My first will be an Ice/Time Controller, because sometimes I just want to take it easy.

Quote:The new Light Form will carry over into Nova and Dwarf, won't it? I don't use them, but I read something about that. If so, would you have to revert to Human to reactivate it?The builds I've worked out still retain squid/dwarf. Both are mules for IO sets, but both could still be used. These builds are to have permalight form and good defense in human form but still retain the forms for those that like to transform so one could transform to dwarf mode if the mezzing gets too severe. Yes they will need to reactivate certain defense powers after reverting to human but they should hopefully be in a safe spot to do so.
Quote:Also I have worked out the second build where one can be perma lightform without hasten. S/F defense drops to 44% and Melee defense to 37%, other defenses will be lower then those of course. Also those defense numbers are WITHOUT the Gladiator armor 3% def proc installed, so if one can afford that they can boost their defense a bit. -
Of course Clarion would help, but Light Form covers the same mez types as Unyielding, Integration and Practiced Brawler, just at lower magnitude. The Defense of Barrier isn't that useful after for the first 30 seconds.

Quote:Hardly a waste. The permanent form of Rebirth with +Regen would complement a Resistance-based Peacebringer and benefit a team, which is not an unusual idea considering they can take Glowing Touch already. Technically, a perma-Light PB doesn't need any of those Destinies much, so you can choose by concept or personal preference. If you have enough recharge for Perma Light Form, Reform Essence/Essence Boost should be up more often than you need them anyways... That's not even taking the Dwarf heal into account if you have forms. Seems like an awful waste to use Rebirth as your primary destiny power. Barrier and Clarion are far more useful.
-
I agree with Rebirth if you're going perma-Light. Clarion is a good option otherwise.
-
Not until third or fourth tier Clarion. <.<

Preferring pie does not imply that something is wrong with cake. I don't see your point.

What does it take to read things that aren't there? If your question is "what do you dislike about the changes", then my answer is "nothing". Is that clear enough for you?
-
Quote:Nothing that you quoted says that I don't like the changes, and I certainly don't see any hostility. You seem to have very strong feelings regarding the subject, but are apparently unwilling to elaborate on the particulars of why you do not like the changes. If I may be so bold, may I suggest now is the time to try?
I can certainly understand that some playstyles are not for others, but I don't see the reason for the hostility you're showing on this thread towards those that look forward to doing what warshades have been able to do for a long time. Please don't tell me you're just one of those, "I liked it before it got better" types? That would be disappointing. -

And I disagree. I'll say it one more time to be sure: I have no problem with it. Nevertheless, it may not be for everyone, and I would hate to see a lot of cookie-cutter Peacebringers.
-
You seem to be the type of person that prompted me to post in this thread. I'm sorry if you were unable to build a viable Peacebringer without perma-Light, but it's really not the only way.
-
Quote:Why do you insist that there's a problem? I like what I'm currently doing better. My survivability is fine, thank you.If your playstyle is contingent upon having rare survivability (and a crash to boot,) and insubstantial damage output I could see the changes interfering. Otherwise, I am stumped. If you could post up the build you were using, I'm really sure that the problems could be identified. Changes happen, and in this case they're certainly needed. You'll find that modifying your approach will ultimately do nothing but better your character's performance.
-
Quote:Like I said, I have nothing against perma-Light, and didn't say anything about its performance. It just didn't suit my playstyle, and it might be a mistake for everyone to think it will be the only way to go. Judging by early conversations during Beta, though, I seem to be in the minority who's been enjoying my Peacebringers for years.Maybe the issues are more with your build than the changes made. There is literally no negative impact that the last changes could have on player performance aside from not being able to move for a couple of seconds.
Also, I'm sure it makes a much bigger difference to people who use Nova. <.< -
The second question should be: is it worth it? People seem to think so, but after playing a perma-Light, I found that I preferred my current build on Live. I'm not saying anything against it, just that sometimes it might look better on paper.

Quote:Aneko, Cool builds. Very interesting indeed, pretty neat to see a build softcapped to s/l and ranged. I would do a couple things differently, but its a very interesting proof of concept build.
The second one I like a lot more, mainly because you've taken Hasten, have Fortitude slotted for defense and a decent chunk more recharge without the build becoming way more expensive. Very solid build.Quote:This build has merit, but the recharge makes me die a little inside. That said, softcapped S/L/E and ranged is impressive in and of it's own right. Nice job. -
-
My only concern, like someone else already mentioned, is more people loitering around trainers. We'll see how it goes.
-
Quote:Since I know some people think S/L + Ranged is overkill, try this:I would probably go with the Membranes and see about increasing overall global recharge. That's just me though.

I've only ever slotted one PvP IO (and no purples), and that one was given to me. I think I do well enough without them.
-
Quote:Replacing the Recharges in Fortitude with Membranes would give 6% more Defense at a cost of two seconds of recharge. If you continue to play around with it, might see if it's possible to slot fortitude for defense a little. As I said, the build has it's own merit, these are just the things I would personally shoot for if I were given this build and told to change as little as possible but make it "better".
