Any additional questions I'd certainly be happy to answer.

You still haven't gotten back to us with the clarification to the statement you made which seems to contradict the statement Positron made. You said that, "Purchase of the MAC Version is necessary if you want to run on a MAC OS" but Positron said that one "can download the Mac client for free when it is released."

    So... what's the official word?
  2. It probably was purged. All the info that was in there is now in the Wiki.
  3. [u]Mission Door TPer Recharge is Too Long[u]

Ouroboros Portal; earnable in-game; level 25 minimum; connecting 5-6 zones; 5 minute recharge, can be shortened by global recharge.

Base Portal; 24 month Veteran Reward; level 3 minimum; theoretically connecting up to 24 zones; 30 minute recharge, can be shortened by global recharge.

Pocket D TPer; GvE purchasable; level 3 minimum; connecting 4-5 zones; 30 minute recharge can be shortened by global recharge.

Summon Teammates; earnable in-game level 20-25 Mayhem/Safeguard; tps teammates in zone to caster; lasts 24 hour in-game time; 5 minute recharge, can be shortened by global recharge.

Assemble the Team; 42 month Veteran Reward; level 1 minimum; TPs teammates in zone to caster; 30 minute recharge which can not be shortened by global recharge.

Mission Teleporter; Mac Edition purchasable; level ? minimum; TP directly to mission door; 120 minute recharge which (can or can not) be shortened by global recharge.

    ====

Clearly this new power is an outlier compared to similar powers. The other purchasable power, the Pocket D TPer can sometimes refresh in less than 15 minutes while this purchasable power, while more useful since it goes to your final destination, instead of a hub, is 120 minutes.

The Base Portal can be a hub to 24 zones and recharge in 15 minutes.

If the Mission Door TPer's recharge is reducible with global recharge, I could possible see letting it stand at 120 minutes, since so many players go for recharge. But it's much more fairer if it were on a 60 minute irreducible timer.

[u]Purchase of the MAC Version is necessary if you want to run on a MAC OS[u] but the download is obsolete if you already have the client installed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Really?!

All the talk during beta was that that if you have a game account, you have access to the PC and the Mac clients *without* buying the new Mac Edition.

    Is that now different?

If I don't buy the Mac Edition and get a Mac Computer for MLKjr Day (it could happen), will I be able to download the Mac Client onto the Mac and play, or will I have to first buy the Mac Edition in order to enable the client to play on the Mac?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I'll confirm tomorrow but I believe there is an Authentication process involved on the updater.

  6. Update: Corrected on the Villains' Map the level for Midnight Club from 20 to 30.

  8. LOL.

If you regard the standard To Hit formula as being elegant, with both an additive and a multiplicative to hit bonus (ToHit and Accuracy) but only an additive defense (Defense) and regard adding a multiplicative defense (Elusivity) into the formula as unbalancing, well, then there's nothing I can do respond to such illogic.

    [ QUOTE ]
SR is unhittable, Ninjutsu is still kind of weak, and squishies are way too hard to hit. But it can be fixed.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Better to put it back the way it was and fix the powersets. Its a much simpler task and will break fewer other things.

    [/ QUOTE ]

You realize Elusivity is a tool that can be used to 'fix powersets', right? Because it gives a finer control of balance between attack and defense, right? That additive Defense can become overpowering when stacked too much and so the only choice is to leave it weak so that the PvPers say 'loldefense', and multiplicative Elusivity can fix that, right?
  10. I created a flowchart of all the hero-accessible zones as a guide of how to get there from here. Blue boxes are unrestricted in level. Purple are level restricted hazard/trial zones. Red zones are PvP. Levels are included. Also, zones with a Base Beacon have a check box so that if your base has a telepad that goes to that zone, you can check it off as a shortcut.

Here is a quick 1 MB web view of Hero Zones.

Here is a 3 MB .pdf if you want a printout of Hero Zones.

    Edit: Adding Villain Zones!...

Here is a quick .8 MB view of Villain Zones

Here is a 7 MB .png graphic file of Villain Zones. It works really well in browsers that can zoom in easily on a graphic picture. And it's more detailed for printing (through Irfanview, or insert the graphic into Word and resize and print).

  11. I hate to be a spoilsport, since you did lots of work and it's a great concept, but the info at ParagonWiki is wrong. The I13 changes to bonuses has not been propogated to their tables.

See Stupid_Fanboy's guide for the actual numbers.
  12. The guide on IOs has this incorrect information:<ul type="square">

    ----&gt;Unique IOs.
In addition to enhancing a power and providing bonuses, some IO sets may have enhancements know to some as "unique enhancements". These don't enhance the power like any other kind of enhancements, but rather modify its effect and/or your character.

Things to note with Unique IOs:
--Unique IOs trigger via the power they are in.
--Unique IOs only trigger based on aspect of the power that they enhance.
--Effects pets in a different way then most other powers.
    Example:
    - Slotting an Achillies Chance for res debuff unique into Burst, this IO will proc(set off based on a % pre-programmed occurrence)Will run it's chance to occur based of if the -def ability is present. Since the -def is always present there is always a CHANCE that this procs. This unique effect will happen only with burst.
    - Certain powers run the chance to "proc" every 10 seconds instead of per use. These powers are typically things like toggles, long duration debuffs/buffs, and Rain powers. If you where to put a chance to stun proc in Lightning field(a toggle)it would run it's chance every ten seconds on every enemy, NOT when the orange dmg appears, that damage is not effected by the IO, as the IO effects endurance mod.
    - You slot a miracle +recovery unique into health. This IO's effect will be "permanently on", as the power health is constantly active, and the miracle has 100% proc.
    - You slot a chance for a LadyGrey chance for negative nrg dmg proc into Soldiers, from mercenaries. Any powers the soldiers have that do -Def will now also have this proc added to the power. It will not effect things like their grenades or the medics heal, as they don't have -def. Make sure to check out the powers of your pets to make sure they get a lot of use out of IOs before slotting them. This can be done by looking at the "power details" while selecting soldiers in the enh window.
-You slot a Sovereign right +res bonus into Commando. This power doesn't actually effect the commando directly, it grants YOU an aura that boosts your pets resistance. So ALL the pets nearby are now receiving +res.[/list]

First of all, we stopped calling Special IOs "unique IOs" when we realized they were not all unique. Luck of the Gambler 7.5% Recharge can be slotted many times over in the same build -- same with most damage procs.

Not all Special IOs "trigger via the power they are in." Some act like Set Bonuses in that they are always on, even if the power isn't activated and even if the power is greyed out due to exemplaring, such as those Special Pet IOs or Luck of the Gambler.

Proc does not mean 'pre-programmed occurrence', it's short for a 'special procedure'.

    Demagogue!!!

Make sure you don't have passive/auto power icons on hidden in your options menu.

And please ask future questions in Player Questions. This forum houses guides so they don't get purged (aged out). Thanks.
  15. The pre-I13 arena option Posi mentions was mentioned 6 weeks ago by Castle on the Closed Beta forum as something coming, but not in time for I13. I included it in every version of the I13 Highlights thread: Closed Beta's, Open Beta's and Live's versions...

    [ QUOTE ]
Castle says: "Since I'm talking about the Kiosk, I may as well mention it now. The "Old School" options for Arena won't make it into I13. That would be things like "No Travel Suppression". We're still planning on doing it, it just isn't going to be ready in time for I13.”

    [/ QUOTE ]

So, conspiracy theorists and grudgeophiliacs should ply their trade elsewhere. They planned on doing this as a concession to the Ladder match and 'hard core' arena players a long time ago and was not kept secret. Even though this change was announced as coming, the PvPers still behaved the way they did.

    Now who's zooming who?
  16. Merits Diminishing Rewards Update:

It's been said that arcs are not subject to DR, but what about Ouroboros Flashback arcs which operate in a pseudo-TF mode? Do they have DR because they're TF-like or not?

The answer is not. Merit Rewards from the arcs of the Ouroboros Flashback Crystals are not subjected to Diminishing Returns.

    Issue 13 Known Issues

    - Travel powers can no longer be toggled on or off while other powers are activated or queued. This was an unintended consequence of some other change and the Devs are working to revert this.

    [/ QUOTE ]

A note on this - it isn't having a power queued up that prevents the travel power from turning off, its being in the middle of an animation that prevents it. I found that out because i discovered that I could target something at range, queue up a melee attack and as long as I toggled sprint off before the melee attack started activating it would turn off without removing the melee attack from the queue.

Alternatively if you are firing off an power that has a long animation after the power takes effect simply hitting a hotkey to turn off sprint (or any other toggle) will not do anything until the animation finishes, even though the power is no longer appears to be in the 'activated state (i.e. the spinning circle around the power button may have stopped making it look as if you have finshed activating it but the animation hasn't finished yet).

    [/ QUOTE ]

Patch on Test has the fix to this!

  19. Fixed link to Wiki page on Leveling Pact. (Thanks Obsidius! This page out of order because it was an accidental page and I'm over writing it.)

Just a note: many of the Wiki pages haven't been updated yet for Live, so, be patient with them.
  20. This thread has quite a few broken links. And if anyone is up to it, a named-color chart for skin color is still needed.

Thanks to all those who contributed, especially Altoholic_Monkey!

Can we have music like in Samuraiko's trailer actually in the game?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. But you got to do it yourself. Use Splasher: From its FAQ -- It can also take a sound file and set it as the background music for the login screen, the Pocket D dance floor, or any of the BoomBox tunes. The sound file can be in MP1, MP2, MP3, MP4, M4A, AAC, OGG, WAV or WMA format.

If you have further questions about this, please go to the Player Questions Forum.

If you're suggesting to the Devs to put this kind of music or functionality into the game, please go to the Suggestions Forum.

Is there information about stopping your leveling so you don't pass by content?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Yep. I put it with the On Patrol 1.5xXP info which inspired the 'turn off XP gain' option. I'll go make it more specific (where to find the option) and highlight it a bit.
