  1. I am rereading the Monster Hunter International books by Larry Correia.

If you like guns, and monsters these books are hard to beat. That is of course is when I am not reading Christian Theology by Alister E. McGrath or Exploring the Old Testament a guide to wisdom literature By Ernest C Lucas. The last is the most boring text book ever created.
  2. Love watching her fight, it will be cool to see what she can do on the big screen.

I got this from my kids for my B-day, and I was actually impressed. It is not a deep story, but it is a great action flick. I would recommend it for a general good time. There are some cheesy lines, but the visuals, and the action are pretty good.

I think there will be a very fast conversion from Free to Premium. I really don't think people will stay at the Free status very long at all.

After Katrina most of the new stuff that went up in the SE was designed with hurricanes in mind. I wonder how different the engineering is between hurricane and earth quake resistance.

My Grandmother in Raleigh NC said she could feel tremors from it. Wonder how many people freaked and thought they were being nuked.

Or a ton of time and patients. With the incarnate store in place, with enough time it is not hard to IO a character any longer...if you have the time. Issue 21 is going to make it even easier if you are willing to spend RL cash.

Also for any wanting to make a new scrapper, I honestly would suggest waiting till i21. I know I am waiting for Street Justice, but others may not want to do that.
  9. Until Beta started all I had played since GR was a KM/EleA, really fun combo. I can't remember it being weak in the low levels, but I put those behind me really fast.

I agree with others, between PS and PP the set has no end problems at the late levels, but I also have a dream build on this toon.

At later levels PS becomes it's own form of mitigation, and I use it as an attack as much as I do for a buff to end. With the right Incarnate powers and slotting you can even shut down some AVs end recovery. I however dropped that build and went to a high DPS build, which may change again when i21 hits.

They are called Boffer LARPs, and they run all across the world. It is very hard to beat a Boffer LARP out the geek scale.

I thought the list was pretty good, but not great.

Can you imagine HOW confusing this would all be to someone new to the game? Seriously. Back when I was new, I was doing good to get Infamy down pat, lol.

Oh well. I'll get a pencil, paper and a spreadsheet and figure all this out later. Eventually I will get that backpiece. Thanks for replies, all.
Not really a Currency, it is more like the claim button on the current vet rewards. Instead of clicking a button, you place a token.

Also, the devs have said those costume options will be rotated back in. I personally would expect them to be there for over 6 months any way.

This will be a rental, or a $2 theater for me, for the same reason stated above.

Now we have to sit around and, if we want in on the fun, use existing sets that have already been there. With EA getting a tune up that, grant it, a lot of people are in favor of.

Personally, I just think it was an inconvenient decision. If it was a week delayed, ok I'll roll with that but by 2-3months, great you'll have teams with nothing but melees because nobody will be playing support and what not (I exaggerate but you get the idea, new stuff inspires curiosity).
They way they keep hinting at it, I expect it will be within 2-3 weeks. The up side to this model over the Anet model is the Hybrid brings in a constant stream of income. Where as Anet only had it in spurts. I honestly expect we will see new powers every month, if not more often.

I personally only care about the new melee sets. All I play are scrappers and brutes, hell I don't even care for tanks and stalkers. What gives me hope is you can log on and see the powers of two upcoming sets in the beta server now. The leaked video of [redacted] (and their hard work at killing threads about it on the boards) tells me that the heavy lifting has been done. That is at least two new sets within the year for us I bet.

Also take a look at some of the mobs in FW, the awakened are using what many of us think are the seeds of the much wanted Psi melee.

I really feel this change is going to be good for scrappers, and lovers of costume items. Which means, I think I am going to be pretty happy. I am confident enough that I am buying a year sub, and $130 (yeaaa B-day money) in points as soon as it goes live.
  15. You guys are talking about Paragon Rewards, and all I remember is hints about weather effects coming.

I really hope you named that toon Stripper Justice bAss.

I will greatly miss Street Justice until it returns. :/
  17. The "T for teen" rating of this game prevents the devs from doing what I think of as an assassin strike. Take a look at Tenchu, or some of the other "One Shot, One Kill" console games and you will have an idea of what I think it should be like. I have always found the power lacking in the animation dept.

It is the knife to the brain stem, the Dim Mak or Quivering Palm that stops the heart, the loss of a head, or the Sub_Zero spine pull. It should be brutal, and destructive, encouraging all around to run, or at least discouraging further resistance. In short, it should be deadly, and frightening.

For Street Justice (as it is noted by Sam in the post above mine) I think a knee to the back in which it bends the person/target in half would be perfect. I however do not think that would fit with what the game, and the rating call for the power to be.

The t2 power is great with a shield, because it looks like a Spartan shield bash. Also with spinning strike the shield is all over the place and looks like it is knocking the crap out of stuff.

Beta Server is going down in a few, so I am betting it will be today. After some tests today, I am going to go with Invul. It is the only scrapper secondary I have not played from 1-50. I am still deciding if I want to go Brute or Scrapper though.

For me, I'll be remaking an MA/SD I have into StJ/SD and a new StJ/Inv character. I thought about making a StJ/Willpower, and still might sometime in the future but for now I think those two will do just fine.
I am really torn on this. I don't really want to repeat a secondary. In beta I played this from 1-50 on /SD, 1-45 on /EA and 1-35 on /Regen. Regen was the smoothest, because there were not as many endurance issues.

I oddly have never played Invul to 50, so I am leaning towards that. This is going to be a pretty hard choice for me. /EA is exciting, but it is horrible on end, like beat my head on the desk horrible.

In the end, it will be either /Invul, or /WP I think.

This is a really fun set, in large part because of the animations. I see the attack chains being listed, but I couldn't imagine pulling Initial Strike from my build. That attack just makes it all flow better visually.

As cor CR, I always use it when I really want to unload some ugly damage. I use it to unload two finishers in a row, and then can build a 3rd one up really fast.

The biggest question I am facing is if I want to do a scrapper or a brute. I really like the energy mastery epic pool for brutes. The ability to increase max end is just too cool.

Also, with the incarnate system, I am not sure why anyone one would need to spend 16 billion inf on a build. With the new UG trial awarding 2 E-merits the ability to get purple sets just got even faster.
  23. I do not feel spoilers belong on the open boards at all. Some will know I feel the reverse during the closed beta process, where I feel the story needs to be openly discussed for the purpose of testing.

Yes, any spoiler on the boards needs to be tagged as such, and in a manner that it does not ruin the story for anyone.

In the community boards we use for HUB, we have spoiler tags that create little buttons that must be clicked on to show the text as written. I think that would be a good addition to these boards.
  24. I have tried multiple Chains with the set. I played it 1-50 on a StJ/SD scrapper, 1-43 on a StJ/EA scrapper, and 1-34 on a Stj/Regen brute (most fun of the group), and all of them felt like it didn't flow well if Initial Strike was removed.

This may because of my own MT background where we are taught every good combo starts with a jab, or it may be that the animators feel the same way.

Either way, the attack chain and animations flow much better if initial strike is left as a part of them. To me that is, ymmv.
  25. Hasten is still an eyesore. Please change the FX, or give us a few different FX to chose from. Keep the fire, but give us the option Electricity, a blure, smoke, shoot, about any aura we have could be used as an option.

Before they said there was no way to do it, but with the incarnate powers it seems there was a way found to do it. Just don't allow the pool to appear in the creator till it is chosen as a power.
