Well, those little checkmarks all around the snake look like Nike symbols to me. Ingame advertising is a lock! DOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
Seriously, though, all I get from that is that it's likely we'll have a new faction to fight. Let's hope and pray that there are new tilesets to go with it, like the Rikti got. -
And it's from ATI! That's a great find Demon Soldier!
-
Princess of Paragon.... she looks familiar. Did she win an award or something? (No, not a pickup line, she really does look familiar..... though, if she's not doing anything after the hami raid.... )
-
Don't give me that invasion tripe, I know what's going on. The staff is busy doing MEAN things to poor Mr. Bubbles and making little girls cry!!

Tip from a Kansas City native:
When you get ribs, be sure to eat the bread that they sit on. It builds strong arteries! -

And sorry Zloth. If it makes you feel any better I did use your Demo Launcher. Always do

It does actually, thanks! (I'm in the middle of re-writing the thing.) -
Yow, one vote off! I knew I shoulda called my mother!
-
Meh - I wouldn't worry about it. The whole point is really to get people motivated to make some screens for everybody. That mission is already accomplished. This isn't Wimbleton, it's just a fun little pick-up tournament so folks can see how the game is played.
If NCSoft was doing this, they would be giving away real life stuff like video cards or free game time. Then we have to start getting more hard core about the rules. -
I take it "Yarrow" is a plant that grows on pirates?

It crosses the line from being a good credit card to a credit card that needs replacing.

Thanks! There are even more in the archive thread. The contest had to put some limits on the entries to keep it competitive but in there, it's all open!

Leo... Leandro... hehe, I should have known!!
-
!?!? Obsidian Farmer and RakuAspara are different pics but they have the same characters to select in the hero and villain select category. Did something get crossed up?
Edit: and Pangea and Johnny Nails! -
I think I'm getting the hang of this W00tness...
Winding Heliix (beta test)
My main recently did a little <ahem> charity work on the Test server (she wouldn't be caught dead in this on the live server).

P.S. Might need to click the images once or twice to get them full size.

Why, you'll only need to do that another 500 times to get the last badge...
[/ QUOTE ]
Or you could, I don't know, maybe PLAY THE GAME? Get a team and destroy pillboxes, hopefully with some resistance put up by the other side? After all, that's what the badge is actually for. -
[ QUOTE ]
They'd place the heavy, and the *player* would go into the base and go AFK. Not the heavy. The *player* would be completely safe. The Heavy would be sitting out there blasting at whatever patrol went by, and the player would be pulling in INF, recipes, and the like.
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh, so it's the PLAYER that is safe, not the heavy. And you're saying the no-heal bit does nothing to stop this. OK.
But is that what they are trying to stop with this particular nerf? Such a heavy would only really be helping to defend the already-heavily-defended base, not knocking over most of the pill boxes while everyone was out. Could be the no-regen is to help against that tactic and the no-heal is to keep people from taking out pillboxes solo, or at least slow them down. -
You've probably got old drivers. The ones that come with Vista tend to do that. Head out to nVidia's website and get yourself the latest. If that doesn't work, better start a new topic with your DxDiag.

Making them unhealable doesn't really address this - if someone went AFK in any sort of healing range, they're easy prey to *anyone* from another faction in the zone.
[/ QUOTE ]
!?!?!?? I don't follow this at all. First off, how do you place a heavy somewhere that it can shoot at NPC enemies but players can't touch it? Second, how is it that the heavy can't be healed by an emp defender with heal aura when it's in this spot?? -
Oh, good point on the patrol missions! I had forgotten about them. In fact, I think I need to go run a few....

Hero A hands the item to B who hands the item to C who sells it on consignment, bought by D who trades it directly to E for some other nice loot. So which ones are guilty and in need of banning? Which ones just ended up with the item? If they chat in game about it then, if you've still got the chat logs and the tools to dig into them, you might be able to tell. If they are talking over the phone, IM, or whatever other way then you'll never know.
Really, I think the only group with a chance against these guys is actually Cryptic. The game design has to be such that people don't want gold farmer services. I think a big reason WoW has massive farmer issues is that people are wanting to skip to the end game. Cryptic has taken care of that - we haven't really got an end game here. Paying $500 to have somebody PL your hero up to 50 is like paying somebody $50 to tell you the end of the latest Harry Potter book. (Of course, there's still the matter of getting the players to understand that there's no end game....)
The players have some weight, too, of course. We have to resist the temptation. But with 100,000+ people.... -
Very nice guide! I've got a few nitpicks, though...

1. Sewer raiding from Atlas to Skyway quick XP
[/ QUOTE ]
Oh... hmmm... not so sure that's a good idea right off the bat. I would rather do a few missions for my first Atlas contact. Why? So I can go back to him/her from RV.

12. Defeat: 100 Circle of Thorns Mages (Hollows) Archmage
13. Defeat: 100 Lost Bosses (South-central Skyway) Vanguard
[/ QUOTE ]
At level FIVE!?!? The CoT mages badge is almost unavoidable unless you solo constantly. The Lost aren't, you'll need to hunt them a bit sometime, but at level 5 you are going to get your brain roasted. Wait until closer to 20 when your team has some mez protection.
Something else for level 10 - the University! Know all they have to teach already? Fine. When they hand you some materials for your little lab class, drop the mission. Free stuff!
Fake Nemesis are best found in the Shadow Shard. Which reminds me - the General's little tour as well as the Molepoint missions are very easy and reward quite a nice hunk of XP. I still llike to keep a Kora Fruit mission handy, too, just in case I get tapped out of inspires in a particularly hard fight.
At level 35 you want to go straight to the Vanguard base and join up, unless you have pressing Roleplaying reasons not to do so. Do the first mission and join up. This allows merits to fall from all Rikti you fight.
You'll want to make sure you sell some salvage early to open up a couple more salvage slots.
Level 50-for-months-now-I'm-tired-of-this-guy: Do the final 3 Shadow Shard TFs - or at least the final SS TF. It's a great TF for a "last hurrah!" No particularly interesting rewards, but you're past that now. -
We're trying to get a little Wikiness going, too.

Admittedly, if I was picking a number out of my butt, I would have gone with level 20. High enough to encompass some real mass of characters, low enough to be a reasonably easy hurdle to get to.
[/ QUOTE ]
I also agree with 20. I think that's around when the emotional attachment starts to kick in.
So does this mean I get to sign LadyK's butt?
