A staff...that you could wave around to direct your pets, or even swat them on the bum-bum if they're being naughty and peeing on your rug, or perhaps to swat them away.
But apparently Marketing has a massive blind spot toward Staff Melee and the Devs have arleady lost track of the new powerset they've made a few months ago.
Aaah well...
I'm sure when Staff comes out, people would want to see more options for staves and maybe a sale of the Martial Arts pack and Imperial Dynasty pack and Melee SBEs for sale and Ninja Run on sale... the kind of stuff they're doing for Beast Mastery right now. -

I realize there is disappointment and impatience for staff-ophiles in that they still have to wait.
But what Paragon is doing is fully supporting a new powerset -- Beast Mastery. All the MM IOs are on sale as Attuned SBEs, Coyote travel power, German Shepherd vanity pet, recent sales of Animal pack and Barbarian pack, etc...
They got the doggie rigs out, now they're rolling out the kitty rigs.
And I hate to be a downer for you staffers... but the Panther Stealth travel power was on Beta, so, good chance that will be next week to round out the beastly stuff.
As far as I know, there were no rigs available on Beta for Tiger and Domestic Cat forms... so, at least that shouldn't hold off Staff. -

Yes, there were hints months ago, but this month brings the evidence to the tipping point... at least, the tipping point *for me.* The hints months ago were the same hints years ago which were plain misread and never came about, like the speculation that came about when Positron was moved to 'some other project.' -

Well... there is precedent....
The Joker. The Jester 'class' of Gauntlet. The Drunken Master of 1v1 martial arts video games. Kender. Disney's Aladdin's Genie. Mr. Mxylupagus (not bothering to look it up). Impossible Man.
Not to mention how many 'supers' have circus/carnie backgrounds to account for their strength or agility or side-show freakishness.
Bizarre, comic-relief, side show: Not alien to the genre. -

I found this bug really quickly. I'm expecting to see it again as I go through stories instead of just running task forces for badges.
It is not known for either to be widespread, but rather, confined to a particular NPC or faction. If it were widespread, there'd be a lot more reports of such a thing. I wouldn't worry. -
