  1. How about:

    Oh I'm a Mastermind and I'm okay
Summon my zombies to come and play
    I buff them up
    I set them free
    Then go to the lavatory
    A F K is my message
While they all fight for me
    (repeat by chorus)

    I am a one-man army
    Dark Servant and six pets
A Tortured Soul for aggro -
    Corrupters get the debt!
  2. Should really be in the Creative or Roleplaying forums (I forget which)

    mwahahaha

Coming to the Comic Expo in Bristol in 4 weeks? Hope so - you'll get to meet quite a few people, by all accounts. I know this is listed in other threads, but people that I know are coming (cuz most of them are staying at my flat) are (apologies for any omissions/inaccuracies in names):

Doc (Doc Green/Doctor Vulcan/Light Servant/Longbow Colonel et al.)
    Cap (Captain USA/Captain USSR/Ballbearing)
Jet (Green Jet/um...and some other heroes...)
    Chaplain
    Enzyme
    Stasis
    Silver Weasel

    Not visiting with me:
    BioGirl
    Bridger & the game staff
    Many others...

Hope to catch you there! (You can visit Bath while you are in the area - lovely town, well worth a trip)
  4. Both are good, but Impale has the added advantage of i) range, and ii) -FLY. Handy for those pesky types that like to hover just out of melee range

But I find I use both Impale _and_ Skewer a great deal...
  5. I have Thorntrops. Initially, I really didn't expect to use the power much, except as a way of slowing mobs getting to me. However, currently slotted with 1 dam and 1 range, I find that the damage from them is actually pretty good (at L37, I frequently get 9 points/tick out of them) - further slotting to follow at L39/40 should make it an even better power.

So yes, in conclusion, the 'trops are a useful addition to the arsenal (I tend to throw them into a group that I have immobilised with Creepers/Roots/my pet, or at any boss that I have successfully held already). Hope this helps.

To the OP, I would say that you might want to ignore the Spirit Tree power - it's not really that useful except in very rare circumstances, IMO. Pick an extra pool power, such as one of the leadership powers (as you presumably team a lot) and it will help the overall team damage/defence.

As an aside, apologies if I was briefly causing echo (or something) on the teamspeak server. I just installed the programme while waiting patiently in the sidelines like a good scrapper that I am, and wanted to check it out. I'll need to sort it out later so it actually works.

No worries Idris - it just makes it next-to-impossible for people to talk I have been guilty of the same offence when I leave my finger mashed on the Ctrl-key by mistake...

The way round it is either to set TS to push-to-talk (not voice activated), or wear a headset so that the speakers don't feed back through your mic.

Look forward to seeing you again in TeamSpeak!

    NEW Hami Raid

Heh. Once a month I think I could probably handle. More frequently than that...I doubt it. Sitting there for 2 hours (after an hour of watching teams gather) with healing and/or holds on autofire...well, it gets boring real fast.

I never even SAW Hamidon for the last hour of the raid...

But once a month or so? Yes, that I could handle.
  8. _Doc_

    Hamidon...Done!

    I missed one??? Waaaah!

*goes off to sob into his beer*

    *er...cornflakes - it's a work day*
  9. _Doc_

    Hamidon...Done!

Yup, kudos to Jiaozy for organizing the 2nd successful Union Hami raid Well done, mate - privilege to be there!

Doc Green - now the proud owner of TWO Hami-Os
  10. There was the suggestion of a blink on the teacher's face at the childish voice coming from such a statuesque figure, but it was quickly masked. "Very well. If she doesn't feel any better in five minutes, take her to the nurse's office and then get back to class."

His eyes flickered down to the broken slab at the feet of the group and his lips pursed in a moue of disapproval before he turned his gaze to Jack.

"As you can see, your assistance, though well-intentioned I am sure, is not required. You may go - you can pick up your timetable and anything else you require from the reception desk by the entrance." He pointed back down the corridor with his hand as he spoke, then took one final look at the group and the floor before turning and heading off down the corridor at a fast step.
  11. Without warning, a middle-aged man appeared around the corner, striding towards the three students standing by the lockers. His eyes narrowed as he caught sight of them and he marched up, coming to a military-style parade rest in front of the small group. They looked at him, startled at the appearance of someone in a Longbow uniform at school.

"You three! Why aren't you in class already?" he barked. "Get along now, or you will be reporting to me after school!"

As the man noticed the confused and slightly fearful expressions crossing the faces in front of him, his expression mellowed slightly. "New students? Very well, if you don't know where to go then I can direct you. You may call me Colonel Johnson - I teach Technology, and lecture on Freedom Corps, Longbow and Arachnos among other things."
  12. Don't know how it is post-I6, but if you take a tank to Eden and start herding up DE groups, you can get an amazing number of debuff icons from Swarms. IIRC, I think my max was 52...
  13. Actually, despite my arrangments this weekend, I should be online by 7.30pm Sunday. So you can have Doctor Vulcan along (if you need a replacement for Tundra), or Doc Green (if, as usual, you all need your backsides saving from imminent death)...

If not (ie the team is full), then I'll happily bounce around soloing and listening to your fun on TS

EDIT: Of course, neither Vulcan nor Green are DarkWings. But a couple of my other alts are...and I would hope that I qualify as one of the 'regulars'

    Katie Hannon TF

Don't know if I'll be home by 5pm (more likely to be towards 5.30), but I'll be on with Longbow Colonel (L30 Ill/Kin controller).

    Catch ya later!
  15. I also can't remember what powers change, or how, in PvP. However, my suggestions would be:

Slot 3 acc/2 recharge/1 damage for PvP. Accuracy is needed more (most players have heightened defence), and given that most sensible players will have a stock of Break Frees, it's more important to be able to hit them frequently with mezzes than have the mezzes last longer.

Keep moving. Wherever possible, maintain SJ/SS (or, even better, Fly or Hover) and get out of range as soon as your attack fires off. You can go back if you hit them, but it gives you a slight chance of getting away if you miss

Immobilize comes into its own when fighting tanks and scrappers. Because they have fewer ranged attacks, you can get away with dancing around them throwing attack chains while they try to get out of the immobilize.

Just a couple of thought to hopefully make your experience in PvP zones better...
  16. I agree that PvP and PvE have different requirements:

PvE should be slotted with duration, as that gives you more time to damage the mobs before the power wears off.
PvP, on the other hand, tends to end with the use of a Break Free: thus, it is better to slot for recharge than for duration as that enables you to hit your opponent more often with the hold/sleep/other mez power.

Just for information, my dominator has her main single hold slotted 2 acc/2 dam/2 hold duration, area hold is 2 acc/1 dam/2 duration, mass confuse is 2 acc/3 confuse duration/1 recharge.

You don't specify the server, but if you are on Union:

    [/ QUOTE ]
He must be on Union seens as this is the Union forums :P

    [/ QUOTE ]

Picky, picky! You need to cut me some slack, since I'm almost an OAP...

And, as anyone that I regularly team with will tell you, my brain isn't what it used to be. I blame it on an excess of substance abuse in my younger years - nothing to do with the onset of senility at all. Now, where was I...?
  18. Ooooh! A fellow Lancastrian to boot! Sadly, I live in Wiltshire these days, but I'm originally from Preston born and bred...
  19. Further to my earlier post, I have since been reminded that I have other arrangements all weekend (involving putting on armour and beating people up with big sticks). So I'm gonna have to miss this one - sorry
  20. You don't specify the server, but if you are on Union:

Send me a /tell next time you're online, mate. The SGs of which I am a part are mostly adults (although we don't necessarily always act that way ), and I myself am 40 so I know where you're coming from

I would recommend Darkwings or Agency on CoH (Union) if you want the company of other old farts... *ducks and runs before the rest of the SG lynch me*

Oh, and download TeamSpeak and get yourself on the Union server (see info in the 'What's on Union' sticky at the top of this board) - you can generally find us on there...

Global handle (as it says in my sig): @Doc
  21. Y I Mann is up for Hess, and has the contact unlocked. I'll be there.
  22. Having done this TF with Death Rose already (this is the Air Pirate badge, yes? Anyway, I have done all 3 TFs with her...), I _highly_ recommend 1 or more Brutes for the final mission.

It is _hard_, will lead to much faceplanting, and it's damned hard to get the required turrets with squishies...although firing up Domination and then confusing some of the turrets is highly amusing

I wish you the best of luck anyway...
  23. Well, I would just like to thank the guys and gals who were around to do Moonfire on Friday night, followed by Hess on Sunday afternoon. Both TFs were a great success, and Hess went blindingly fast being completed in under 2 hours with only one death (yours truly, stuck under a catwalk while trying to fly out and being nuked by the self-destruct...)

I highly recommend multiple /kin controllers for fast & furious murdering of Council goons

However, I still have Hess available on my scrapper, and may well be able to do it again next Sunday
  24. All being well, I'll come along with Doc Green (L50 Empathy/Energy/Psi defender - heals + the psi hold). Alternatively, I could bring my L50 stone/fire/fire tank (has Char hold) if preferred, although I would need to respec as I'm still slotted pre-ED with him.

Look forward to my 3rd Hami raid...
  25. Last post hasn't appeared - if it does turn up, apologies for the double posting

You may need to remind me (@Doc on your global friends, Wynter), but I would love to be there with Death Rose, my L36 Plant/Thorns dominator.

    Cheers!
