I bow before the awesomeness of Steelclaw.
Once I get my breath back from laughing ^^ kehehe -
Quote:I note the use of 'Had'.No no, assault rifle users had an alternate brawl animation that used smacking enemies with the butt of the rifle long before there were VEATs.
If that was cut...
Then I want to know Why.
No, sorry, too short;
WHYgodsdamnitwhatsortofmoronmadethatcall?!
Sheesh... -
Quote:Not trying to bump this thread, but God Lord it happened to me yet again.
This week I learned that not only were the destructable objects tinkered with so they had to be reset but one of the objects I had selected was no longer available. This just happened to be in the same arc as the Crey Hero map they pulled and have never replaced. So once again in the same arc I have to change things around that don't really fit my story because of a dev decision and once again there were no patch notes letting us know about it.
Great job. I'm so glad I did not fork over the money for more slots. I'd be better off just making farming missions. No plot, just a big outdoor map full of Rikri communication officers and hamis.
Stealth edits are so ungodly horrible.
Crey Cloning Map, Mobile Generators. Both things I was using, BOTH got removed with no warning.
Really, REALLY annoying... -

Quote:I don't think you mean Irony, GG. I may well be wrong though XDI think it'd be a good idea to perhaps not make jokes about French and Germans - if English isn't their native language, then they might not be able to tell if something is sarcastic or ironic.
A few jokes between the American and British players about each other is fine, as long as it's kept friendly, so no one is offended.
There's no need to be aggressive towards each other on a game forum where we're supposed to be here for fun and enjoyment.
In all seriousness, I think its safe to assume everyone will have a 'go' at everyone on the forums ( to a joky and/or serious/stupid degree ). IRL, I mostly like the French and France, I feel sorry for the Germans being reminded of a not so proud legacy ever other freaking time.
Anyhow, past is the past, history is behind us, so lets just get on with the here and now, alrighty?
Sheesh...humans...

Ah, and I actaully though the OP was being serious....until I suddenly burst out laughing XD
Nicely done, Steel, a new humourmonger has been added to my radar.
And ANYONE who's watched Monty Python's Holy Grail should know about the French ;P -
I am Techbot Alpha.
I heavily, heartily approve of this thread.
Excuse me...think I just bust a gasket laughing at some of those XD -
I grin most profusely at the tags for this thread ^^

Quote:So?I think the distance of time is important - there are more people who have a direct connection to terrorism and extremism, like soldiers and their families, or people affected by 9/11 than there are people who still have a direct connection to WWII - although there's still a lot of WWII sensitivity around too.
You can use historical bad people as names, but not ones who have done things that are still affecting people today.
Bad stuff happens every day. To everyone.
You do just have to live with it and move on. And, when that sort of thing infects a virtual world, where people come for enjoyment, its gets annoying. Yes, some could argue that using names like that could affect other peoples enjoyment in said virtual reality, but no one ever pretends that a game is reality, right?
I just get tired when PC-ness and the 'potential' of offending people starts to infest things we do for enjoyment. -
Given you can turn the filter OFF in game, it makes rather a mockery of anything they could potentially do, ratings wise.
The ENFORCED filter on AE makes me nothing short of outright blooming furious, though.
Hostage: "Oh, thank ****, a Hero!"
...
Now, where reality steps in and busts some heads;
Hostage: "Oh, thank God, a Hero!"
Seriously, anyone playing with their filter still on, when you are over...what, fourteen? Is rather...silly. Yes. Silly.
I mean, for pity sake, you hear more offensive language on the STREETS. Every. Freaking. Day!
Come on, reality stop check please!
And yes, someone revamp the Forum, Game and AE filters, please oh lord. -
Quote:You are not supposed to be offensive.
This is a TEEN rated game, not Mature.
Since when's that ever stopped films and games?
Seriously, ratings are incredibly misleading.
Anyway, theres a difference between being personally and purposefully offensive, and something that MIGHT offend someone.
I mean, if everyone worried about MAYBE offending someone...well, I know I'd never say anything if I had to worry like that =P
Anyway, I do think this case is a tad OTT, on the Devs side. -
-
Ah, that reminds me of my spec ops blaster.
Running around the Hollows took on a whole new meaning of fun when I started booting Trolls into walls and off stuff, then filling them full of lead.
-wistful sigh-
Anyway;
OP, for the sake of making an arguement and so people can understand, learn to punctuate and paragraph.
And then maybe add in optional animations for brawl/kick in I16.
Problem solved. -
Tau team is one happy bunch of robots right about now.
Also, ooo, Dev post. Kind of, not at all used to that in any shape or form, given I'm used to the EU boards =P
Sweet. -
Quote:I'm not the only one. Someone went to the extreme of renaming Adolf Hitler into Dolph Schikelgruber, or some such.
It's overcompensation. Political correctness makes my teeth hurt.
Really, really don't mention the P-C words again. Not in aural range of me. Please. It makes my cranial circuits fritz. -
You lot say it your way, we'll say it our way.
Try and 'correct' anyone and you'll find out just how full of vitriol and bile the English language can be.
Alpha out. -
Quote:Wait, what?Yeah, I agree the restrictions are becoming a little extreme. I made a mission arc on the AE set in WW2 (actually, I've made a few), but found myself tapdancing because I wasn't allowed to use the word Nazi or even the name Hitler. It's hard to do a WW2 story that doesn't refer to them in some way.
It makes me wonder what will happen when I break out my CoV Mastermind that's a former Nazi (in his bio) himself?
Note that I don't RP him that way, it's just for the concept of the character.
Ok, that seriously puts any plans I had for an AE arc that revolves around the 5th Column and a WW2 veteran member of it (CoV, obviously)
Seriously, censoring blatant insults and generally offensive stuff is one thing, but this is going to get to the point where we censor EVERYTHING for fear of offending SOMEONE.
Come on, Devs, can we have some common sense, not blanket d00mhammering? -
/Signed
I remember the ones I've seen. Great work. -
Bah. Never had a purple drop in my existence. Here's me with high levelers with vanilla IO or SO builds.
They still do their jobs...and do them with Honour and Dignity!
=P -
Brawl customisation in I16?
One can hope.
As for the second half of the (slightly hazy) post, Evil will ALWAYS triumph over Good. Because Good simply isnt twisted and bitter enough to counter Evil plans -smirk-
In all seriousness, no. Good and Evil, game wise, are mostly equal. A Tank and Brute, for example: Tanker is as tough if not tougher than a Brute, and has little to no end problems. Brutes do more damage due to Fury, but most if not all suffer from endurance problems.
It evens out. -
Some are daft...some are priceless ^^
I particularly liked Mako's one, and Mynx. Very appropriate.
And I know how those shop attendants feel
-
What Prof Backfire and Thorny said. There is nothing bar observation in the OP. As in 'These were announced/hinted at, did they die out or not?'
And, seriously, if THIS is the most bileful thread title you've seen, then you've had an incredbily easy ride...
