and Enforcers as alternate designs for MM Robotics
Malta Operatives, KoA, PPD SWAT Officer, Ghost. Equalizers and/or Grenadiers as alternate designs for MM Mercs
Prisoners, Family, Skulls, Hellions, Praetorian Resistance and or Destroyers (all types) as an alternate design for MM Thugs
Tsoo unmasked Ink Men as an alternate design for MM Ninja
Banished Pantheon, Vahzilok and/or Halloween Event Zombies as alternate designs for MM Undead (minions)
CoT Hordelings as alternate designs for MM Demon Summoning (minions)
Gremlins as alternate designs for Electric Control's pets.
Tuatha and Devouring Earth Plants as alternate designs for Plant Control's pet.
Slag Golems, Devouring Earth's Rock and/or Crystal critters as alternate designs for Earth Control's pet.
Winter Horde's Blight or Snowbeast as an alternate design for Ice Control's pet.
Lanaru's Head, body patterns and top portion of belt
(Rikti MMs) -
Looks like quite a few toons were using it at about the 35 sec mark... assuming it's the Alpha Slot power (or one of many Alpha Slot powers) they say that's critical to taking down those giant critters.

Quote:I agree and have already stated how I felt about TF unlocks for costumes; sucks. I still want freebies too but I won't have a conniption if I have to put a hurting on a hundred Carnies to get those snazzie back pieces they've got.I have never done the Moonfire TF, and I never plan to. If I had to do it to get the sash I have been wanting for years, I will not be happy about it. I don't always have the time for a TF, I know I am not alone in that.
I can live with defeat unlocks, because they can be done a little at a time, TFs (no matter the original design idea) are a start, and finish event in most cases.
[I'm going to alter my thoughts a bit. I would say the exception would be 'signature' pieces that we're not supposed to get anyway. So, instead of getting Roman Armor for the ITF (as an example) you would get Romulus' Roman Armor and Nictus Aura. (meanwhile, the standard armor pieces could be purchased from the Cimeroran vendor as a piece or a recipe] -
Quote:No. They are not enough and mostly irrelevant to 'shinies' (ie. extras). Good costume bits are always going to be in the pipeline (for free or fee); so waste is irrelevant to the issue."Shinies" in the broadest sense, yes. Costumes, no. All this does is waste good costume bits. Are badges, recipes, ehancements, experience, inf, prestige, powers, slots and levels not enough?
I say this again - having to unlock the "good" costume pieces before you can make a specific costume is no different than having to unlock the "good" letters of the alphabet if you want to make a decent name, and I hope your ideal heroic name doesn't contain any vowels.
I, personally, like unlocking extras that are off the beaten path of repetitive, linear progression. And after playing through over 2,000+ plus levels and about as many hours of repetitive, linear progression; going off the beaten path is what keeps things fresh for me... keeps me coming back.
Funny thing is, for as long as you, I or any other long standing player is concerned; most of the requirements that could be thrown at us (in a minor sense) has already been met by more than a handful of the toons in our possession... so the issue of unlocking (as far as you and I are concerned) is mainly moot except for new and fairly new toons; which at our experience and abilities, would make it a breeze to go through and have most minor extras unlocked in short order.
Honestly, I don't subscribe to the philosophy of needing to have everything right off the bat; I don't live in a Ricky Schroeder world. But to each his own. -
Quote:I didn't say anything about high end rewards; doing a TF for a costume set sucks; including the ITF. And no matter how you color it, enhancements are enhancements are enhancements; the four things you listed, all one and the same to me... a grind for slot fillers; meh. There already are. Their called IOs and HamiOs. Purples and PvP IOs.
Costumes are the one thing that should never be classed as 'high end' rewards. Doing the ITF for Roman armour? That makes sense. You get a full set of costume parts for doing a thematic, tied in TF.
Doing a MoLGTF for one costume part? No. Just no. Having to pay stupid ammounts of Vanguard merits for the VG armour is bad enough.
What I'm suggesting is normal course of play rewards that anyone can attain; solo or team... with multiple ways to earn them.
Am I saying that all costume pieces should be released this way? Of course not but there's nothing wrong with mixing it up a little (short of charging $10 per set). And there's nothing wrong with not getting everything handed to a player on a silver platter. (I would even contend that the 'strings attached' to the Vanguard pieces are pushing it.) -

Quote:Release some as Defeat Badge unlockables, arc rewards, Accolade rewards, recipes, shop items through specific contacts or any combination of the above. Please just don't hand it all over to us for absolutely nothing (and I don't mean cash). IMO, there needs to be more shinies to work for in the game.NO!
Hell damn NO to locking costume pieces behind TFs and s*** like that, especially not Master of runs! Hell, the Epaulets being locked behind all the old, boring Phalanx TFs is bad enough, especially since Villains don't get access to them.

Hellion and Carnie masks, Pocket D Hostess thigh high variant, PPD (Paragon) pieces, etc.
