...War Witch should get to kill off Requiem and come back to the land of the living. (Unless she finds the astral plain cooler, that is)
Because, let's face it, Requiem is a bit of a wash out. Ok, the Center isn't much better, but at least he's kinda cool in a 'puppet master string-puller' kinda way. And Reichsman, despire being a cheating nazi goit, does 'way cooler ' in spades. -
Because Malta would really work with a Meta who bascially turned himself into an abomination made up of a number of other monsters?
Malta have one meta in their arsenal that I know of, and their a shape shifter.
I just don't see it, myself. -

We got told, I know that much....but I can't remember what the heck the colours stand for. -

Where can I sign up to become a Goliath War Walker pilot?
Giant smashy uber laser powered death? Mememememe! -
The only good thing about that mission?
Run it tend times and you get the damned Unveiler badge. It's the easiest way to get the Nem rifle redside, because all the other missions are stingy as hell with Fake Nems.
Boring? Hell yes. But I'll take boring over unachievable costume parts anyday. And yeah, the mole machines suck. -

That might work for tankers...
But my Fire/Fire Blaster gives this a big ol' "Hell freaking no!"
I like my Inferno doing *ahem* OVER 900!! to whole mobs. Theres naff all point me hitting more things if it also leaves them all alive. This is why I keep getting dissapointed with Dual Pistols non-nuke; I have to go through all that, and there still tends to be one or two still alive to wail on me. -
Quote:Because they built them first, and did it better!Well, fun as the ITF is, like the Reichs TF and SF, as Samuel Tow and a few other lore buffs point out the whole damn thing's a lore related nightmare.
And personally, I think the 5th column should get a bit of a revamp if only because THEY'RE the ones re-surging, and it makes little sense that they're so successful when they're using the SAME tactics and weapons they had when the Council took them over before.
Beating up some semi-alien loving ex-neo-nazi fascist...uh...Italians?
Or wailing on Super Soldier Nazi's throughout time?
Do I even have to answer that?

Quote:True that. And I don't flat out object to unlockables. I just object to stuff like the 'Watchman' accolade for the Rikti sword/axe/rifle and such, which has to be earned again every new char, or things like the Red Cap knives on a Villain, which is simply a chore to achieve. Or the Nemesis rifle redside. I will not talk about the Nemesis rifle!!The good thing about tying stuff to Badges is that if you already have the Badge, you'll get the unlock right away. Not everything is counted, and thus you might need to re-qualify for an unlockable you should already have access to if it works off of something not counted before. Minor issue, just saying.
And I for one do very much feel that those items which are part and parcel to a specific group shouldn't just be stuck in the costume creator for everyone. Or else, if freely given out, then what is the reasoning for not freely giving out Rikti Swords and Council Rifles but making those unlockable? Mind you, a Master of... Badge is a stupidly high threshold for something cosmetic, but making people go a teensy bit out of their way when they want something NOW has never hurt anyone.
Simply put, costume parts are a purely aesthetic and, supposedly, fun part of the game. (Its all fun, but you know what I mean.) They should not be locked away in such a way that they become a chore to acquire. That totally defeats the purpose of them. -
Quote:Correct. He's stated that they'd like to make new versions, but with time issues, the idea is taking what's already in game and converting it for player use.
Yes, because suggesting locking items away behind Master Of badges is incredibly pointless, practically negating the point of even including the items in the first place, and simply making them a chore for most average players to acquire.Quote:All I stated is that rather than take a ton of old items, choose one that defines the NPC enemy and make an Ultra version for player use. I suggested ways I wouldn't have a problem obtaining them, then you crashed down on the whole idea because you'd rather not have to have more unlockables.
I....Quote:The idea isn't about how to obtain them. That's what you are getting hung up on. The idea is getting quality over quantity. Hell, I'd love if they unlocked every costume piece for us to use. But, if the quality of the item remains 6 years old, I'd probably never have a use for the item especially when all of the new stuff is far superior to the old.
Seriously? What the heck gave you the idea that I want 6-year old quality items? What I'm saying is that revamping old enemy groups AND giving players NPC related items could go hand in hand. Revamp old groups with high quality parts, at the same time using the new assets to make PC compatible versions, rather than having to reverse engineer all the old junk for use. It kill two birds with one stone. I'm just getting incredibly tired of the same old mantra that, somehow, 'New shinies is better than revamping!'
Revamp result: New Shiny
Added result: Removal of old junk
Downside: Error: None detected
Revamp of NPCs: Coincide: PC versions of NPC parts: Win/Win situation.
Savvy? -
Quote:Alright, I think I see what you're after.I didn't say anything about high end rewards; doing a TF for a costume set sucks; including the ITF. And no matter how you color it, enhancements are enhancements are enhancements; the four things you listed, all one and the same to me... a grind for slot fillers; meh.
What I'm suggesting is normal course of play rewards that anyone can attain; solo or team... with multiple ways to earn them.
Am I saying that all costume pieces should be released this way? Of course not but there's nothing wrong with mixing it up a little (short of charging $10 per set). And there's nothing wrong with not getting everything handed to a player on a silver platter. (I would even contend that the 'strings attached' to the Vanguard pieces are pushing it.)
For example, the Council guns are one of the few unlocks I actively like. You get them for defeating 100 Council, not tied in to any badge or anything. Beat up Council, get their guns. That's how it should work, if it has to be unlock based.
Personally, I don't care about functional stuff not being given to us on a silver platter. It's purely aesthetic pieces like costumes, which are simply there to look cool, that I object to being locked away by pointless barriers. -
Quote:...Don't get caught up on how to obtain it. First, let's get them to agree to making new bits and pieces. Rather than call off the war before the first battle starts, let them see that the main point is that we want more items, regardless.
Now they know we want more, and are asking "what" we'd like to have. Don't flush the toilet because of speculated ways to earn the items. Lets get them to agree on having the items in the first place.
(Note: when I mentioned "Rikti head/Mask" I'm not referring to a selectable hat or accessory item. I'd like to actually get a Rikti Head model that's unlockable. I'd like to have it as a Monsterous head and have some secondary accessories, like mouth guard or full helmet. Not just a simple mask from the pulldown menu.)
David's pretty much agreed to doing new pieces anyway. He certainly seems to want to.
I don't think you make as much sense as you seem to think you thunk you do. -
Quote:There already are. Their called IOs and HamiOs. Purples and PvP IOs.Release some as Defeat Badge unlockables, arc rewards, Accolade rewards, recipes, shop items through specific contacts or any combination of the above. Please just don't hand it all over to us for absolutely nothing (and I don't mean cash). IMO, there needs to be more shinies to work for in the game.
Costumes are the one thing that should never be classed as 'high end' rewards. Doing the ITF for Roman armour? That makes sense. You get a full set of costume parts for doing a thematic, tied in TF.
Doing a MoLGTF for one costume part? No. Just no. Having to pay stupid ammounts of Vanguard merits for the VG armour is bad enough. -
Quote:I...tht....b-So, rather than take an idea and change it to your own liking, you'd rather flush it down the toilet? Forget the "Master of" runs. You mean to tell me you'd rather have a 6 year old costume piece than an new "Ultra Mode" version of it?
All I gave were examples of ways to obtain it. To me, it doesn't matter how to obtain it. Would I pay $10 for just a Ultra Mode Rikti Mask? Yep. I'd rather earn it as an unlockable, ingame, no matter the stipulations to earning it. Just having the option of having new models is my real suggestion.
I can see where the Devs would rather put out new items, rather than rehash old stuff. There is always a point they have to stop something, no matter how needed it is, and move onto something new and fresh. So, why not just take some old ideas, remodel them, and sell them as something new? Nike and Reebok do the same thing everyday and make a killing at it.
I don't actually posses enough facepalm for that comment!
Does the idea of 'costume parts for free' have any merit? No? Revamping old parts that are looking pixelated and six-years old to Praetoria sort of standards, and giving the players useable variants at the same time! I'd rather have a revamped piece without and added, stupid string attached to it!
The Rikti, frankly, don't need re-doing. Thats the sort of standard that everything else needs to be brought up to. End of. -
Quote:NO!With Ultra Mode a key part of the game, wouldn't any conversion need to be updated? I mean, most groups (as someone mentioned) still look pixelated and 6 years old. Why not take the idea and change it?
Instead of converting something that looks old, take one (1) costume piece from a certain group and make a "Ultra" version of it. Something that defines the signature group (5th Column, Freakshow, etc.) and make it an unlockable.
As much as I'd love to be able to look like any NPC in game, the NPC's (with Ultra mode) look a bit lackluster.
So, I propose a series of "Ultra Unlockables":
Ultra 5th Column Face Mask: awarded for defeating a 5th Column in a 5th Column Task Force (maybe attach to a 'Master of' Badge; since it's 'Ultra' after all)
Ultra Freakshow Chest Piece: awarded for defeating Freakshow
Ultra Rikti Head/Mask: awarded for defeating Rikti percentage in a Lady Grey Task Force (maybe attach to a 'Master of' Badge; since it's 'Ultra' after all)
See where I'm going? Yes, it would have to mean making new items, but in the longrun, you're still going to have to make new items anyway. Why not make new versions of things people have been craving? Leave the NPC's to their old, drab costumes. We're the stars of the show, correct? We should be the ones that the NPC's are jealous of!
:P
Hell damn NO to locking costume pieces behind TFs and s*** like that, especially not Master of runs! Hell, the Epaulets being locked behind all the old, boring Phalanx TFs is bad enough, especially since Villains don't get access to them.

Quote:Counterintuitive point is counterintuitive.Since you asked, while there are few things that would be interesting to have, I would rather resources be put into new pieces and making some of the older low rez pieces look new with NPC peices being done when possible.
If they did higher-rez, new pieces for NPCs, AND made versions that could work for PCs at the same time (the easiest way to do it, I'd assume), then we'd be getting new shinies that we'd never had before anyway. -
Who was it who said that NPC parts wouldn't be popular, again?
-
Quote:Ahh. Well, that's a bummer then =/Morality missions in Praetoria are solo-only. The all mention explicitly (with exception to the tutorial) that it's a single player mission and you can't be on a team to do them in red text front and center. This is because there is a "cut scene" moment at the end of each one that requires you to click between Loyalist or Rebellion.

1. Shadow Shard revamp and co-op
2. Dark Astoria
3. Boomtown
4. Eden
5. Creys Folly
Revamps; making old stuff new for everyone. -
My 'odd one out' ex-Nemesis Adjutant, Kayla Drake;

Loving some of the designs, the Alpha shoulders would work great for the Legacy Bosses.
However, I do think the 'replica' Hero 1 doesnt...ah....doesnt work? :P -
Impersonator!!

However, I agreeo. Seriously; those models are fugly! And I mean uncanny valley ugly, not 'ugly humans' ugly. They just look really bad is all >_>
