  1. I've done roleplay missions, the problem being, that they get very lengthy, there's almost always someone who gets hurt in a major way. Not everyone finds that style pleasing. I for instance, do not.

If someone can guarantee me an angst-free RP mission, I'm well up for trying it.

However, Shadow's Grace, my main, is semi retired, and will not partake.
My other characters... well, it depends. Mindblank wouldn't go on a mission if her fiance Alex Reed isn't there.

My empath, Stargazer, is the most likely candidate to do well in a rp mission. She's very down to earth, practical and doesn't make too much of a secret of who she is behind the mask.

I can be found on @Aisla.
  2. Well, if it is held in Manchester, there's Niall and me, and Paul and Jen. Also, there is Inny and plenty of others. No problems there then. :-)

Shame some won't be able to make it, but the problem is, with such a wide-spread (goegraphically) variety of people, it'll always be difficult to set a date when everyone can attend.
  3. You can PM the man himself to ask him to move it. :-)

Just ask him to remove this thread, and move the one from General Discussions, in its entirity to here. :-)

You *both* look great in the photos I've seen. Neither of you have anything to complain about.

    [/ QUOTE ]

*Hands Max a shovel* Look, we're women, and not super-models, -ofcourse- we're going to complain about our pictures.
  5. Oh dear god... please, remove those of me... They're horrible!!! *Dies of shame*
  6. [ QUOTE ]
    Aye, I really had fun.
Nice to finally meet some of you guys and girls.
And the *special guest* did tast rather good.

And of course we can't disclaim who the *special guest* is. Well, I could... The special guest was indeed: Nah, I won't tell you! But well...

    [/ QUOTE ]

You'd be the next on the menu...
  7. Right, back from a weekend of Comic-ness and CoH-ness.

It was fun, though I did not succeed in attaining what I was looking for.

Dinner and drinkage was fun, and I would like to thank everyone who was there for attending, and making it such a good time. :-)
  8. Huh? What? Someone mentioned my name? What? Roleplay?

    Oh, yes. *Waves* Welcome.

As stated, there is GG, but, don't forget, there is such a thing as random rp missions/teams, and other, less obvious places. The thing with a place as GG, you must understand, though, is such a well-known place, that it also attracts a lot of people new to roleplay, and if you are not interested in that, then looking for a different venue might be prefered.

    We're all going to DIE!!!!!!!!!!

Only two things in life are certain; Death and taxes.

This time, I suggest we get a couple of the others to force us into one another so we can actually exchange words .

    [/ QUOTE ]

Right, Weasel, it's your mission, should you accept it, to lure Stase into the bar on Friday night (or Saurday, depending on when you guys arrive and how you feel), to allow for Zortel to capture and hug her. After which we shall all have beer (or ale, wine, cider etc etc)!

I guarantee you will get Stasis back, unharmed, just hugged a lot.
  11. [ QUOTE ]
I myself am a bit iffy about one or two people. Aisla was one of them until I actually talked to her but she's actually very nice and I'm not sure why I didn't talk to her before. Maybe it's the "veterans" thing...

    [/ QUOTE ]

Meh, I am an odd ball, and am more then willing to accept that. I also am very straightforward and hardly -ever- dance around something or ignore it, if I do, it'll just end up with me feeling miserable, which has its affects on people I love. To prevent this from escalating, I confront people, head-first. Admittedly, not always the best practice, as I have learned that that approach is often misunderstood by people from the UK.

I think it's a cultural thing, as it keeps popping up, combined with the fact I am a rather passionate person to begin with and you can quickly get the wrong picture of me.

The reason I do not alter this, is that it would mean that I am no longer who I am, and those who are open enough to get to know the person beneath the exterior, are worth my friendship in my eyes, making me (I hope) a good, faithful, loving friend.

    Hope that makes sense. :-)

It's Aisla, and it's a name she's used since she started larping. It's nordic. Can't remember what it means.

It's the name of one of the daughters of Freya, goddess of beauty. (IIRC)

A repressed self-persecution complex perhaps? Maybe some slight megalomania?

Or maybe you're just soooo fed up with not being able to do anything about annoying people, that you want that level of control back in your gaming life?

"My server, my rules, you arguing? Bye bye!" /kick+ban

    [/ QUOTE ]

A bit of all of the above, really. ;-) But at least we're honest about it.
  13. You ask for a new chance, without granting one yourself? Bit hypocritical. And respect is not given first, then returned, it is earned and then returned.

I admit I put you on my ignore list, the reason being that the conversation needed to calm down before anything broken could be restored. I can however, take you off it, if you wish to discuss this further with me in private, without resorting to comments that in a very denegrating manner start with; Uhhh, well excuse me but...

You will probably find that on closer aquaintance, I am not as bad as you would have me appear, though perhaps you might not wish to. You seem to have made your opinion about me up, as, I will admit, I had about you to some extent.
However, being who I am, I hate fights and friction, and will always try and resolve something rather than walk away from it.

Seeing as we both go to GG, I prefer not having my evening ruined by seeing someone I do not get on with, as I am sure others would agree with me on.

Last but certainly not least, apologies accepted on the fact that I called you on getting me involved personally. It did however strike me as Quilla explained it, which I admit may be due to our previous conversations, where you yourself on many occasion insulted me yourself, might I add. So don't be the pot and call the kettle black. I only bite when provoked, and you did quite a bit of that.

There you have it, my view point. I shall unblock you and we can further this conversation in private, to the benefit of Bridger and the forumites.
  14. Okay, so you have decided to take it out into the open on a public forum... fair enough, in that case, let me enlighten you. I know others have put in their two cents, but seeing as I got mentioned by name, I find it only fair that I tell you, again, but this time for all to see, what I think of your creation, and the fact that you paint it off so one-sided.

    [ QUOTE ]
O.K... a lot of you will be aware of the recent cuffufle experienced with one of my RP characters... Although I don't think it fair... people didn't like his character because he was called "Luthoriun Cantactuu, The Creator of Suns" had anyone gotten to know him they'd have found it was just a title.

    [/ QUOTE ]

People didn't like your character, because he was rude, obnoxious, and 'decided' what was going to happen to other peoples characters as and how he came across their issues. That, mate, is called godmodding, deciding for other people what is going to happen to their character. It's the attitude, and what you as a player decide to portray of your character that makes people form an opinion, not a name.

    [ QUOTE ]
Also a lot of people found that fact Luthor got shot in the head only to rise a second later saying that it was no big deal a big deal, the characters I was playing with at the time happened to know nothing would happen... Only I get abuse from about 5 people telling me that I should stop godmodding. At first I took this with a pinch of salt... but I am gettin sick of people tellin me how to play and what my characters should be like before even getting to know them. Luthor was an interesting character who I enjoyed playing but I killed him for the sake of keeping lines of diplomacy open, regardless of this I ask you to please get to know my character (In your character) before calling him Scitzo, a bull**** and stuff like that, it's called respect for your fellow RPer, something I have (Since i became a member of the GG club), found hard to come across from some of the people who have been there for longer then I have...

    [/ QUOTE ]

If so many people, independantly of eachother, tell you you are godmodding, does it not turn on a light in your head saying 'Hey, wait a minute, if so many people think it's wrong, perhaps there is something wrong here'?
Not only did you tell people off for getting involved, your character expects another hero not to arrest someone who just shot someone else in the head??

We've had this done before. Doctor Temporis got shot in the head a fair few months ago, before your arrival at GG, by a robot. The robot got dismantled, as I understood, and Doc was dead. Yes, he came back, but about a month later, and only because the GoD found out how to bring him back. He didn't just stand up and go ' Oh, nothing's the matter, I am here, all is well'.

As for respect... it's something that isn't easily given, it is earned. And you, have done nothing that I have seen so far, that earns you anything but disdain. From spamming your powers, to being rude as a player, to godmodding.

    [ QUOTE ]
Now I expect you will object to this statement... perhaps even say "it's my problem" or "we have had this discussion before" but in truth no we havn't it ended up with me being silenced in GGOOC without the problem being resolved and with me apologising because I didn't mean to cause trouble... I get that you guys have a system, but I would like to be able to RP without having my neck bitten off or being told to move away when I am doing my thing.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Okay, this little guilt trip of yours needs to be sent back into the world of fables, so please, let me shed some light...
The discussion was being had, but you decided you had enough of it. I had said I would take my leave from GGOOC after my confrontation, and was finishing the discussion with Neko (with whom I now resolved it), as she was sticking up for you. You yourself, came out with the following statement whilst I was discussing it with Neko; So, uhm, Aisla, are you actually going to leave now or are you just trying to get sympathy?
-That- is what got you silenced, and to my knowledge, you never apologised for it.
You apologised two night ago, yes, but not because you wanted to, I got the impression you only did so because even your friends asked you to stop.

We do not have a system, we use common sense. I have pointed out on the GG thread as well, that, as Wonka also pointed out here, that we have had characters like yours around, Brute force being one of them. We just do not like godmodders, people whos characters can solve everything, are all powerful etc etc. Yes, the temptation may be there for some, but really, any true roleplayer will tell you, that power becomes very boring after a while. I have roleplayed for 10 years now, in larp, tabletop, online and in mmorpg's. I have had powers with some charcters, that could destroy someone with their little finger. You know what I ended up doing? I retired the character, of my own devise.

It's boring for those around you as well, because hey, why should they even try, if there's someone who will solve it all...?

    [ QUOTE ]
As far as I am concerned Luthor is dead and I will return to being Rick, nice and boring with no memory of Luthor or whatever, but I just thought I'd bring my feelings to your attention, and if you don't like what I have said feel free to tell me here, or don't bother and talk to me online... just please have a bit of respect for me and I shall you, I have my friends in the RP community, if you do not wish to be one of them that is your perogative, just don't act on it or talk behind my back, as I heard from Ailsa, most of you are adults, act like it and talk to me.

    [/ QUOTE ]

We have, Zealot, on numerous occasions, ranging from nice when you just arrived, to harshly as I have done recently. I do not deny it, I have no reason to. I am not ashamed of defending something I care about, GG meets. I enjoy them, and so do those I call friends in this game. If I see that being ruined, I speak up. Maybe that's because I am Dutch, and in our culture it is taught to address matters as they come up, confront them with openness and honesty.

Thanks for pulling me into this, btw, great job of trying to betray me in front of my friends.
  15. The Manchester GG lot (i.e. Wordy, Birdy, Jennybear, Gideon and myself) will arrive late on the Friday. Anyone for drinks on the Friday night? ;-)

Look for a 5ft 2 inch bloke with long black in a ponytail and the 6ft something woman at his side. (I am told it is rather a humorous sight )

Fixed for correctness, and cause I'm a horrid little worm!

Oh, and long black what in a ponytail? Penguin?

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Hair... you goit.
It's now long enough to have a very nice, long ponytail, I am jealous of his hair... let me be jealous, damn it!

Also, he's 5ft9, thank you very much, I was wearing heals.
  17. Nope, no scripting whatsever, it's spontanious interaction, like you say, it's a bit like a play, but done by actors who improvise on the spot. :-)

Looking forward to meeting, as you say, people to put a face to a forum handle, though I admit, at Brighton, I already had the pleasure of meeting some of you lot, yet more seem to be turning up for Bristol. Good stuff. :-)

As for recognisableness... Well, Ravenswing and I are usually easily recognisable, by the following; Look for a bloke with long black in a ponytail and the 6ft something woman at his side. (I am told it is rather a humorous sight )

    Nerds.
  21. Good thing I booked for a person or two extra, just in case then? ;-)

Hun, we're Dutch, we feel ripped off by default.

Anyway, people, we have a reservation now for 18 people on Saturday at 18.30. :-)
  24. We were talking about the dinner, though, Edge. ;-)

    Saturday night, somewhere in Bristol...
