    Well... Nothing personal, but...
    How would you convince people to let you lead, if you DON'T have badge bonuses yet? Plus, hardest and most important task of a star is assembling the team, after what it isn't that different from good regular team tanking/blasting/buffing/whatever, yet this is totally overlooked by these badges system. In fact it actively encourages passing star to whoever has coolest badge, and INF bonus would add injury to insult.
  2. Frankly, I don't see how this will encourage teaming... IMVHO problem with teams (or lack of them), isn't lack of reward, or that topic that is now rightfully under insta-ban, it's that... Well, nott enough people wanting to _lead_ them... Everybody seems to be waiting to be invited, at least on low LVLs...

    By the second? Very good. I personally was afraid that only full hours or even days of logout time will be counted. (and so you'd have to write down when exactly you logged out to not to log in 4 hours 59 minutes afterwards...)
  4. Strange... I wasn't seeking invasions, but got all the badges without even noticing on the day 1, because I was just near Peregrine when it was a)invaded b)so full it had 2 instances. All in all I participated in 2 invasions (soloed the very 1st one ) and watched another one, - was a bit late, no group... Luck of the draw...

    Seems it stopped to work... Or maybe It works only in certain conditions/for some emotes...

    That is, I still get the emote I last set that way when my toons are idle, but can't change it to anything else. Maybe, just maybe, it's because that last emote is /em akimbo, wjch continues indefinitely, aand other emotes I tried it with had been une-play then idle. (like /em powerup, etc.)
  6. Seems that duplicate costume does spawn either trick or rock/salvage (much rarer)... But unlike regular tricks, you get inspirations for those.

    Badges themselves are different, texts look confusingly similar though... Maybe it would be as with gladiator badges, - separate tab, so you can't select DJ badges as titles...

    BTW, someone said that already, but... but reds have pilots. We have "commuters" /em protest! "Monorail Driver(Engineer)" would be better... (and yes, despite playing MM now and then, I'm heroside at heart, )
  9. I have no solid proof, but I susoect that low-levels do get more treats... If they don't they should... (Lvl 6 Storm/Elec Vs werevolf... He'd have a chance if I selected flight instead of TP for 1st pool... )

    OTOH my main scrapper eats vampire lords for breakfast (ok, might be a problem if it's were+sorceress), so it's fair he needs more ToTing to get all the cool drops

    P.S. Minor inconveniences aside, IT ALL ROCKS! Really, absolutely, rocks, yes, even on Defiant, I was there. And I still haven't seen special GMs
  10. Yes, In about 8 hours of T&Ting I've already got all the event badges except for GM-related AND one for Spirits. I also got only 1 (one) Statesman's mask in the whole day! Next most difficult was one for vamps and Back Alley Brawler's gloves...

    Log in as any mastermind toon. Summon some pets. Type <font class="small">Code:[/color]<hr /><pre> /petsayall &lt;em dance1&gt; </pre><hr /> (or any other emote) Log out. Log in as any other toon on any server and stay idle for a while... Your toon should start to do whatever emote you wrote in that petsayall!


    Ok, I have nothing against custom "idle" emotes, but isn't this a bit... unusual way to set them?

  16. Well, with hospital TP network being active, we talk MMO deaths (which are extreme variant of comic books deaths... ) even from the in-character PoV... And both proposed heroic MM inherents penalise pet death/lack of personal participation in different ways.

    Add some pet character development arcs (I know, very hard...) and heroic MM looks almost really heroic...

Well, After complaining that heroside has less interesting pets, and CoV just lacks appeal to me I finally decided to not to read mission descriptions and rolled merc/traps MM yesterday, and got him to lvl 9... If THAT's underperformance, then I'm well, afraid to think that high-level bots do... I was able to solo +3 missions effortlessly, and +4 are possible, with some judicious use of Teleport Foe, pre-placed traps, etc, for a totally new player. Anyway, I see why they may be not so good at higher lvls, with mot opponents having resistance and all attacks being DoT... Yet I love the concept...

    Would slotting Achilles Heel(- Res)+Lady Grey's (en dam) procs to tier 1 and just Lady Grey's (or other +dam procs) to all other tiers work? (I know, that's expensive...)
  18. Is it feasible to create SG/VG populated entirely with your own alts? How much effort that would be? (say, how long it would take to create a rez point? or storage? Or a few telepads?) Any advice?

    It's not that I'm so antisocial that I don't want "proper" groups, but... Well, having a base which is entirely yours has some attraction too...

    Hmm... Nice sets, but I had a bit different idea for ATs inherents...

    LEADER
    Primary: Summon
    Secondary: Ranged (as in blaster primary)

    All direct attack powers in Summon are replaced with heal/buff/rez ally.
    Inherent: Front ranks: True heroic lerader knows that nothing inspires his cohort more than his own feats of heroism. The longer he remains in combat, attacking and being attacked, the more damage his cohorts deal.

    A Leaders's Front Ranks level is shown by an orange bar between Endurance and Experience Points. It rises each time he makes an attack or is attacked himself (regardless of hit or miss).

    For heroic pets dead means dead, - owner gets XP debt (half of what he'd get himself), and resumonning won't work without resurrecting/hospital/awake.

    LOL, you're pulling my leg with this one, right? And even if such a thing would be really implemented, I suspect it would be with compulsory respec or something equally drastic to nerf it...

    Yes, That's the problem That's why it's not a suggestion, just pie-in-the-sky wish/attemt to find a loophole to create "heroic" pets, just like they created "villainous" heals in I13...

  22. It's not a suggestion... Just a question, so far. I'd really lke to play pet-based AT, but can't stand more than 10 minutes of blood-red interface, minor-key chords and "war of all against all" atmosphere of CoV...

    I understand that using pets exacly sa MM does won't ever be part of CoH, but... There must be a way. Say, limiting pet pools to robotic and approriately renaming mercenary, and giving the AT less pets and more offensive capabilities of its own... Something like that... Any others who thought about this?

    I'm not a developer, so this is a pure out-of thin air speculation, but I suspect there's already special slot for 'packs, hidden from the editor, but available programmaticaly. Reclassifying/linking it with back detail can crreate more problems than solve.

    Other posibility is that packs aren't costume at all and are handled like powers FX all the way... Well, then it's more difficult. Again, IANAD, this is pure speculation.
