I've been asking for Female Huge since beta.
No love.
[/ QUOTE ]
Mostly because it makes BaBs sad, and to a lesser extent (perhaps even a similar extent!) Sexy Jay.
BaBs would have to make sure that it plays properly with every animation in the game twice (Flying_NO and Flying_YES modes).
Jay would have to check every possible existing combination of costume parts for clipping, and to make sure that it all bound to the right places and in the right orientations (skirt bug reference there).
It's possible, but that's a lot of work for them (and any attached minions) to go through, and it may mean that they don't have as much time to put out other new things.
...personally, I'd love if they dedicated a minion and a coffee maker/doughnut dispenser to the project and made it his new jerb for a while to 'teach him the ropes'. Then all they'd have to do is quality assurance, before signing off on the result. -

Wow, that is every bit as bad as I thought it was.
Castle, is there any chance we can get lethal damage attacks boosted, across the board, to make up for the fact that they're almost universally resisted?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yeah, this would be a good thing. Or perhaps, since they're, you know, cutting and piercing, they could have a certain percentage of their damage be unresistable, or something, to simulate their armor-piercing nature.
[/ QUOTE ]
Like, say, perhaps... -Def in a lot of them? -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm not sure if it's been said yet, but...
Have they even confirmed that it will be a new set? All I've seen is that a signature character has it. That doesn't mean we will.
[/ QUOTE ]
Positron all but flat-out stated that both Dual Pistols and Demon Summoning are two new sets in the work for players. Heavily implied.
...in regards to the speculation on the topic, I'm putting my money on either Fire Blast or Ice Blast attacks. Looking at the Hordelings and Hellfrosts as examples, and the Behemoths/Ba'tzul/Succubi as Fire examples.
...still hoping we get Hellish Bolts (succubi cone fire blast) as a third attack, just for the thematics of it. But it'll likely be Fire Breath or Fireball. :/
EDIT: Also worth mentioning this set alone, if done right, is worth me dropping my embargo on Masterminds in my character list. I'll have to revise my statement, and state with scientific certainty that I shall have no more then two masterminds, instead of just one. -

Hm i don't think devs would allow stalkers have 2 holds in 1 set but maybe still keep that patch or add confuse instead idk...the rest looks pretty sweet...>_<
[/ QUOTE ]
Easiest solution would be to remove the hold from Bitter Freezing Touch and rename it. I used the power Bitter Freeze Ray as a template.
[/ QUOTE ]
Why, is my question? >> We already have an Ice Melee set. It seems kind of silly to totally redo it when you have a fairly solid frame to work with.
The only things that are really likely to change are things I highlighted (which are just speculation on my part) and the Tier 9, which will hopefully be changed to something other then a weak area sleep. Though that might actually be of benefit to a Stalker (barring the change in crits to no longer work off mez - I'm looking at it purely from a survivability angle there). Even with a damage component, a Mag 2 sleep isn't doing you a lot of good. :<
I'd really rather see something more useful there, but it's up to Castle (and anyone else on the Dev crew in charge of proliferation). :/
Ice Armor, I have even less information to speculate about, though I hope it doesn't get as torn up as hard as Willpower did (totally my opinion there). -
I personally plan to throw myself headlong under the proverbial bus.
Loading up Marshal Brass' arc on my Ice/Elec and seeing how bad it goes. She's my lowest-level Dominator, one of the only sets I'm unsure about the synergy/viability of, and that's one of the more annoying arcs for me just because of the presence of Shivans and Professor Echo. Also has a good mix of other annoying enemy types for me (Goldbrickers, Arachnos, Wyvern...).
If that passes with acceptable performance, then I should be fine with any other changes. Though any specific set changes, I'll bust out someone else. -
If it's proliferated at all, fully expect Ice Melee to be similar to it's current form, with the exception that AoE and controls may be removed in favor of ST damage, and Taunt will almost universally be replaced with Assassin Strike, and losing an AoE for Placate (Frost, most likely).
Ice Armor will probably lose out on at least two powers in favor of Hide and another utility - I'd bet money on Icicles and Hibernate being the victims. Stalkers usually lose damage auras, and already get Hibernate in the Leviathan PPP.
Still, chances are high it may get proliferated eventually, and most likely in a mostly intact port from Tankers.
EDIT: Oop. Placate is in the primary. Fixed that.
For the melee portion, you can sort of look at Energy Melee - it's almost exactly the same as the Tanker version, except that Assassin Strike is in place of Taunt, Whirling Hands switched places with Build Up, and Stun got pushed back for Placate (which replaced Whirling Hands).
We don't really have any easy figures for the armor set, because I don't think any purely Tanker sets have gotten shifted over... except maybe Willpower, but that set really did get sort of gutted. -

I dunno what I did to my leg last week. My knee isn't in terrible pain but my whole leg feels tight and there's a slight push under the cap.
[/ QUOTE ]
Knees sure are fun, aren't they? I had to quit playing hockey when mine got to the point where I was in more or less constant pain, and could barely walk (I could skate, but not walk. Go figure). It was several years before something approximating normalcy returned, and my right kneecap still pops loose given sufficient provocation, which is a frightening and painful experience.
[/ QUOTE ]
Was yours related to a lot of low-sticking, too?
I've had my left one dislocated on a number of times, sprained the right... twisted'em and the ankles...
All because some people can't play fair and honest. :/
Are you at the point where you start wondering if you should just add freakin' escalators or elevators to your home yet? They should seriously make that stuff cheaper.. -
I seem to generally fall into the same mindset as well. I'm really terrible in anything approaching a management/recruitment position, but the second you put me in an advisement role? I'm Rasputin with b- *Glances down.* Well, a rather flat, womanly Rasputin. ;<
Some people are born to lead... Some to manage the gate while they're away. Some to command, others to inspire those in charge.
Not a bad place to be, honestly. Good luck with your new group, Fourth. -

I like that people are talking about the undesirableness of "healers" as if no of us has ever gone into the sewers before. Do some quick math on the value of a heal versus the value of a buff at that level, and tell me that there aren't occasions when a "healer" is highly desirable if not outright required to keep the team running. Evem if healing becomes gradually less needed as the game progresses, it doesn't start out that way.
[/ QUOTE ]
You can't look at just one part of the game in a vacuum. That's somewhat silly, especially when considering a fair number of Support (Radiation Infection, Thernal Radiation, Dark Miasma, Kinetics, Empathy/Pain Domination, Storm Summoning, Poison) all get a power with a Heal component before level 4, and a number after that fact (Traps, Cold Domination*) get something to affect HP values as well before 20. Infact, out of the entire game, only three sets (Force Fields, Sonic Resonance, Trick Arrow) focus entirely on non-heal forms of support and mitigation.
Is it really worth excluding a whopping 3 sets, to use your pet stereotypical term? Especially considering that even on a typical Sewers run that a Force Field or Sonic Resonance Defender can protect an entire team from taking as much or any damage at all, even with the lack of slots at those levels? Fun fact here, is that as far as some Buffs go (I can verify for a fact the values in Force Field and Sonic Resonance), they provide the exact same base values regardless of your level. It's only what you have slotted that really matters. A factor of 15% additional defense (Cold Domination, Force Field) to multiple areas (including positionals) is a major buff for some sets, whereas a 20% Resistance buff may not seem like much, but it may be enough to keep your preferred aggro-management specialist (That's a fluff term I'm using only specifically for this discussion; In the sewers, it doesn't really matter who, if anyone, is tanking) up long enough to survive the alpha and pop a green. Or for someone with a heal to prop him up (fairly good odds on that if you recruit enough support).
And what about the Villain game? Why do we automatically pretend that 'healer' mentality doesn't exist redside? Especially with the addition of Pain Domination to that part of the game. That's foolishly shortsighted (Yay, new favorite term!) for making a sweeping generalization about how bloody important heals are to the game.
They're not. They're a tool, same as any other that a Support character gets. And they're nowhere near as special, or as much of a force multiplier. I prefer to recruit based on what an entire AT brings me, not on what one tiny aspect of what they do is. If I have a team mostly full of blasters and one lone tanker or scrapper, I'm going to probably prefer a Controller. If I have a team of mostly brutes and dominators, I'm likely going to think about adding a corrupter. If my team consists almost entirely of SoAs and stalkers, I may actually prefer a Mastermind. If my team is mostly melee-oriented, picking up a defender seems the best choice.
But in a pinch? It doesn't matter, I'll grab someone and make it work. My preference of support is not necessary, and neither is healing.
(*Clarification: Frostworks technically affects HP values, and mitigation values, directly by increasing the pool available. The more HP you have, the more valuable every point of Resistance, Defense, and Regeneration you get has.) -
I still don't hate Empathy/* or */Empathy characters. :/ I have one myself. And a */Pain Corrupter.
Still find the term 'healer' ridiculously inaccurate, though. -
Random Idea #478 is a horrifically complex sandbox-style MMORPG system idea that I've been futzing with in the back of my mind for the past year or so.
It's really an over-complicated timesink kind of plan, but it's fun for me to think about. I go off into thought experiments like that on occasion.
(Sadly, in the event I ever get motivated to actually use this idea, I can't go into any more detail then that.) -
July 6th. For no reason other than I'd find it endlessly amusing for unfathomable reasons.
-
Good luck.
I should probably putter around with my Random Ideas #478... been feeling lazy about it. -
We have ice cream in there!?
*Dives into freezer.*
Dude. I've heard of walk-ins, but this is ridicul- Crap. Where'd the door go?
Curse you, incredibly fun tobagon hills! -
Another nifty term for future reference!
FoC: Foxpublic of Couchtopia - a not-so-sovereign state ruled by one (1) fox (;3c), that sees a lot of tourism in the 'great spot to nap' and 'cozy viewing area' trades. Also a nifty place to think about things and stuff, if you're a fox. -
Dang, that sucks. That's a really nifty shirt to lose. :/
I'm still sad that I can't fit into some of my more amusing shirts anymore. I sympathize!
And, pfft. Calorie counting's fer sissies. I eats what I like, and like what I eats! -
...You have no room to throw stones, dear sir, as you have a liquid breakfast as well!
-
Yanno, as security officer, I sort of feel obligated to do something...
But I just got coffee. And, yanno. It's not, beyond the shooting and what not, that there was really an offense. <.<
Unless we're going to cover malicious decorating and cooking in the list of things not to do. Because if so, we're gonna have to update the bounty on Logan's wanted poster. -
Over the top? >>
Well, this one's hilariously over the top.
I'll see if I can't dig up anything less amusing, and more serious. But such is an epic task, and while I can't really think of anything right now, Apocalyptica tends to be very awesome if you're into metal and instrumentals. -
I tended to dress in what has become known as 'geek chic'.
T-shirt, usually plain, expressing some opinion, or other sphere of interest (right now, it's my Nirvana T-shirt - I'm a sucker for music), pants or shorts (or if you can find one, a skirt!) with excess numbers of pockets (current pair of pants: 7) for storing of equipment (usually my Quadfecta: Watch, Phone, Wallet [What? Purses are so inefficient], DSlite), sensible shoes (usually tennis shoes or sneakers; I still prefer flat-bottomed 'skating' shoes over anything else. Old habits die hard, and I can't balance right in other shoes). Occasionally hat or light jewelry, maybe a jacket or coat.
>> All of which helped me blend in with various crowds. I fit right in at Computer Club (I was an 'unofficial' member, as I tended to just hang out with everyone in it rather then actually be in it), drama (lighting assistant, when sports didn't conflict), the 'punk/goth' crowd...
Added to the fact I'm not memorable, honestly. -
How is it not shortsighted? I looked it up just now to be sure.
'Unable to understand things deeply'. 'Not given careful consideration'. 'Lacking foresight or scope'.
I'd say ignoring every other tool that the person in question (once again, more then just defenders can fill the Support role) to focus on one tool (healing), when a lot of those tools can prevent the need for healing when applied properly is rather short-sighted, and says more about the people that stamp their foot and try to claim that it's not a silly notion in this game.
And that's all it is. A silly, misused term that's rather ignorant ('destitute of knowledge';'unconscious or unaware';'foolish or silly') in it's attempt to pigeonhole (stereotype) entire sections of the playerbase. -
I was a ghost in high school, despite being active in sports. Most people knew me... but few likely actually remember me. People in my graduating class that I see regularly and remember, don't follow suit.
But, in a similar fashion, I tended to interact well with most people. And even if I didn't like you, I'd be more then willing to talk with you (briefly - it depends on how much I found your company displeasing) or even work with you on a project.
About the only people that really remembered me, were the small handful of folks I talked with on a regular basis, only 2 of which I kept contact with (because we had similar interests and activities). One of which is still my best friend evers, and my home-girl.
For the people I didn't get along with, we had the rare verbal spat. I was usually above wasting my time with that kind of bullhonkery, when I could be working on studying or goofing off instead. You ain't special! You ain't important. No reason to waste the time, effort, or really good insults on people that don't matter. So, I just didn't. The few times it came to almost physical confrontation, I made it very clear that I view fights in exactly two, and only two ways: Practice, and survival. I don't hold back for no one.
The few times I did get into physical confrontations outside of the field hockey field, I tended to end fights swiftly, efficiently, and definatively. Like decking the head cheerleader for talkin' smack about my beaux at the time (stupid me - defending someone that would burn me later; C'est le amore). Never had a problem with her after that, or any of her friends (one week's detention, and being politely asked not to try out next year; I shrugged and went off to field hockey instead).
Everyone I hang out with regularly now, I feel the same way as I do all of my close friends (or +1 awesome acquaintences). Everyone else in the world? I'm a ghost. Maybe a smart, quiet ghost, if they remember anything at all. -
[ QUOTE ]
I'm much the same, I am who I am and if people don't like that well usually they're not my friends to begin with so their presence is non-existent to me. But I rather come across as an accepting, understandable, and voice of reason-like kind of person.
[/ QUOTE ]
You so silly.
Honestly, I'd rather come across as me. >> Which, often times, is a very nice, civil, even cute person on occasion. Mostly because I'm all about riding the emotional high, and there is NOTHING more fun for me then being around a bunch of happy people. If you're not happy, I will poke at you to find out why, and cheer you up if at all possible. Or help you break it down so you can get to that point where you can join in on the party, too.
No frowns. No sad fase. All smiles. Mandatory smiles, darnit! Or I'll... most likely pout mercilessly. Mercilessly!
:3
Though, I also don't sugar coat the fact that I can be a total [explicitive] on occasion, and frequently revel in the evil, mean, cruel things I do to other people. Because that's how I roll.
I do, however, at least try to make sure all of my intended victims understand that it's not personal, it's just business, and that they fully deserved what they got. -

Sorry I've been having a rough morning on a forum that was originally used for our base of operations in Tabula Rasa.
Morning folks, I apologize for not saying it earlier.
[/ QUOTE ]
To put it simply think of it like this: Have you ever entered a place where you knew atleast three of those folks didn't like your company?
I always get that hostile feeling like suddenly I'm behind enemy lines. I say one wrong thing and then it's like Armageddon comes early. So I don't like being in those situations no matter how many times I try to say, "Build yourselves a bridge and get over it.".
[/ QUOTE ]
I can dig it, but then.. I'm an apathetic, stubborn pain-in-the-[censored] when it comes to situations like that. I don't really care what people think about me or my opinion - if I really did, I'd ask. If people want to dislike me... that's coo'. I probably don't like them either, especially if they're not going to air grievances in a polite, civil manner to my face.
I don't let anyone come between me and enjoying myself, or talking with people that I consider my friends or associates.
...this is not to say that I'm a wholly unreasonable bint, but I tend to handle situations like that like I would a bar fight. Right hook, BAM! -
Another year older, and hopefully another year wiser.
Felicitous annual hatching day, Stryph-man.
