  1. Thanks. In kinda related news. I'm proud to say tonight I finally got enough Vanguard Merits to buy myself some Talsorian Claws.

Special thanks to WP and Alouette for introducing me to the Talsorian costume set.
  2. Thanks for the feedback all! I'm terribly embarrassed to say I did miss on one...little...element. It's tiny. Not a big deal really, but WP informed me that "Allouette" only has one "L".

    Ahhhhhhhhh!

So, I'll be fixing that this evening. (bad artist)

When WP and I were concepting the piece it really occured to me how badly the CoX tailors need to add a quiver as a costume part. Options could include a quiver on the back...one on your hip...and it would be totally bad !#$ to see a set of gloves with a rack of arrows attached to the forearms.
  3. I finally finished up a new piece for War Patriot. This time, it's his character "Allouette". I really liked the costume colors on her and that dang Talsorian Bow is just too @!#$% cool.

    Allouette - Locked On

There's a little story hidden in the image if you look hard enough. Suddenly hoping the current posted low res image is high enough to read the story elements....ugh.

Comments welcome, and thanks again to War Patriot for letting me work on such a cool character.

  4. Super congrats sir! You definately deserved it. I hope it all works out well. I could have never done "Infinite Dark" without your tool.

I always say, "Put your best stuff on your resume or in your portfolio, whether you feel it was 'official' or not."

    Gratz!

  5. Very nice man! Awesome stuff...I actually have that Houdini poster hanging up here in the house

    (I've got a magic-ish history).

    He looks sweet!

Totally awesome! Makes me wanna buy one, and set it on my shelf, with my other miscellaneous stuffs!

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thanks! Oh what I wouldn't do to have a 3d output device so I could actually set these things on shelves.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You may want to look into 3D printing. I know of a couple of people on CGTalk who had their Zbrush stuff printed, but it sounds expensive. I heard Ownage is affordable compared to some of the other ones, and their pricing starts at $299 for an 8-inch model.

Thanks. I bookmarked their site for future reference. I'm afraid for me, as things currently are that's still a ways out of my person budget. But I'm holding on to it for when things turn around. And I'll be sure offer it up as an option for those who may be interested...and have the funds .

    Thanks for the info.

Very fierce and terrifying! Not delicious or sweet looking at all....nope nope nope

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hehehe, Steve described him as more "grumpy/Thing" than "fierce/Wolverine". I hope he doesn't come across as TOO mean.

  9. Alrighty! So here is Stever's ChocolateBunnyGuy is all mini-fig and chocolate glory.
    ChocolateBunnyGuy - mini-fig

This is the first mini-fig I've created in zBrush then handled all the lighting and rendering in Maya which was a bit of an experience, but not too bad.

Comments are welcome...just don't say "He looks sweet.", or he will jump out of the picture and destroy you.

    Thanks,
    Todd
  10. I would throw out my thoughts on the hollow/solid thing, but somehow I think I'm missing some deep disturbed hidden meaning here
  11. Ok, here's the character strip for ChocolateBunnyGuy. He's been a blast to work on...and yet suddenly I have a craving for milk chocolate.
    ChocolateBunnyGuy - Character Strip

    Final illustration still to come.

    Thanks,
    Todd
  12. Awesome shirt! And thanks for all the comments. He's a great character to work on.

Almost done here, I'll post a final image tonight or tomorrow.

    Thanks,

    *ahem*

    Hey man! Welcome back!!!

Uh...I'm glad the IRS donated a card for ya...but I hope you put some of that aside for fabric material. You know how she runs through those costumes

    Welcome back.

  14. So, you've seen the mini-figs in plastic, bronze, copper, and pewter...how about milk chocolate?

Here's a work in progress of Stever's character ChocolateBunnyGuy. VERY unique guy. He's still got some more detailing to do, and then to pose him...but he's coming along nicely. I had to post....cause I love the custom base.

  15. Just PM'd you. I've got a few slots open still.

    Todd
  16. Wow. Thank you guys for all the support, advice, and references .

With any luck I'll be able to get this thing running and keep it going for a good long while. Now if only I could find a cure for this darn annoying 'sleep' thing I'd be set.

Thanks again all...I'm flattered by the responses.
    Todd
  17. I've been unofficially doing it for a while now, but I wanted to "for the record" announce that I'm opening the doors to ToddWorld Studio.

And with that, a small (at the moment) 5 slot cue...with 4 slots left open.

Check my DA site for more info.

Thanks all. *fingers are crossed that this is a good idea*

  18. ...what frozen said.

If you let ZBrush lay out the UV's it's not going to be anything you can edit later in Photoshop. But using a odd little process you can either import the UV's (that you laid out in another program), or export the ZBrush low sub div model, import into 3d Studio or Maya..etc, lay out the UV's there...they finally import back into ZBrush.

It's not exactly a straight forward process, but it's not too bad once you've gotten the hang of it.

Other painting programs you might want to try are Body Paint 3d...or even Photoshop CS4 (if you're lucky enough to have access to that).

As far as programs just for laying out UV's...I'd suggest taking a look at "Roadkill". It's pretty awesome.

    Thanks,
    Todd
  19. Very Nice! She's definately turning out nicely.

    Todd
  20. LOL that is awesome!

    Thanks for the link,

  21. Nice stuff man. I like the style and wonderful attention to color palette.

These are always win. Cool! How come none of my Legos ever had superpowers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Oh come oooon....don't you know ALL Lego's have superpowers. I've seen plenty of Legos with the following powers:

    - fly (across the room at your little brother)
    - morph (from one object into and entirely different object)
    ...and my favorite

    - invisibility, or teleport it's hard to tell which (when the disappear from the rest of the Legos and appear under the cushion of the nearest couch.)

Thanks for all the comments all. The Lego guys are always fun to work on.

  23. Here's Hericane's character....Hericane all Legofied. I had quite a few 'misses' on the environment, but I think I finally ended up with something that worked.

    Lego Hericane

    Enjoy.

  24. Very nice sir! I like the tone.
