Is the portrait for the web? Or did you want to print it? What size if so? And were you looking for a particular style? A Likeness of say yourself or a celeb, or someone you know, fancy? Any background you wanted to add, or is anything goth-ish acceptable?

I myself like art. I think it's an important talent for one to have. Because no two art styles are completely identical, it has a good way of reflecting an artist's personality and personal beliefs.

Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I kinda figured some other artists who could get it done a little faster than I could might have already contacted you (as much as I love goth-y stuff, I'm not free until about May!). Hard to know if you're getting PMs.
And also, speaking for myself, I feel weird about going straight to people and saying "Pick me!!" Dunno... makes me feel pushy or something =(

Heh, good to know another artist has the same take on it. Its soooo hard to want to do all these awesome characters and take orders when someone is asking when you have a bunch of stuff already. Being VERY careful about the amount of work in queue is the sign of a responsible artist.

I don't think it's that the artists don't want to make any money (particularly in these hard economic times!), but more so what Wassy pointed out...some of the artists likely have full queues and/or feel awkward approaching the customer (I haven't commissioned any artwork myself, but I'd suspect that the commission process typically works the other way around).
If you're not getting any bites in this thread or via PM, I think the best suggestion I could make is to visit TA's List of Commissionable Artists in his signature. You'll find a huge array of artists that you can commission along work samples and from there, you can pick what artists have the specific art style that you're looking for and inquire on pricing and if they're accepting commissions.

I'd love to make some money, but I also don't want to beg for it.
That aside, I had planned on doing your piece from the get go... for free. Mostly because she is really a simple thing to draw, I could do it in less than 3 hours, maybe 2... but my problem was that I did have something else I was working on in secret for the past week, which I can't post until tomorrow because it is a surprise.
And the other thing is being in the mood... I tried to do it last night, but something else on my plate got there first. Creatively speaking. Today is also a very very busy day, but when and if the muse hits me, I will send you whatever pops up (gees that sounded dirty)...
Do you mind if I use blood drips? I have some great brushes for that... or I could do the misty night glow of the grave look behind her? Tootles!

I was on course since Monday, so I haven't been around. I did hear the plaintive cry of someone in need of my art skills, though and hurried over here.

LJ, take your creativity out on the piece. After all, if you're doing it out of the kindness of your own heart, feel free to use your imagination

After looking thru some of y'all people's sites and galleries, it makes me wish I could draw ... I have sketch pads and pencils and all that stuff, but every time I try to draw one of my toons, it looks like a 3-year old did it ...
