Thanks! And you, my friend, are awesome! When I grown up I want to be JUST like you. -
[ QUOTE ]
All the devs really did was slow down enough that people still think they stand a chance, when in fact almost every fight now is decided by sets and numbers per side before the first attack is ever thrown.
[/ QUOTE ]
So if the devs slow it down further - with 'nerfs' - you'd hate it even more right? -
[ QUOTE ]
Weak? Your entire counter argument is because you couldn't keep up, it had to be slowed down. That's like saying the NBA should ban people taller than 6ft because you aren't tall enough.
[/ QUOTE ]
Who said I couldnt keep up? Have u even read my posts? I even kept them short for you.
Anywayz, the snoring pace of pvp works despite what side you of victory u emerge. In other words, for me to kill in a few secs/hits is NOT fun. That is maybe unless u have low esteem and these weaksauce kills make u feel better abt yourself. -
[ QUOTE ]
Tell me this, in fact tell all of us, how has Suppression, DR, Heal Decay, Mez Resistance, removal of -Max Run Speed and overpowered NPCs helped to make PvP viable and fun for all ATs?
[/ QUOTE ]
3 posts in a row just to ask this? How weak considering its already been answered. And ironically by one of those fluffy pad posts of yours: Simple, to slow it down. -

FAST PVP HURTS MY EYES!!!! ZOMG MY EYES!!!!!!!!!
[/ QUOTE ]
No, it just sucks.
Another analogy if you will - hopefully more to your liking than billiards:
A quick MMA fight is what? Boooooooooring. Why? Because it's a definite sign of an imbalance. A balanced fight = longer fight = more entertaining fight. -
[ QUOTE ]
I14 is a step in the overhaul of the pvp system. Its not perfect by any means. But are more AT's in RV on freedom at least then the FOTM stalker or perma doms. If you disagree then you haven't played.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yup yup. -
[ QUOTE ]
Yes, the MMO with the fastest movement in the industry certainly was like a half-sized pool table compared to the full-sized tables of other games.
[/ QUOTE ]
So fast means better right? Or more hardcore? Answer: No. In fact, its a huge source of the original problem. -
[ QUOTE ]
A more apt analogy (that still is relevant to your pool example) would be if the store owners decided to replace the standard pool tables with half-size ones, or with bumper pool tables. The people who got good at playing pool on a regulation table are upset, and rightly so, because now everything that was fun for them got torn away. Meanwhile, the people that never bothered to try hard to get good at playing pool on a full-size table are overjoyed because now they don't have to try and they can look good.
[/ QUOTE ]
Actually you have that analogy backwards. (*See my prev post abt where you went wrong) Its more like you got used to playing on the half size tables and are now upset that they took them away for full sized ones. CoX PvP was awful. Period. And certainly not up to standard w/other MMOs (ie standard pool tables). -
Excellent analogy bud.
And the issue now is, as the devs gradually work on improving PvP (as they have), to get all those casual players (who were put off by the DRASTICALLY broken PvP) back and give it a 2nd try. -
[ QUOTE ]
Dynamic team roles may have been awesome in arena pvp, particularly amongst the test arena scene. But to the average pvpers (like me) or the people who don't pvp, test arena pvp was an elite clique that would take huge ammounts of effort to get anywhere near. The rest of the pvp was the occasional random arena match or zone pvp where most of these 'dynamic team roles' were more often than not badly crippled by the inherent lack or organization in these areas.
Having never been in that elite pvp group I can't say if it was great, but the fact that they mostly left speaks volumes. However, that small elite group was the only part of the player base that could truly appreciate the high end pvp content in the game. The pvp system really was quite flawed when looked at from the context of the more low end pvp, which a larger majority of the pvp community would be in if there actually was a large pvp community, or at least the devs thought so, and I would agree.
[/ QUOTE ]
This.
And the 'hardcore' pvpers may be surprised to hear that this is probably the majorty's concensus, and thus, who the devs are listening to. -
To those that desperately want PvP 'fixed' ask yourself a question:
Did u love PvP before i13? Is the answer is yes, then thats your problem. -
[ QUOTE ]
You've missed mine frequently. I'd say at the least in that regard, we're even.
[/ QUOTE ]Im sorry, do I know you? Oh nevermind, Im sure I wont remember you after this post....
Anyway, lemme try and explain...
Me: "Your faction..."
MrSensitive: "HEY! Im not part of this faction! I was just visiting!"
Me: "Your alignment..."
MrSensitive: "HEY! Im not part of this alignment! I was just visiting!"
Me: "You guys..."
MrSensitive: "HEY! Im not with these guys! I was just visiting!"
Me: "You villains..."
MrSensitive: "HEY! Im not a villain! Im just a disgruntled hero!"
So basically, its all the same to me - and its definitely all sensitive. You say its not polite because people will be offended. I say people shouldnt be so easily offended because its not an insult. Thicker skin please. -
[ QUOTE ]
Thanks for answering your own question with a baseless assumption.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hmmm....Maybe if i can figure out what I was assuming I'll remember what it was that I was asking.
Btw, I think u missed my point. -
[ QUOTE ]
It's technically not polite, in that what if the person isn't exclusively one or the other, or is the other, and is just visiting on that side? Some people are really sensitive about that kind of thing
[/ QUOTE ]
Im still not gettin why it's 'technically not polite'. Well at least not any more that the general & common 'you guys' grouping. But that fits with alignment and ANY form of 'group' ie villain. Silly.
Sorry i dont live my life walkin on glass for those with skin that thin. -
[ QUOTE ]
And even if used properly, it's still not exactly the best (or most polite) term.
[/ QUOTE ]
Umm...what? Why would it not be polite?
I sometimes use faction to describe the group the mob belongs to, ie Hallions, Rikti, etc. (Sometimes I use sect) But if someone wants to use it to describe hero/villain, go for it. -
Great, another person eagerly trying to correct others over the internet abt something so minor...with the name GuyPerfect no less! HA! Guess it could have been predicted.
-
[ QUOTE ]
Honestly, I think this expansion may finally add some depth to this game that has been needed for years.
[/ QUOTE ]
This. -
No. Well, at least the way YOU want it fixed.
I think the prob is that you didnt think it was awful before - but it was. I knew many hardcore pvpers that bounced from MMO to MMO strictly for the PvP aspect that would vouch for the fact that it was one of CoX's weakest links. It prolly still is but it is improved.
I say to the devs - keep working on it. -
[ QUOTE ]
A thing that many people haven't brought up is the fact that characters may be starting over at level 1 if they change sides. The devs haven't said either way. I know that may come as a big shock to people, but it would definitely extend game play. [u]Become a villain and end up level 1 in Break Out with nothing, now that would really be the kick in the pants, eh?[u]
[/ QUOTE ]
Be paranoid abt it if u want. But what u described is not happening. Period. -
[ QUOTE ]
People will prefer Tankers to Brutes.
[/ QUOTE ]
Ummm....what? -
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ]
Good, maybe now all the demons, "T3h 3vil D00dz", and emo red and black-colored heroes will GTFO and go to the Rogue Isles where they belong.
[/ QUOTE ]
If they are 'heroes', why would they 'belong' in the Rogue Isles? Surely, the whole point of being 'hero' or 'villain' is defined by what you do, rather than where you are?
[/ QUOTE ]
He's complaining abt those that make villainous looking heroes. Unfortunately he overlooks the possibility that they may just be replaced with villainous lookin VILLAINS who now can be in the Rogue Isles. :P -
[ QUOTE ]
Actually, it makes perfect sense to me. A redeemed villain would need to prove him/herself to the populace (normal & metahuman) that they really are the hero they're claiming to be. Likewise the hero now in the Rogue Isles has a lot of distrust among the perps he used to smack around--on top of which, he needs to earn his bones. I won't say that I like it, per se...but I will say that it makes sense.
[/ QUOTE ]
I didnt say it couldnt be somehow rationalized, I said it would make the moral compass idea pointless and that is a generally bad idea. You seem to agree that its a bad idea, and considering how Posi said you could bounce back and forth, having to sway your moral compass just to start over and over again and RELEARN your powers seems rather redundant. At that point I wouldnt call it side switching, but rather some variation of AT proliferation.
Still, thats not happening. -
[ QUOTE ]
In the survey it was mentioned about 10 unlockable Enhancement Slots that if all are unlocked make a 50 a virtual 60.
Why not just add new End-Game Content and up the Level Cap?
[/ QUOTE ]
Ugh. No. No. And umm.....thats right, no.
(I'll let some one else bother to copy and paste that answer for ya.) -
[ QUOTE ]
Someone please tell me this game isn't going to implode? Redname? Is this a "access to everything" side switch, or a "pseudo-side switch"?
[/ QUOTE ]
An "access to everything" side switch.
