There's already a ton of gender-locked items that make less sense then waist capes (since Posi's Kobayashi Maru made it the official term) just for female Widoes do (which may be just a heap load of coding for something that looks to bind smoothly to the upper part of the costume; I can see that being a bit of trouble with the current sliders).
Heck, do Males even get a Tops with Skin category, at all? I remember when I was making the Skittles (I refuse to call them otherwise, because it's hilarious), I was disappointed to find I couldn't use the 'Tanker' top females get on the male members of the group, and had to completely redo their entire visual concept as a result. The only thing that came close was the Tank Top option, and that didn't have the same look at all for what I was going for.
I may have to go through and check, but I think in that regard male characters (and to an extent, Huge) have fewer options then female characters period. >.> -
I think I can actually tolerate my Widow costume slot now. >.>

Minor nitpick. :3 -
I really like to pretend Power doesn't exist, if it's all the same to you.

Hopping on the wayback machine for a moment (I've had a busy weekend/week, much apologies):
I wasn't so much talking about the initial positioning, as I was calling into question the fact that your average jump kick (specifically the style imparted in the video, which I go into further stating is not what could be considered your average [though it is perhaps one of the more iconic] jump kick for any and all maneuvers that could be loosely applied that label) imparts a significant amount of forward momentum when it makes the connection, often carrying the offender (IE: the one delivering the kick) past and/or through the target in question.
Eagle's Claw, technically, also does in the way it's animated, and I feel the exact same way about it - it's slow, clunky, and goofy looking. I much prefer the current implementation of Jump Kick (which is more in-line with standard street fighting/brawling capability, which is exactly what I would expect for a power-pool attack that can be considered not the realm of fully trained martial-arts, and maybe even ad-hoc mixed styles like that trained in most modern militaries and modern 'fight' clubs) over another animation disaster like Eagle's Claw (I'm sorry, BaBs. I'm sure you did the best you could with it while still trying to keep it cool).
There are very few attacks in the game that directly change your actual positioning insofar as footing, even if they do imply a jump. Look at Thunder Strike and Golden Dragonfly for an example of non-kick maneuvers that do this, and Storm Kick (I think that's the one) for an actual kicking maneuver. Fire and Ice Sword Circle also don't impart an actual change in positioning.
That particular style of Jump Kick? Most certainly would to 'feel' more realistic, given the amount of momentum going into it. -
I don't mind it at all, personally, and the only thing I can think of that seems out of place is the 3% Fire resist....
But that's more questioning the utility of it, considering I don't see that much fire damage (or enough to notice it). And that's more in the realm of intellectual curiosity then it is an actual complaint, and thematically (given the title of the badge), it works. -

PvP is a fluid an ever-evolving creature.
[/ QUOTE ]
Just to point out something I personally boggle at every single time an argument like this comes up...
If PVP is a 'fluid, ever-evolving creature', then why do people throw hissy-fits every single time the devs change it?
My personal theory is that the game can evolve, but the players can't. Almost every change is fought tooth and nail, especially if (Heavens forbid) it's done in the name of 'balance'.
I don't agree with every change to this game in a general sense, and I'm still not sure how I feel about PVP, but I do know one thing: If the game changes, I shrug and adapt as long as it's still fun. When it isn't, I leave, or focus on the aspects I do find fun.
Is that really so hard of a concept?
(WARNING: This post contains more then the daily recommended dose of random musings. It may or may not be serious, or some parts may be more serious then others. The author knows full-well that a percentage of the playerbase [any playerbase - PVE, PVP, whatever] are never accurately represented anywhere in their forms, especially not on an internet forum, but feels that for the purpose of random musings, generalites work better and easier then going into specific. And are a hell of a lot less rude. This post, by it's very nature, is not intended to upset or insult, but to provoke thought and mature discussion. Current running bet on that happening is 34%, but like every other statistic on the internet, there's a 70% chance that number was pulled straight out of the author's hind quarters.) -

I can neither confirm nor deny the existance (or lack thereof) of any clone(s) or programs to facilitate the creation of a clone(s).

I'm not entirely sure it'd be feasible to change the animation to exactly what is being asked for, and still keep the animation time tight, and as fast-executing as it is curently. There's also some issue with positioning that gives me pause for consideration as well.
There's the leap, the connection, and then landing. All of which I'm not 100% sure would be an improvement sped to 1.5 seconds.
This is all, of course, supposition, and while the current animation is less then ideal (admittedly), I'm not sure the suggested alternative is all that much better. :/ -
Competitive Interests
by @Karen Stelvind (will change in live)
ArcID: 12464 (subject to change during live)
Length: Moderate (4 missions)
Morality: Villainous
Description: Someone's paying some big money to investigate a small research firm in the Rogue Isles, with some big secrets...
I think I've gotten a lot of the major issues with it worked out - if the third mission auto-completes, I may have to completely redo it. :/ Should be in the realm of 'challenging' solo at the moment. And I'm going to make the dialogue a lot better - it feels rushed to me right now, and that's going to irritate me until I fix it. -
I know how that is... I'm still working on revising the text in my arc, and I keep getting hung up on minor things. x.x And filling in words in my head, that aren't there in fact.
I think the more familiar the writing gets, the harder it is to actually fix. That's why I never proofread my own works, and always make sure the people I do make proofread it rotate out on a regular basis so there's always a 'fresh' view on it. >>
I should've kept better notes. :/ Might've helped there! ._. -
Was very amusing having Widow Alma trooper through things in her 'hero' disguise (and it's unintentionally hilarious, to me, if you do play through it as a villain!), but found it very pleasant overall. Really liked the complexity of objectives, and felt it was well written (besides a few minor typos in a few places - all of which are very common spelling mistakes).
The only real problem I ran into was the Prisoners in the first mission all spawning as Lieutenants or Bosses, having Lt/Boss-level HP, but for some odd reason conning White and Yellow. No minions in sight. I thought I was just going crazy, but then I sliced through everything else in the mission (and the rest of the arc) far faster then I did them. But I'm not sure if that's something you can technically fix (could just be a spawn issue), but was consistent in 3 restarts to adjust my difficulty.
But, it didn't detract from the entertainment factor.
The Hard-To-Please Fox Ministry of Review gives it 4 rice bowls, putting it solidly in the 'great stuff' category.
...I'm also going to have to go through and mix things up a bit in my own arc now. Very inspiring. -
I was going to post my thoughts... but then found that Bill did it better then I could have expected to (once again - Curse you, Bill!).
To be slightly cheeky, Bladesnow, your idea sounds good on paper, but my experience suggests that the actual implementation of such would not go as you planned it to.
As cold and pessimistic as that sounds, in regards to the community at large. -
...And here I was, all set to dive into the thread like a maniac.
I'll see if I can't dig up any of my references. \o/
EDIT: Could only find decent references for Karen, and my net's being too grumpy lately to let me do much in the way of new shots. :/ Though, I'll see what I can do tomorrow.
And I really can't say how much I appreciate this. I keep failing for words! Or flailing, as the case may be. Kind of a schoolgirl syndrome of 'OMGOMGOMG!'. -

That's a very lovely design! And while moderately tempted to play around to get a similar effect... I think I'll restrain myself.
But, it's very eye-catching while remaining simple. Though, I'm with Projectionist. That doesn't exactly look Fight_OK. -
I probably won't be entering (as most of my published stuff is going to focus on group vs. solo content), but I'll definately be watching this thread in the event people post something fun to throw my Fortunata at.
Good luck to all of the contestants, and major props to Projectionist for this! -

Very nice stuff. I got a very nifty retro vibe that made me wanna dig up my Legion of Super Heroes stuff from back in the day.
Lucent Girl may be in for a costume revision in her near future... Hmm...
